Speedy Tags

That seems counter productive. It would seem to me, IMO, that an article at AfD would be cause to remove the speedy tag. If an admin decides to speedy the article based on the tag wouldn't that be counter-productive to the AfD process?--Torchwood Who? (talk) 09:32, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, no argument there. They both have their pros and cons. The only difference I see is that AfD involves multiple editors and admins who might get niffed.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 09:39, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Like I said, pros and cons. I've done my fair share of speedy nominations today and I appreciate the merits of both processes.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 09:42, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree, and quickly removed my edit from the userpage when I realized I wasn't on the talk space, where it was eventually moved. On editing the userspace, since Duck is a new user and was asking for help I took it upon myself to give that help. Duck's inexperience wouldn't have allowed for the work to be saved for further development... as that editor made clear that they wanted. Duck appreciates the help I gave so I don't think it's a big deal.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 09:47, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
One last thing... just to clarify, I'm just trying to have a conversation not a debate. I hope it's not reading that way and I apologize if it is.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 09:53, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Well I guess we have something in common! :) --Torchwood Who? (talk) 12:49, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
You mean besides having my userpage vandalized, being yelled at in edit summaries and having several vandals blocked accordingly? I'd say about average.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 13:02, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't mind it all that much, but someone usually reverts it before I even catch it.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 13:33, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually I am using Twinkle, I have it combined with Friendly and I haven't done much deletion tagging for a few hours, so there might not be any TW's in my recent edits. I appreciate the suggestion though. I just started with it.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 13:37, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Links for Tiberius Julius Aspurgus and Cotys IX from French Wikipedia

I sometimes use Wikipedia from other languages to help as a base for information, when I am researching to write an article for the English Wikipedia.

You requested the links regarding the above from the French Wikipedia, so here they are:

I hope this will help you.

Speedy deletion of Image:Teachers BS logo.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Teachers BS logo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Teachers BS logo.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. αѕєηιηє t/c 18:14, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Drance

Hello. Me again. I had other responses to my plea for adoption, but you seam to be the best suited for the job. I really do appreciate that you will do this for me (if you haven’t changed your mind) and hope that we can become friends. Now, with that aside, I have to apologies for the formality of this message. I am in business class at the moment and my teacher is glaring over my shoulder, so it has to look like I’m doing something educational.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kubi.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kubi.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:17, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

RE: Speedy deletion of Guillermo Vargas

I think 1.8 million signatures condemming the work of Guillermo Vargas is quite notable, don't you ??? --Triwbe (talk) 17:42, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
