July 2023 edit

  Hi BeLucky! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at William Beveridge that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Not a big issue; just so you know. Thank you for pointing out. Will keep it in mind from now on. Still learning. --BeLucky (talk) 18:15, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, BeLucky, and welcome to Women in Red. Good to see you intend to devote more of your editing time to writing about women. You might also like to sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members where others will be able to see your interest. Although you have wide experience as an editor and have already created a few women's biographies, I think you might find it useful to look through some of our essays, perhaps starting with the Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:22, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Women in Red 8th Anniversary edit

  Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

Various edit

Hi, I didn't manage to finish our conversation yesterday, I was going to say that if you are thinking of writing or extending an article for DYK, I would develop it as a draft, as the 7 days deadline for a DYK nomination only starts when your edits are published in article space. I then read a couple of articles you have worked on.

  • World Constitution and Parliament Association: several of the references are books, please could you add which pages the information is found on, that can be done in the cite book template or using Template:Rp where the same reference is reused with different pages. I know this is not always possible with Google books.
  • Campaign for World Government I noticed that some copyright text had been copied from the internet by a previous editor, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. You may wish to replace it with a summary in your own words.

TSventon (talk) 14:58, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@TSventon Thanks for reaching out.
Surely I will mention the page nos of books where info is mentioned. Out of 22 cites 5 or 6 are books maybe.
That Campaign for World Government need a serious rewrite. Messed up by old editors. Will try to fix it definitely.
See problem is that there are no active members (WP:WikiProject_Globalization) to work with and lot of these articles need serious fixing. Will do it eventually. --BeLucky (talk) 15:16, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@TSventon About DYK it was whole new thing for me. Read about it here on Wiki Project page WP:WikiProject_Globalization/Article_tools#New_articles so tried and now I know what it is. So still learning things. --BeLucky (talk) 15:23, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@TSventon And you are right about drafts. I need to adopt that. Old habits die hard. --BeLucky (talk) 15:27, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
