Thanks so much for getting in touch. I'd really love to get some opinions on an article I'm working on. I have it saved on my Sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Angelariedle/sandbox. Before I submit it for approval it would be great to get feedback as I'm quite new to Wikipedia. Angelariedle (talk) 18:58, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome, Angelariedle! I have few suggestions for your article:
  • The lead section could use a little beefing up. What main company(s) is he known for working at/directing? What awards has he received? His most famous work? Basically, in the lead section you want to summarize why he is notable (and hence why he is on Wikipedia).
  • The first letter of all the words in headings should not be capitalized, but instead be written like you would write a sentence (eg. "Community service" not "Community Service")
  • There really shouldn't be a list of "Related articles" at the bottom. Try to either incorporate these like the other references or maybe include a "General references" section at the bottom instead.
  • Don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia :) This creates a cross-reference web and causes Wikipedia to become unreliable. Instead, if you want to link to a Wikipedia article in an article, use internal links. This is an example of an internal link to the Wikipedia page about apples: Apples are delicious. To make an internal link, put double brackets around the name of the article: [[apple]]. It will show up like this: apple.
I think that's enough to get you started. I hope I didn't overload you with information :) Just take it slowly and you'll get all the kinks worked out eventually. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions, or if you didn't understand what I said. Happy editing! ~ Anastasia [Missionedit] (talk) 21:34, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much Anastasia! That is all great advice and very achievable. I really appreciate all your assistanceAngelariedle (talk) 16:57, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Getting approval for article edit

Hi Anastasia. Thanks again for all your help. Could I be cheeky and ask if you think my article is ready to be submitted for approval. I'm excited to resubmit it as I've made the changes that you suggest, but at the same time want to get it right. Many thanks, AngelaAngelariedle (talk) 20:09, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nice job ;) Looks decent to me. Why don't you submit and see what the reviewer has to say about it? ~ Anastasia [Missionedit] (talk) 01:43, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much Anastasia! I'm so grateful for all your help :) Here goes!Angelariedle (talk) 11:34, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
