McCabe's Guitar in Long Beach edit

You removed the McCabe's link from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band article, saying that the Long Beach shop was not affiliated with the famous Santa Monica one. I find this hard to believe. How can you have two shops in SoCal with the same uncommon name without a relationship? However, I can't find anything online that relates them. In fact, I can't find anything about the Long Beach shop at all. Do you know anything more? Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 18:31, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Here is a newspaper article from the Long Beach Press-Telegram about the McCabe's in Long Beach (which I used to drive by all the time.) I'll see if I can find a source about no relationship. Bahooka (talk) 18:52, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
More links can be found here and here, although one is a forum that we usually don't post as a reference. But at least you can see the McCabe's in Long Beach existed and that it appears to be a separate entity with separate owners. Best, Bahooka (talk) 19:01, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
The sources only talk about the situation as it existed in the 1980s. I have a strong suspicion that, given the less-than-common-name, the Santa Monica store could have expanded into Long Beach and then later sold it. In the early 1970s, it was common to believe that they were connected. However, I cannot find a single source to even suggest such a thing. Even the McCabe's web-site says nothing about the Long Beach store. Naturally, I support removing the wiki-link from the Dirt Band article, but I am puzzled that I can't find anything online about that store. We tend to think that we can Google anything and find it, but there are still mysteries. Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 18:15, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Are you talking about this edit from three years ago? If so, making a POV comment saying "No wonder Wikipedia has developed a reputation for incorrect/incomplete information" along with the long line of periods, as well as the unsourced information, was why your edits were reverted. You may want to discuss on the article talk page at Talk:Saab 9-3 if you still have an issue with it after this many years. Bahooka (talk) 15:20, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Common criticism of Mormons for being deviant version of Christianity edit

Hi. This is a revert you did a year ago in Criticism of Mormons article after I added a line that this "deviant version of Christianity" was a main criticism of the LDS. I can't find a reason stated for your reversion, although this has been and still is one of the most-often voiced anti-Mormon comments. If we search for critique of Mormonism on youtube, about half of the videos are Cristians saying "stay clear of these fake Christians." And there's massive written documentation of my claim from 1830 to present. Why didn't you want that in the article? I doubt you're a Saint who doesn't want this brought up? And my personal opinion is that the Christians are straining to make this doctrinal quibble seem substantial.  ?? Thanks, Alan Moabalan (talk) 21:53, 2 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

There needs to be some kind of verifiable evidence that a college or person is sponsored by Under Armour. See the Wikipedia policy at Wikipedia:Verifiability. Accusations of Vandalism edit

Good afternoon. I noticed that you have reverted two of my edits, and have made the serious accusation that I am vandalizing Wikipedia. I take this accusation very seriously. You will notice that I provided a reference for each of my edits. You either were too lazy to read the citations, or you decided to abandon the principle of fairness. Edit at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints edit

Dear Bahooka, I see that you reverted an edit I made regarding the name of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and its members. I am new, so I was unaware that saying 'do note...' would not work. I am thankful that you considered it good faith. I just wanted to make sure with you that if I re-edited the page to include the necessary information, while not using phrases like 'do note that...' things could work. Thank you Dart365 (talk) 20:33, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would not include that information in the lede section. It is already long enough. The information about using the full name of church by President Nelson is already included in the first section, the one titled Terminology. If you want additional information about that topic in the article, I would discuss it on the article's talk page first to get more feedback from other editors. Good luck on your editing! Chevrolet Suburban edit

