Re: Randfan

I've been monitoring the contribs, Randfan's probably on vacation, lke King Toadsworth, though it has been nearly a month. –Llama man 03:53, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that list definitely needs work. Related to Chuck Norris: I did not agree with yesterday;s motto: So big, not even Chuck Norris can read it all. Chuck Norris can do anything, including read every page on Wikipedia. –Llama man 04:16, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and I'll help with the list, if you want me to. (don't know much about the subject, but will try to cleanup, add refs, etc.) –Llama man 04:26, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! (Reply)

Thanks for helping out with the List of Hindu festivals list! If you would like to help out...I would be honored! Arjun 04:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm logging out now, but if you need me to do anything, just post a message on my talk page (getting images, expanding section, etc.). By the way, great C.N. joke. Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 04:24, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Could I help sometime? I'd like to know more about Hindi cultures as well... And Arjun, have I been doing well to The Holocaust article? Can you check my progress? Thanks! --Tohru Honda13Talk 04:29, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I would be so glad if you could help with the list of Hindu festivals! Yes it needs "work" but I recently added comments on each festival and converted it to list format. As for your work on the Holocaust article...barnstar worthy :). Arjun 04:32, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Arjun :). I'm trying to help The Holocaust to become a featured article; it would be so cool! I started when we were given a research project for the Holocaust at school...we went to the school library, and I used Wikipedia to find some info. While I was there, I noticed it badly needed more sources. So, I checked out a 700 page book on the Holocaust from the public library and got straight to work! I love being busy here...Well, anyways, I'll help on that list as soon as I can. Cheers! Oh, and when's your burthday Arjun? Just checking ;) And there's one more thing, I think Sd31415 and Llama man are going to murder me but...what's so great about Chuck Norris? Bruce Lee is like, totally awesome! ;D Just playing, Chuck Norris is coolahem Bye!--Tohru Honda13Talk 05:05, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well great work, it is amazing, once you start editing for wikipedia your thought in the Real Life is "hmm...where can I use this info on wiki...or this would be an interesting article to bring to FA status. Good luck on the Holocaust article, it would be interesting to see how far it goes. I would imagine getting this article to FA status would be very difficult. Needs a lot of work from what I can see, well just remember...Just keep referencing, just keep referencing, just keep referencing... you get the point :). Oh yeah but the best of them all...is Stevie Ray Vaughan :). Cheers! Arjun 05:12, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, I don't really know much about C.N. — I just thought the joke was funny. Arjun, good luck getting some citations for List of Hindu festivals. Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 13:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Better update that edit count userbox up there. no editcountitis! Cheers! S.D. ¿п? § 14:06, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Editcountitus (Reply)

0Yeah thats why I took it down, now there are no rule things on my userpage :). I was getting tired of updating it, and now it is in line with my userpage! I am over the 8,000 mark! Arjun 14:09, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, good job on the List of Hindu festivals! I recently improved Chhath (see before and after). Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 14:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I Arjun award you Sd31415, this barnstar for your great work Chhath! Keep up the great work! Arjun 14:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks 3.1415 million! I plan to improve Hindu festival articles whenever I can, so the List of Hindu festivals can be updated to include those festivals as well. Thanks again and happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 14:30, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

P.S thanks for fixing my talk header, and moving my archive page...I forgot about the name change! Arjun 14:26, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. Cheers! S.D. ¿п? § 14:30, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

and in return...

No prob on the NPA rv. And in return...:) ...take note of todays edit on my User page. The guy is up to a test3. If you can watch him and catch him on a test 4 he can probably be reported as a vandalism only account. Cheers! Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 16:33, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I Haven't Been Vandalizing Dammit!

I haven't! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Metallicaman2112 (talkcontribs) 16:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC).

Look at your edits. They point out that you are vandalizing. And you are responsible for whatever edits are made from this account. S.D. ¿п? § 16:51, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

List of Hindu festivals

I've added Chhath to the list. I hope to improve and add Pongal. An IP suggested adding pictures from Flickr. Do you know what copyright tags need to be put on those? Thanks and happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 17:03, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Great job, thanks a lot...with me and you working together I think we can get this list featured :). But it is far from it now, okay since you just added one, I think the next one will be Pongal. Cheers! Also I think we shouldn't worry about images yet, right now lets just focus on the content. Thanks a billion (times pi) :D. Arjun 17:14, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply! I'll work a little on Pongal. Cheers! S.D. ¿п? § 17:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I've revised the article Pongal and have added its description to List of Hindu festivals. It needs citations but those can be found at the websites listed in the external links section of the article. Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 17:50, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I've made some revisions to List of Hindu festivals. How are they? Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 01:30, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Fantastic!!! Very nice job, I would give you another barnstar but...I like to keep my barnstar giving to once a week ;). Cheers and great job. I am going to give it a good look over to see what needs work on it next. Arjun 01:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! It needs more festivals (as listed on the talk page and {{HinduFestivals}}), citations (of course), and images. And possible, after the content is done, I could add orange colors to the table. What do you think? Cheers! S.D. ¿п? § 01:37, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah definatly, we should add more material. I would say no to the orange backround since this would probably be a little to elaborate, but good idea :). Cheers! Arjun 01:40, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
That's okay with me. Also, I won't be very active for the next couple of weeks. Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 01:44, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Newyorkbrad's RfA

