Speedy deletion nomination of Lagerstein edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lagerstein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Re:Lagerstein edit

The deletion rational was "no credible claim of significance", meaning that the band failed to meet the needed criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. Those criteria for bands are laid out at our music notability page, and include criteria such as 3rd party coverage and major chart topping hits as a barometers by which we measure which bands get articles here.

In the case of your band, it hasn't met any of those marks yet, making it ineligible for an article here...for now. This is a case of what we call WP:TOOSOON: it may be that in time your band reaches Aerosmith or Linkin Park (or whatever music you listen to ) proportions, but right now you have insufficient fame to assert notability, and by extension to have a band article here on Wikipedia. PS: I saw your comment concerning tagging - "I'm wondering why you marked the page I was at the time making for deletion. It was for a band Lagerstein, the 2nd Largest band in their genre." The answer to that question is that any article in the main article space is considered cannon fodder for deletion since the article is assumed to have been published. To avoid CSD deletion such as you had many article creators now start their article construction either in a user sandbox or in the Wikipedia draft space so as to work on an article unencumbered by the existing deletion criteria. If you'd like to start again I would recommend that you take the Draft/Sandbox route as opposed to direct publication, in this way if the article is declined for publication you will still have the copy in a safe place such as it were.