"All content must be verifiable." What could be more verifiable than a vehicle VIN or serial number which indicates in it the plant of manufacture? Nothing is more verifiable than that. So, what exactly is your problem then? 108.6.237.202 (talk) 20:43, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your changes need to come from a published source. Cite it per WP policy. Doing your own analysis of VINs is original research, which is not allowed. Bahooka (talk) 20:45, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
First of all, analyzing VINs is more reliable than any published source because published sources can be wrong but vehicle VINs cannot. And, one can also say that a VIN is indeed a published source. It is "published" on the placard on the vehicle by the automaker that produced the vehicle. Second, any published source begins somewhere with original research. If you trace all the sources cited and keep tracing each source back farther and farther to its origination, you will sooner or later find "original research". So, if "original research" is not allowed, then nothing should be allowed. Of course, that would result in wikipedia disappearing and every other source of knowledge right along with it, all because of some arbitrary rule that makes no sense. Everything is "original research" if you go far enough back.
I have to say that users like you are quite interesting. You appear to want to enforce all these arbitrary rules so that everything is accurate and verified. But I have seen so many mistakes and inaccuracies on wikipedia which obviously nobody ever said anything about because they were published and stayed like that for a long time with no objections by anyone. But yet when someone comes along and tries to fix errors or add more relevant information, then all these users miraculously come out of the woodwork trying to enforce arbitrary rules. Where were all your rules before when people published incorrect information? Then, those rules were nowhere to be found. Is the goal simply to blindly enforce rules just for the sake of enforcing rules or is the goal to get correct and accurate information for all people to have available? I think that is a question worth pondering. 108.6.237.202 (talk) 21:20, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I disagree with your assessment of Wikipedia policies and the reason you believe your edits are better than a published source. However, my talk page is not the best place for this discussion so I am ending it here. We can go to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles to see where other editors feel the same way as me about your edits since they are already being discussed there. Bahooka (talk) 21:26, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hey there! I agree with your edit, however I feel like there is a better term we could use other than "top-of-the-line" as it sounds very weaselly and like something you would say in an ad for the car. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:43, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hey!! You better NOT vandalize articles, like you did to the Sun Belt’s Table of Major Cities section! What the f*** is wrong with you?! Plus, I do NOT find anything wrong about the table of Sun Belt Cities, not everything has to be sourced you dumba$$! MakeAmericaGreatAgain901 (talk) 22:43, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

First of all, it was not vandalism. If you look at my edit summary, it states that I am removing it per WP:NOTDIRECTORY. Second, everything on Wikipedia actually DOES need to be sourced. One of the policies of Wikipedia is Wikipedia:Verifiability. And third, please watch your tone and language with other editors (like me.) Another Wikipedia policy is Wikipedia:Civility. I will create a discussion on the talk page for the removal of that section. Bahooka (talk) 00:18, 27 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for letting me know. I just removed the number produced from that article, too. You can find more information on what goes in an infobox at Template:Infobox automobile. Best, Bahooka (talk) 20:20, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your welcome! please revert these three edits also. thanks Lamborghini Murciélago, Lamborghini Diablo, Lamborghini Gallardo. Poker7p7p (talk) 23:16, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will, but you know you can remove them also. Bahooka (talk) 23:41, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:42, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why are you removing my work on the Scion page? edit

Why are you removing my work on the Scion page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scionnn (talkcontribs)

Did you read my edit summaries? Your edits did not comply with WP:ELDEAD and WP:CARTRIVIA. Please discuss why you think the edits belong on the article talk page at Talk:Scion (automobile) instead of continuing to readd those edits. Bahooka (talk) 18:26, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes i did. But my newer edit did not include dead links. I disregarded Scion.com and went forward another part about Scion, using an alive link from Archive.org. Is that also banned? Scionnn (talk) 19:43, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
What link was from archive.org? And per WP:ELDEAD, "updates may include adding an archive URL, but only if the archive version has substantially the same content and user experience as the original, many websites no longer function the same when archived." Bahooka (talk) 20:16, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Facebook is not an official site nor is it a reliable source for any content. In addition, this was for trivia that does not belong in an encyclopedia. See WP:CARTRIVIA. Bahooka (talk) 00:25, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
But this is the official scion facebook? Can you lead me where on WP:CARTRIVIA it says its not a reliable source? Scionnn (talk) 03:47, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is no official Scion Facebook account because Scion no longer exists. As I directed earlier, take this discussion to the article talk page at Talk:Scion (automobile). See if you can get some support for your edits there. Bahooka (talk) 06:34, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Drakan Spyder edit

The article Drakan Spyder has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Zero indication of notability. Sources are promotional

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
