Adopt-a-user
Hello. I'm Chris(hy), and I saw that you are seeking a user to adopt. I'm not exactly new to Wikipedia, I've edited it for quite some time, but I mainly just corrected minor mistakes on articles, usually just by anonymous IP at school. I decided that I wanted to actually be a part of the community, and once I signed up and actually got out of the main namespace, I found a lot of information. I know wiki markup, but not much on policies. So far, I've just browsed the Recent Changes not so much editing as observing how others edit. One thing I am interested in is the speedy deletion of pages. The process is quite efficient, so I've been looking at WP:CSD. Anyway, I was just looking for a user that could show me the other side of Wikipedia, namespaces, policies (I've seen "consensus" and other such stuff all over), and projects. (Plus, I see that Douglas Adams quote on your user page that I love!) So I would be delighted if you would "adopt" me or, if not, point me in the direction of another user that could. Thank you. - While I do not have a structured program, you can ask any question you wish to ask here on my talk page. If you want more structure, I know Hersfold and Tiptoety have it; but if you're content with informality, I'd be happy to adopt you.

Adopting me
I am in the need of an administrator to adopt me. I have created a few articles and have been trying to correct a few others. My skills aren't up to par yet but I'm trying. Also, user Vegaswikian has seemed to take an interest in undoing everything that I do. I have tried to reason with them but they continue. You can read the notes I left on their user page for details. I'm really at a lost here on how to proceede. I would like to become a regular contributor to wikipedia. I have a wide range of interest and often look at wikipedia for information. Over the last couple of years I have came to wikipedia on a number of occassions and haven't found articles on what I was interested in. I then researched the web to find the information. This time I decided to build articles with that research but I seemed to have stepped on the tows of a las vegan that seems to be territorial about las vegas articles. If you're too busy to adopt me can you help me get information on how to resolve this. | Animum/Archives/2008, I would like to thank you for your participation in my recent Request for Adminship, which passed with 112 supports, 4 opposes and 5 neutrals. A special mention goes out to Stwalkerster and Pedro for nominating me, thanks a lot for having trust in me! In response to the neutrals, I will try to double check articles that have been tagged for speedy deletion before I CSD them and will start off slowly with the drama boards of ANI and AN to ensure that I get used to them. In response to the oppose !votes on my RfA, I will check that any images I use meet the non-free content criteria and will attempt to handle any disputes or queries as well as I can. Yep, nearly a year later and I'm back with the same question: what's wrong with the js now? :-) I know the old query.php is dead and you updated it (even though before it died, it seems) but nevertheless there's no link inserted by the js in the toolbox. You must think I have some kind of monomania on count.js, constantly monitoring it or something, but no, I just checked my monobook and remembered it. ;-) -- Mentisock 15:17, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
