Sections in edit summaries

When you edit a section of an article, the edit summary is auto-filled with "/* section_name */" to start. Note that the article history and contributions lists automatically turn these into "→ section_name" links to make it easy to navigate to the relevant section. For this reason, in edit summaries, please do not place any text other than section names between the /* and */. If the edit is not on a particular section, there should be no /* */ at all. @Bank Robbery: Yes, I understood that. The same empty edit summary field appears when I tried editing from mobile. However, my mobile edits did not incorrectly link the edit summary text I entered. I'm trying to figure out why almost all of your edit summaries are all (incorrectly) linked as though they were sections – whether this is a bug that needs to be reported and fixed. The only way I can think of it not being a bug is if you are intentionally entering "/*" and "*/" around the edit summary that you place in that edit summary field. That is why I'm asking you to please confirm that you are not entering "/*" and "*/" around your edit summary when you fill in the (initially blank) edit summary field. Also, would you comment on whether you are using an iPhone or Android and which browser you are using (if you know). Thanks. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 06:46, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
