This is basically PID and should be redirect there IMO. Is there an ICD code for this as a separate condition? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10: 26, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your input. The reason why I turn this into a separate article is that there is enough information contained in the Sternak and other journals to warrant a totally separate article. I have not inserted all information relevant to this topic which gets more into the specific damage treatment and repair of the fallopian tubes. FTI has other causes than just PID. In addition one can have tubal factor infertility that is not caused by PID. Also, different organisms have a different propensity and causing tubal factor infertility. I do have to go back and double check the coding which may not be perfectly accurate at this point of time. Article is by no means perfect or complete at this point. But since there is so much overlap in the topics of PID and tubal factor infertility, it was just economical to work on both articles at the same time. There is a lot of specific information related to tubal infertility factor that would be too detailed to include in the PID article.    Bfpage | leave a message  10: 37, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes true. You would have endometriosis as another cause. I withdraw my suggestion. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12: 10, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
You do make an excellent point. though. In my reading, there is much overlap between Ectopic pregnancy, TFI, and PID. TFI and PID can cause EP. TFI can be caused by PID. Treatment for PID is for infectious disease. Treatment for TFI is treatment for possible infectious disease AND correction of conditions that block the tubes. The whole path of cause and effect is what is so fascinating for me at this point.

You haven't read this yet since I am preparing it to insert into the PID article, but PID has a measurable effect on pregnancy outcomes. A history of PID and subsequent recurring PID results in premature births, higher than average infant mortality, sepsis and a whole host of other problems with newborns - this according to Sternak. Does this belong in a new section in the PID article?

re:thank you edit

No problem! Your message might have been the first thanks I've had for page patrol stuff in the 7ish years I've been here, so it made my day. It's also nice to see decent articles in the new pages log from time to time. Have you ever considered becoming autopatrolled by the way? I don't know if you qualify for it... or if its still a thing for that matter, but the more article authors who become autopatrolled, the more time it saves. Cheers, Ryan shell (talk) 19:09, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your thank you. I am about 20 articles short of being autopatrolled at this point. I always thought it wasn't quite 'fair' to put so much effort into patrolling new pages and getting so little 'credit' for it, really. After all, it doesn't add up to a whole lot of edits and if you really think something is suspicious, you could end up spending a good twenty minutes sniffing out a hoax, non-notable-author-created-off-wiki-fake references, and just some plain weirdness. I do what you do because new page patrolling is a pretty important thing to do and so I appreciate you giving the article your stamp of approval. The Very Best of Regards, and your new friend,

any help is gratefully accepted. This draft is a result of trying to source BLM firefighters just after the onset of WWII being drafted and being replaced by women in jobs that were seasonal fighting wildland forest fires. Many came from the She-She-She program of 33'-37'.

I need help identifing lines that appear to violate copyright, can you help?

Your article already exists I am about 99% sure that this article already exists and it is called: Civilian Conservation Corp. I am old enough to remember my parents and grandparents talking about this FDR program that it existed to stimulate the economy back in the 30s or 40s. It used to be referred to as: the CCC. I am thinking that is what you are trying to make the title sounds like. The content of your article also matches the content of this already existing article. I'm not sure how you want to proceed from here. But let me know what you want to do next. Best Regards

Lets disagree on this one. The article on the CCC, under minorities, lists a link to the She+, that says it needs to be created. In that entire article that's the only place women are mentioned.

Last bit for the article Hilda Worthington Smith edit

I wanted to use a statement from an interview held by the FDR Library. Can it be considered public domain and usable?

Background---- in 1937 the programs smith initiated but couldn't in 1933 call it by it's name became the W.P.A.'s Workers Education Service.--

Smith also wanted to teach “workers’ education”, a term that had a strong communist association. She related years later, “I hardly dared mention it because it was so unpopular.”

