Speedy deletion of Trips for Kids International edit

A tag has been placed on Trips for Kids International, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Re: Trips for Kids edit

Hi. Neither you nor your members can submit information about your organization here, as you have conflict of interest, and your previous article read like an advertisement. Wikipedia has a strict neutral point of view policy. Look at articles like BAE Systems for an example of neutral writing; it was was not written by employees, but by some random people who had heard of the company. Wikipedia also has strict referencing rules. Regards, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:11, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, you could prepare an article that conforms to said policies in your userspace (such as User:B1kekid/Article preparation), and another editor might post it if he/she sees fit. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:49, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have just come across this after a trip and I have some sympathy for you. I note, as you say, that Trips for Kids Metro DC exists but it has major problems as the templates at the top indicate. Your article, I am afraid, did not meet our standards. It was blatant advertising and it reads as if you had copied stuff from the organisation's own material. You need to understand wikipedia better. I suggest you work on improving a few articles and getting to understand wikipedia. I then suggest you follow the advice above. A conflict of interest does not actually prevent you from writing about the organisation but you have to be extremely careful, which you were not. Another suggestion is that you rename Trips for Kids Metro DC to Trips for Kids and modify it slightly to reflect that it is about the whole organisation, not one chapter. Articles on individual chapters are not encouraged. You can then hope that others add to the article. --Bduke (Discussion) 20:14, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
