Re: Radiation therapy edit

Hi Bgordski, I know almost nothing about either cancer or its treatments. I only have the radiation therapy article on my watchlist because I looked the subject up once (since a friend of mine had cancer) and found this piece of vandalism in March 2008. As far as I can tell, there aren't any subject matter experts who regularly watch for factually inaccurate edits.

For a definition of what is considered vandalism in Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Vandalism. For information about reliable references in medical articles and how to cite them, see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine). Since I'm not an expert on medicine, I don't feel comfortable making major edits to medicine-related articles. The editors at WikiProject Medicine may be able to help you. November 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Chemical castration, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The standards for articles dealing with medicine in particular are rather strict. I don't doubt your knowledge, but we must insist on having references to back up every claim made. You can also help out by making sure there aren't any *other* unsourced claims already in the article. If you see anything that needs a reference, you can add the tag fact to it. This will put a [citation needed] notice on the sentence. Thanks for your understanding. -- Joren (talk) 03:35, 27 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Medical castration edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Medical castration. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - :Oophorectomy, Prostate cancer castration. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at :Oophorectomy, Prostate cancer castration - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding hang on to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 03:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pencil beam scans(Medical Physics) edit

The article Pencil beam scans(Medical Physics) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Content fork from pencil (optics); not much here but some strange promotion of a new device.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dicklyon (talk) 06:01, 17 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

You should at least respect normal style conventions like heading case and titles; downcase the headings and move the article to something without the parens if possible. Dicklyon (talk) 01:42, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sipuleucel-T, Provenge® areas needing improvment edit

  • Only a palliative treatment; needs to be curative.
  • Obscenely expensive.
  • Potentially deadly if blood from patient A is swapped with patient B, etc.
  • Studies have shown that immunity increases with Medical castration ; could that be applied with provenge? [1]
  • If PA2024 requires Naïve T cells to activate; age 65+ have NO such cells see: Thymic involution.
  • See Thymocyte for more info about the above problem.
  • CaP usually effects men over 40 yrs. If "Naive T" cells are missing then to what cells are the APC's presenting?
    • Would a blood transfusion of naive T cell (white blood cells) enrichened supply from a younger donor provide viable naive "T" cells?
      • See Nelfinvair monotherapy [2]
  • Not enough production capacity, too few stations, only 3 locations for the amount of current US CaP victims.
    • 120,000/yr diagnosed with CaP, 32,000+ deaths in 2010 in USA alone.
    • Europe has 1.3 times as many mCRPC patients as US; how will they be handled?
  • Future products using ACI technology, if it uses same stations, will choke current production. Not enough stations to service any future demand.
    • Bladder (DN24-02), Breast (Neuvenge), Lung, colorectal and Kidney.

Hep A vaccine wrong PubChem link edit

Hello, please review PubChem link for Hepatitis A vaccine, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepatitis_A_vaccine : http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/summary/summary.cgi?cid=85154227 . Note that there is no such CID (Compound ID) in PubChem, instead there is a SID (Substance ID) with that number assigned to the vaccine. So the correct link must be http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/summary/summary.cgi?sid=85154227 . A one letter difference. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.14.254.24 (talk) 22:11, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for April 20 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Proton therapy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Varian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Kolon edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kolon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
