Sections in edit summaries edit

When you edit a section of an article, the edit summary is auto-filled with "/* section_name */" to start. Note that the article history and contributions lists automatically turn these into "→ section_name" links to make it easy to navigate to the relevant section. For this reason, in edit summaries, please do not place any text other than section names between the /* and */. If the edit is not on a particular section, there should be no /* */ at all. Thanks. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 16:24, 24 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@AlanM1: It’s because I’m using mobile view to edit. I can’t see any automated edit summaries. -- Bank: Bank Robbery started a robbery (🚨) 23:22, 25 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Bank Robbery: Just to be clear, are you saying that you are not typing "/*" and "*/" around your edit summaries, or entering anything other than plain text into them? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 23:55, 25 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, AlanM1, what I mean is that I use mobile view to edit, which means I cannot see any automated edit summaries, unlike desktop view. In mobile view, you always see a blank edit summary for you to enter. -- Bank: Bank Robbery started a robbery (🚨) 06:19, 26 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Bank Robbery: Yes, I understood that. The same empty edit summary field appears when I tried editing from mobile. However, my mobile edits did not incorrectly link the edit summary text I entered. I'm trying to figure out why almost all of your edit summaries are all (incorrectly) linked as though they were sections – whether this is a bug that needs to be reported and fixed. The only way I can think of it not being a bug is if you are intentionally entering "/*" and "*/" around the edit summary that you place in that edit summary field. That is why I'm asking you to please confirm that you are not entering "/*" and "*/" around your edit summary when you fill in the (initially blank) edit summary field. Also, would you comment on whether you are using an iPhone or Android and which browser you are using (if you know). Thanks. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 06:46, 26 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@AlanM1: I use iPhone. Sometimes I use a Mac and I use desktop view. -- Bank: Bank Robbery started a robbery (🚨) 08:34, 26 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Bank Robbery: Thanks. What is your response to please confirm that you are not entering "/*" and "*/" around your edit summary when you fill in the (initially blank) edit summary field? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 17:17, 26 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

My response to “please confirm that you are not entering ‘/*’ and ‘*/’ ” is okay. -- Bank: Bank Robbery started a robbery (🚨) 23:40, 26 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

The file File:User-BankRobbery-Hometown City MapInterior.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused orphan, unencyclopedic file, out of project scope

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — MATRIX!
