Source???? edit

Please provide a valid source to this 'entire university investigation' that you reference on the Greg Goff article. If you do not I will undo your last edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pncomeaux (talkcontribs) 20:19, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Source edit

There is not a reference that I have. It was internal, and both sides decided to walk. As you can see the reference that was added was added by a non relevant sports blog. There was slander in the article that was not true. I hope that you would not be posting incorrect information from a blog as credible sources. Benprather (talk) 03:25, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ben, it appears to me that you may have a Conflict of interest in relation to the Greg Goff page. Please give that link a read before continuing to edit the page. Please also note that Wikipedia operates on the basis of Verifiability, and so information that can be verified in independent sources is permitted, unless other sources can be found that contradict it, which then leads down a process of finding a consensus. Your edits do not conform to these practices, as you are removing properly cited information (from a news website - AL.com, not a blog) without providing an alternative source. Documented sources are the key - not your or anyone else's personal knowledge. I don't have any inside information, know Mr. Goff, or particularly care about the circumstances of his departure from Alabama, but properly cited information is valid on his page, unless you can demonstrate that it is not accurate. I hope this helps as to why the information keeps being added. Billcasey905 (talk) 02:35, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Billcasey905 please refer to the below rule.
Notice about sources
This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Take extra care to use high-quality sources. Material about living persons should not be added when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism; see more information on sources. Never use self-published sources about a living person unless written or published by the subject; see WP:BLPSPS and WP:BLPSELFPUB.
Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. If you are connected to one of the subjects of this article and need help, see this page.
I'm familiar with this passage. I also see that AL.com is a reputable news source, and you have yet to produce anything verifiable that contradicts this WP:reliable source. Again, please, read the section on Conflicts of Interest. It appears to me that you have one. Billcasey905 (talk) 19:49, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
