December 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Manmohan Misra—because it did not appear constructive. Manmohan Misra moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Manmohan Misra, is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). In addition, there is a question of WP:UPE or WP:COI editing. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Or feel free to ping me to take another look.Onel5969 TT me 11:29, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Manmohan Misra edit

Hi, I am responding here to your comment on my talk page, as this is more about you and less about me.

The first thing you must do is formally disclose your conflict of interest, given that you are writing about a family member. The instructions for doing this are provided above in the section titled 'Managing a conflict of interest'. After that, you are welcome to continue developing this draft, but please note that you must not publish it yourself, you must continue to submit it for review through the AfC process until it is accepted.

You must write in a neutral, unbiased manner, both in terms of tone and content. This may be difficult to do, on account of your relationship with the subject, but you must try your best, as article reviewers take a very dim view of promotional content.

You also have to ensure that you limit your writing to information which can be supported by reliable published sources; in other words, you should not write what you know about your father, only summarise (in your own words, but without putting any additional 'spin' on things) what reliable sources have said about him. You must then cite these sources as you go, so that others can see where the information has come from; this will also ensure that all the information is adequately referenced.

Last but by no means least, your draft must demonstrate that the subject is notable in Wikipedia terms. This is usually done, per WP:GNG, by citing multiple secondary sources that are both reliable and independent, and that provide significant coverage of the subject. Note that each source that you rely on to establish notability must meet each of these criteria at once. Alternatively, some special notability guideline may also apply: if your father was first and foremost considered a poet, then you may be able to demonstrate notability per the WP:POET guideline, in which case you must clearly show which of the criteria 1-4 applies to him, and provide evidence to support this.

Hope this helps, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:54, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Manmohanmisra for wikipedia.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Manmohanmisra for wikipedia.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 11:52, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
