This image of OpenWire inside Delphi 7 is captured by me, and is released in the public domain! OpenWire is free open source library. It also has Graphical Editor that can be installed in Delphi or C++ Builder. Visual Studio graphical editor is also under development.

Whenever there is a ready version of the OpenWire editor in Visual Studio, I probably will post image of it.

Articles for deletion nomination of Sondergeräte edit

I have nominated Sondergeräte, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sondergeräte. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Pichpich (talk) 15:26, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pichpich,

Thank you! Please let me know what are the reasons to delete the page?

Sondergeräte vs Jagdfaust edit

Hello. The references you've added to the Sondergeräte article are concerned with the SG500 Jagdfaust. But this is not the weapon that your article is trying to describe! Pichpich (talk) 12:39, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello Pichpich,

I added references to articles that mention the Sondergeräte or Sondergerät (Still not sure for the spelling, have seen it both ways). This are the only somewhat reliable mentioning of the weapon I can find. Actually this is the reason I started the article, as it seem while the weapon is mentioned in a number of places and articles, the information for it is scarce. I was hopping that people with more information will be able to fill the gap, and help complete the article over time.

Cheers,

 Boian

Hello, Bmitov

I have completed reviewing File:OpenWireEditorD7.jpg and File:OpenWire Editor installed in Delphi XE3.jpg and I discovered them to be non-free. In other words, Embarcadero has only granted the right to display/view them; other three freedoms seem to have not been granted.

Always assume the screenshot of a commercial product to be non-free unless its author give you a permission that stresses on the four freedoms.

If you wish to upload a free screenshot of OpenWire, I think Lazarus is a free and open source IDE. The result would be completely free.

Best regards,

Hi Lisa,
I have met with them, and have personally asked for the permission.
I am also Embarcadero Technology partner, and they have granted me the rights to screen capture their products for this purpose!
With best regards,
Boian
Hi. I know. That is what corporate people do. They always smile and politely grant a vague permission and then in the court they say their permission was only for viewing. This is so common that it has become general knowledge. But did they stress on the freedom to edit, republish, create derivative works? Or did they specify a licensing scheme? If not, then we should assume it is non-free.
By the way, please sign your messages by inserting ~~~~ at the end.

Hi Lisa,
Yes,
1. I have written permission to take screenshots of their products and post it in any public domain.
2. I have met and asked them in person to allow me to post the screen capture on Wikipedia! I know what kind of guys I am dealing with when posting on Wikipedia :-D . Actually I have been Borland, CodeGear and Embarcadero technology partner for over 10 years, and know most of the people that run the show in person ;-) . You can find some of them in my LinkedIn profile ;-) Just search for Boian Mitov in LikedIn and you will see the connections.
If this does not convince you I have the rights to post the image, I guess, I need to hire a lawyer :-D
I guess that is why I post on Wiki so rarely :-D .
Boian Mitov 00:32, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
BTW: I can get somebody from Embarcadero to contact you to confirm my credentials if necessary.
Hi. An OTRS member will come along to review the situation and will inform you about what to do next. They will probably ask you to show them the written permission. If you get a notice that says "the image is deleted", don't worry: In these cases, the image is just hidden from the public. The foundation does this to safeguard itself against potential lawsuits. But when you do as the OTRS member says, they'll probably restore it. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 03:42, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for June 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Object Windows Library, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page VCL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of File:OpenWireEditorD7.png edit

The file File:OpenWireEditorD7.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused image, future use unlikely

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 08:28, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
