Hi Barton Fox and thanks for your note. I appreciate all the points you are making, but it is not a matter where personal judgement and exceptions come into it – Wikipedia is designed as an encyclopaedia and the five pillars sets out the frame that we use as volunteer editors and reviewers. By its very nature, your firsthand account can't be considered because it isn't sourced from previously published works and contains original research – albeit firsthand and live reportage. None of the above makes it a bad article or an unworthy one – it's just that Wikipedia is a bad fit for it because that's not what Wiki does. Have you thought about looking for other sources via your local library – history projects and so forth, because it would be a shame to waste such a valuable firsthand account of in important moment in history. Dear Libby Thanks for the info and I do understand completely about the relevance of the Wikipedia remit. The article has been placed in several other places over the last five years including a BBC Radio reading/talk. I'm not looking for an outlet I was just reacting to what I had read on Wikipedia about 'personal accounts' of the Fall of the Berlin Wall on the morning of 9th November 1989 and believed that my own account could, shall we say, 'enhance' the other reports. At present I am researching the event as this November will be the 25th anniversary...and so my research on Wikipedia. Thanks for your time and good luck.