Thank you for your support on my RfA, which closed favorably this morning, as well as for your very kind remarks accompanying your !vote. I appreciate the confidence the community has placed in me and am looking forward to my new responsibilities. Please let me know if ever you have any comments or suggestions, especially as I am learning how to use the tools. Best regards, Newyorkbrad 18:31, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey Arjun, I've finally started using popups! They're easy but, when I hover over the (diff) in my watchlist for a certain article, it takes forever for the difference to appear in the popup (it does so after a while). Also I've been trying to user welcome newuser.js but doesn't work. Can you help me please? Thanks! --Tohru Honda13 21:52, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Okay. If you change your mind just tell me. Just to let you know the IRC channel #vandalism-en-wp is pretty good. I have been able to revert faster with it. Peace. --James, La gloria è a dio 22:01, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Also keep up your your great work in vandal fighting, and improving the sense of community by being a kind editor. --James, La gloria è a dio 22:03, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay Arjun, it's okay. I think I understand it now. Thanks! --Tohru Honda13 22:42, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: "Have you heard?" (from E@L's talk)

Yes. She knows, and she knows why more than anyone else. I've given blunt answers to the thing that pushed me off the wiki to people that ask (like you), but the scars run deeper and longer. I do have to say, she's been really supportive and understanding for the two months I've known her, she's really a brilliant person. You might see me around another time, but first, I need to sort myself out. Will (talk to me) 23:07, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

WP:INDIA newsletter

Hi Arjun. Yes, Lostintherush noted at WT:INB that Chezhiyan has not been active and asked for someone to write the newsletter, so I just cobbled some bits together. Yeah, the YellowMonkey directs to me. Regards, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:27, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad I didn't make it particularly politically correct, but kept people up to date with the developments. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:37, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

im sorry —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Elmopoo2 (talkcontribs).

Oh I forgot to get to this, no problem. Just refrain from doing it again in the future and wikipedia will be a better place. Arjun 02:54, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

How's my editing? :)

How's my driving editing? Have I been doign all right in MFD, FPC, and AFD? Is it all right for me to ask you these questions once in a while? Just want to make sure I'm doing okay. Oh, and when you reply or send me an email, you don't have to tell me on my talk page. I'm almost certain I won't forgetUhh... Cheers! --Tohru Honda13 02:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

No I don't mind, I have practically adopted you :). From what I have seen, excelent, almost perfect. Unlike most users, you don't say "per nom" as I am sure you understand that AFD's are not a vote, more simply a discussion, attempting to create a decision. IN FACT!!! I found myself actually about to say "per Tohru" and that doesn't happen alot it honestly doesn't. In my mind in a discussion such as RFA, XFD, and featured promotions, the goal is to get others to say "per Tohru" or in my case "per Arjun", and I have a feeling that you are achieving that, and that is crucial in my mind. So great work, just remember to be descriptive (which you do :) in these discussions. Cheers, and feel free to ask me any more questions you (might) have. Arjun 04:45, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey... is it all right for a punk like me who isn't 21 yet to be in the Wine WikiProject? File:Blush.png Bwa ha ha ha! No, I don't drink. Oh, and I'm flattered that you were going to say per Tohru. I have to admit, in the earlier times, I'd been say per nom a lot. Now I'm learning. Although, I'm nervous sometimes. If someone finds a mistake in my reason, and they correct me; I feel ike an idiot sometimese. Well, thank you Arjun. And I notice you have an excellent vocabulary! I.E, superb. People should stop saying awesome over and over sometimes; a good vocabulary is vital. That's what my dad says anyway. Well, seeya! --Tohru Honda13 04:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
No prob, and of course it is okay to be part of the wine project, as wine is very interesting (I can't drink it either lol). Ah and don't be too hard on yourself, just remember it is just wikipedia. We all make mistakes, and whenever you make a mistake you can either let it stare you in the face and take over you...or you can use it to make you stronger, and defeat them. Heck I have probably one of the worst mistakes *ever* by a wikipedian, just look at my first archive :). Seriously, keep it up, you are learning very quickly and are becoming quite an asset for wikipedia. Don't be nervous, remember mistakes on wikipedia...can be edited :D. Oh and thanks for the kind words! Arjun 04:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Arjun, you don't have to tell me all the time that you're replying on your talk page; I have your talk page on my watchlist. Well, whatever. You're right; this is like a semi-adoption. Cheers! --Tohru Honda13 05:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar

Of course I don't mind... thank you! :)  Glen  04:12, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

I checked to see what was going on the Colts page, lol I found this. That was hilarious! Arjun 05:06, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

RfB

Just so you know, that thing you just supported me on is a request for bureaucratship, different from adminship. I get the feeling you missed this? Hardly surprising considering how few RfBs you see nowadays. I am infact already an administrator. --Deskana (request backup) 03:07, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, OK then. It just you said Wikipedia would be better with me as an admin so I figured you'd misunderstood what it was. Apologies. --Deskana (request backup) 03:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Thanks for your support in my RfA. I withdrew when it became clear that the uphill climb had crossed the snowball threshold, but I appreciate your support and the process gave me some good ideas for other ways I can be contributing to Wikipedia.
