Unfortunately, the link that you provided is considered a "primary/first party source" - one that has been created by someone closely affiliated with the subject of the article (his football club). As such, it is of somewhat limited value, see WP:SELFPUB. In order to demonstrate notability required to keep the article from being deleted, you will need to find a reliable third party source, such as a respected (not tabloid) newspaper or an interview/profile on the BBC or in a national magazine or in a book (probably too early in his career for a book to include him).

Most of the links you find using a news.google.com search or their archives (except for the blogs) count as reliable third party sources. You could also try books.google.com.