Workers'education was ... "unusual because it involved three groups virtually ignored at the time: women, blue collar workers, and blacks.." --Priscilla Van Tassel, New York Times, June 24, 1984, NJ5. (Caption for HWSmith picture) from the interview for the story in times

And what is workers' education? I think the first thing is to say what workers' education is and what it is not. I'd like to say, first, it is not vocational education. Many people think that that is what it is; it's not trade training for workers. That's entirely separate, should supplement workers' education and go along with it. But it is not the same thing. Workers' education is a specialized branch of adult education. It covers in general the economic and labor problems related to the experience of industrial workers, office workers, farmers, anything that touches the economic field. It is also and usually supplemented with much work in English, with elementary science, social psychology, with history, with a background of life in the United States. It touches: employers' problems, trade union problems, the worker in the community as citizen, the government's relation to industry and to the labor movement.

Interview with Hilda Worthington Smith, Franklin D. Roosevelt Library, Hyde Park, NY, October 17, 1963

I still have to edit it, but I feel this goes under LIFE PHILOSOPHY, what's your take on it?? --- See the Talk on the article...

Category:Infectious causes of cancer edit

Please review your recent additions of this category to articles which are not about pathogens or malignancies. I can see where some of the subjects might be tangentially related to the category, but they don't necessarily belong in the category. --Versageek 00:09, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Versageek. Please review WP:NPOV, WP:CAT and the the actual category definition for Category:Infectious causes of cancer.- MrX 01:13, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Versageek and MrX for taking an interest in reviewing this category and its appropriateness. It has been interesting to me that the creation of the category would even have a hint of controversy attached to it and I remain somewhat surprised. Various pathogens ranging from viruses to nematodes and flukes are strongly linked to increasing the risk of cancer in humans. Each of the articles in this category support the connection of increased cancer risk with reliable secondary and tertiary citations to reliable medical journals. This category links these diverse topics. I have reviewed WP:NPOV, WP:CAT and have not been able to find content that would call into question the existence of the category or its contents. I admit I am surprised that NPOV is an issue, since I basically insert references after summarizing contents of a journal article. My opinion on the topic is quite irrelevant - I am editing the contents of recent (within the past five years or so) medical journal articles and placing the information into the appropriate articles. You aren't the only ones that have questioned this category and its contents: WikiProject Medicine Talk page discussion on the same topic.
Best Regards,   Bfpage |leave a message  17:24, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
It is not the creation of the category that I personally had issue with, but the articles you chose to include as "infectious causes of cancer", including Condom [1], Men who have sex with men [2] and Sex education [3] among others. The category description page states that "the articles in this category support the connection of increased cancer risk", but Condom states a decreased risk, Men who have sex with men's cancer statement is specifically about the presence of HPV, and Sex education in itself cannot possibly cause cancer. It is a reasonable category to have when applied properly. That was not the case on its creation. HalJor (talk) 22:43, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Similarly, adding "Pelvic inflamatory disease" as a category to Abstinence [4] is wholly unnecessary. HalJor (talk) 22:54, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have a piece up in my sandbox that is in need of further work. If you think it may be viable as a legitimate article;
maybe we can work on improving it together... The working title is the Pyrrhan Society and I can email it if you can't find it in my sandbox,

it's about the 'FirstBorn', women of the fire service who are the first in title to Chief, firefighter, paramedic or ems worker.

spacing problems edit

This is regarding your 27 March 2015 edit to Wikipedia:Manual of Style with edit summary: "(added spacing per MOS:HEAD for readability in the edit window)".

I'm not sure if your change from standard to optional header spacing is a good idea. It seems counter-productive, since there are automated scripts that, on occasion, check for and eliminate unnecessary spaces and blank lines. There are a few places with {{anchor}}s on lines by themselves (which don't display) which had extra blank lines added afterward, which caused extra blank line space in the display version. In section "Punctuation inside or outside", an extra visual space appeared after the header when an extra blank line was added before a <!--comment--> line. Those are just a few of the things I noticed that need correction. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Cheers. —Telpardec  TALK  16:56, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think what prompted my edit was something that I read in the documentation for the WIKIEd program instructions where the rationale for spacing correction was explained by the author. BUT if I edited something that is going to 'screw up' some scripts that are already in place and working just fine, I want to put things back to the way they were, that is for certain. I will definitely go back and make things right. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Best Regards,   Bfpage |leave a message  17:02, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
