East Sea/Sea of Japan edit

Hi! WRT the Sea of Japan/East Sea thing:

While normally it would be correct to refer to the Sea of Japan per Wikipedia's Manual of Style, the mythological nature of the material in Korean creation narratives makes it not very clear whether "East Sea" is referring to the physical Sea of Japan, or some metaphorical East Sea. This is especially the case because an "East Sea" is one of the "Four Seas" of Chinese mythology.

I've therefore restored "East Sea" in the article but removed the direct wikilink to Sea of Japan, and also added a note briefly explaining this.

Cheers, and thanks for interest in the article!--Karaeng Matoaya (talk) 15:15, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Gyeongju Featured article review edit

I have nominated Gyeongju for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. (I realize you are an infrequent contributor, but thought you may be interested in helping out.) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:49, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Would you stop reverting my edits? edit

I did a compromise of Sea of Japan (East Sea). Please don't change this. I didn't remove the Sea of Japan part, East Sea is only in parenthesis. THERE IS NO REASON TO REMOVE IT. IF YOU DO I WILL ARGUE WITH YOU Haiiya (talk) 16:56, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:NC-SoJ before arguing anything.
There is a set of rules and policies that we should all respect for editing Wikipedia, and in this case it is simple and straight, use Sea of Japan, not anything else. It seems your edits are just ignoring them. B.C.Mayfield (talk) 13:36, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
And? why can I not put East Sea in parenthesis? I literally left it as Sea of Japan Haiiya (talk) 22:15, 17 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
WP:WIAN#Multiple local names does not recommend double naming, and WP:NC-SoJ clearly states "use Sea of Japan" only.
So l repeat, please understand the rules and policies, and familiarise yourself with the guidelines of Wikipedia before further editing. And do not arbitrarily change the meaning of them. B.C.Mayfield (talk) 16:13, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
In your own words, it only recommends. So, if you stop, there will be no more edit disputes. I also never changed the meaning of anything. wdymHaiiya (talk) 01:13, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
You are again ignoring WP:NC-SoJ.
As WP:Widely accepted name#Multiple local names recommends using the single English conventional name for any geographical feature and discouraging the use of double naming, and there is an outright guideline which says "use Sea of Japan" that’s enough reason for the single use of the term.
By the way, what’s your rationale which overrides all those guidelines and policies to justify your edit? B.C.Mayfield (talk) 16:14, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Reputable sources use Sea of Japan (East Sea) such as google, and I intend to bring that here. Even if East Sea isn't specific, I believe that there is no reason to have a name of a geographical region that 3 nations share should have the name of a single nation. Also, you again confirm to me that it is only a recommendation, regardless of how strong it is. We should agree to compromise it at this to avoid further conflict. Ōei Invasion and List of wars involving Japan edit

Hello. I quoted on the page of Talk:List of wars involving Japan about the discussion you had on the page of the Talk:Ōei Invasion. It seems that the sock puppets continue to write the korean victory on the pages of the Ōei Invasion and the List of wars involving Japan.--SLIMHANNYA (talk) 15:10, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
