Hello. Your editing of linear regression prompts this comment: Instead of writing dogs, write dogs. That has exactly the same effect and is more efficient. Similarly apocryphal and the like. Michael Hardy 01:19, 4 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip, Michael. -Pat User_talk:Babbage/Todo

Nice fast efficient edit edit

Good work on the re-edit of my edit on Sudan, I was going to make a similar change, hit an edit conflict, and your version is better. Thanks, keep up the good work!Pedant 21:20, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)

Second welcome edit

Some more quicklinks for your enjoyment. You might also want to add your Sudan project as a link from the Systemic Bias wikiproject. +sj.+ 09:57, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Calaveras Skull edit

Hi, you tagged this as a copyvio, but it's not. The link you specify was indeed my primary source, but I included information from the other links I listed in the References section as well. Additionally, copyvio tagging is a two-step process. You also have to list it in WP:CP. Regards, howcheng {chat} 06:22, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mass content adding, next step edit

After a long time, a week ago I started to work again on the project Mass content adding. And after some suggestions, I realized that the best place for localization of the content is WiktionaryZ (http://www.wiktionaryz.org). The main problem with working on content on Meta is because Meta is strictly GFDL licensed and WZ is double licensed (GFDL and CC-BY), which makes work on Meta incopatable with work on WZ (and CC-BY should be used for all data because we don't need any kind of complex license for data). --millosh (talk (sr:)) 02:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The next step is to translate names of the countries, including all names' cases. I am not sure in what languages you want to participate, so, please, send me a list of them with the case system of that languages (what number of numbers / singular, plural, .../ what are the cases /nominative, genitive, dative.../) so I can make templates for languages in which you want to work. You can contact me via email (millosh@gmail.com), too. --millosh (talk (sr:)) 02:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to call anyone to join the translation in any other language. Also, headquarters for the project is on the meta page, but there are a lot of issues which should be done on WZ (like cases templates; you can see an examples on http://wiktionaryz.org/Countries, http://wiktionaryz.org/Countries/srp, http://wiktionaryz.org/Countries/rus). --millosh (talk (sr:)) 02:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Category:Earliest Documents by Language edit

Great idea with this category! However, I moved it to Category:Earliest known manuscripts by language, in order to fit the style of Wikipedia, as words in category names should not start with capital letters. bogdan 17:04, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, often they are not the earliest, but earliest known or surviving. bogdan 17:08, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I dunno if Sinckan Manuscripts fits your description, but perhaps it does. See ya round WikiProject Endangered languages. --Ling.Nut 04:22, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good addition. Have built and (hopefully) clarified a bit further on what you did. MadMaxDog 08:06, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sudan edit

HI Mr Babbage. PLease can a member of your project try to expand the articles on the states of Sudan. They are very poor indeed . You would expect some more detailed articles on major states of countries but often they are only two lines long and cover an area of like 400,000 sq miles!!! I have seen much improvement in a number of articles obn Sudan though . Keep up the good work its just I feel this is very important -there must be some information available somewhere. Non-free use disputed for Image:Turabi.jpg edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Turabi.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 19:06, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of basic linguistic topics edit

Thank you for joining the lists of basic topics WikiProject.

I noticed you have an interest in linguistics. Could you please look over List of basic linguistics topics, and improve its coverage?

Just fill in anything that's missing that you think should be there.

If you can find sources to verify their reason for being there, that would be even better.

I look forward to seeing your improvements to the list.

Lists of basic topics WikiProject status report edit

I've just created List of basic human anatomy topics. It's not complete. Please look it over to see if there is anything you can fill in.

Also, we've got a pretty long wish list of basic topics lists that don't yet exist. Please adopt a topic from the list and create a basic list for it -- the BLT template is for creating basic topic lists, and is used like this: (where "topic" is the name of the topic being covered). Instructions are included on the template. Once the page is created with the heading skeleton, fill it in to the best of your ability. Post a message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Lists of basic topics to let the whole team know what you are working on.

Kawaiisu language edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kawaiisu language, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.nativewiki.org/Kawaiisu. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Jason Sorens edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Jason Sorens, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add db-author to the top of Jason Sorens.
