Proposed deletion of Pharma companies in chennai edit

Hello, B4uspb. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Pharma companies in chennai, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 10:32, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

November 2014 edit

  Hello, I'm Avono. I noticed that you removed a Biographies of Living Persons PROD, from Pharma companies in chennai, and I wanted to let you know that I have replaced it. Please don't remove these Biographies of Living Persons PRODs from articles unless they contain at least one reliable source or were created before 18 March 2010. If you oppose the deletion of an article under this process, please consider adding reliable sources to the article or commenting at the respective talk page. Thank you. Avono♂ (talk) 11:41, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given that the article wasn't a BLP, the removal of a BLP-PROD would have been perfectly correct. Since what the editor actually removed was an ordinary PROD, which can be removed by anyone, including the article creator. What's not appropriate is @Avono: annoying editors by placing unnecessary/inaccurate/inappropriate tags on articles that editors are actively trying to write, and I'll apologize to you for their poor behavior. That said, the article in question is likely to be deleted eventually unless it is developed into an appropriate WP:LIST form, and I recommend that you read that and related pages and improve the article accordingly. Alternatively, it might be better to create a WP:CATEGORY rather than a list article. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 16:52, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Hullaballoo Wolfowitz: that was a honest mistake from me, found out later that there weren't any template for prod removal, however the wp:notdir reasoning is valid. Avono♂ (talk) 17:12, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
WP:COMPETENCE is required. Selecting the wrong template, alone, would be a minor matter, but repeating replacing PRODs that have been validly removed is a serious policy violation, and using generic, nonspecific deletion rationales is bad practice. And your rush-tagging of articles that are obviously still being written is atrocious behavior, that disrupts the content creation process, drives away new editors, and wastes the time of more competent editors. You need to stop. Now. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 17:18, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:02, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
