Hi Andy, I am participant of "Beacon of Theology 2011" competition from Jakarta Theological Seminary, Indonesia. The competition requires an interwiki to other language. I made the article James L. Fredericks in Bahasa Indonesia, and I didn't find any articles about James L. Fredericks in English, or other languages ​​I know. So, I made the article in English, and I think that the article have reliable sources. But if you want to delete it, please do it after 6 May, because the competition will end after 6 May. • You've got it back to front. Egmont Publishing is the main article - created first, most material - so you must work with that article. It's perfectly possible to change an article's title by moving it but this is a big thing, and given the very clumsy way you have been working on your articles I would strongly recommend that you discuss it first on the Egmont Publishing talk page and perhaps ask an admin to advise you. andy (talk) 14:41, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

• I didn't delete it - I'm not an administrator. Click on the article's title on your talk page to see who deleted it. As for the reasons they're made clear in the notice on your talk page - the article "does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia." • Actually, the policy has very little to say about off-AFD discussions between individuals. The policy links to the article on canvassing which defines it as something that is "systematic" and relating to a "target group", and the policy makes it clear that this is all about trying to influence the outcome of a debate. I'm surprised you took the trouble to stalk me, but if you had read the discussion between myself and Sarek in a less jaundiced manner you'd have seen that I asked for his opinion, acted on it and improved the article, as a result of which he changed his mind. She is so notable in her community, that AT&T uses her for directed marketing: [1]. I think we should be careful to avoid biases against people not of European descent who mostly speak to communities that don't speak English. If we can have this John Elway Stadium, notable only for being named after a legendary football star who went to the high school it was built for two whole years, I fail to see how she fails the criteria. Using Wikipedia for advertising or promotion.

Dear Andy,

Thank you for your comments however I am confused can you please help me meet you criteria for a good wikipedia page. I have always tried to maintain integrity on this page and I do not want nor intend to use Wikipedia as advertising just a record of my exhibition, achievements and charity donations.

Regarding meeting notability criteria,

I am the only Visual Artist / photographer to exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show to date with a concept garden dedicated to their work. I am the only UK based Visual Artist / photographer producing work at sizes up to 10' x 5' My charitable donations total £30,000 GBP the in particular The Children’s Acute Transport Service donation in June of this year was their largest single donation nearly £13,000 GBP and came from the sale of one photograph. I can provide proof of all donations if you need them. The Marie Curie Cancer Care Auction at The Royal Academy of Arts 2011 which was by Invitation saw my work appear alongside Barbara Rae, Sara Rossberg, Prof Ken Howard, Prof Chris Orr, Mary Fedden, Damien Hirst, Dame Elizabeth Blackadder and Sir Hugh Casson most of whom have Wikipidea pages of their own.. The PhotoVoice Auction of Exceptional Photographs 2010 which was by Invitation saw my work appear alongside top contemporary photographers most of whom have Wikipedia pages of their own. I am the only landscape photographer to have had two west end solo shows ever. These are not self funded show but curated shows by a gallery with a 30 year pedigree. At my 2009 solo show I produced the largest picture of it's kind ever finished in the UK. At my 2011 solo show I produced the first ever circular pictures of there kind. I am the only Irish born photographer to exhibit at Art London, London Art Fair and Affordable Art fair in the same year, other than Frieze these are the top Art Fairs of their kind in the UK and are Highly vetted. This year will be my fourth taking part in most of these fairs My sold out works are equivalent to half a million pounds worth of retail sales and it is only a matter of time before my work appears on the secondary market trough private auctions and in this context I feel it is important to list them.

Again I don't understand why you have deleted recent links on charity websites I have indeed donated the proceeds of my work to them and I had included links to Justgiving.com website where you can see the actual donations made.

Regarding awards - the information there is all correct, I understand some come under Shortlisted or Finalist but I think these statements are clear and I can provide proof of awards if you need them.

• First of all, you should not be creating articles about yourself - see WP:COI. And secondly, it's not enough that references should be true, they should also be important. Thank you for the pointers, aside from creating the page myself which was a misunderstanding on my part, do you not agree in the context of Art / Photography and charity fundraising a lot of these achievements are important.

You deleted a link back on 'Marie Curie Cancer Care' ! Having my work included along side Damien Hirst and Sir Hugh Casson at the The Royal Academy which is the ultimate art institution in the UK if not the world. Having been involved with them I am now working with them to use my work in the recently commissioned Solihull Hospice. Lady Cotton, Specialist Projects Leader has personally asked me because she can see the difference to patients my work can make. Again to consider my artwork in the context of Complementary therapy is again important not only to the Art world but anyone suffering from cancer/terminal illness.

Similarly you called links on The Children’s Acute Transport Service 'self promotion' this was their largest single donation nearly £13,000 GBP and came from the sale of one photograph. Surely this is important information and not self promotion as you say?

In fact all the links on the charity pages were provided as my page was considered orphan because I wasn't linked back to by other Wikipedia pages it is my contention that these links are valid and should stand?

I have stated my case in my previous message and again here, if you still think I don't deserve a mention on Wikipedia then delete away.

• It's not a question of deleting for the sake of deleting. Wikipedia has policies and guidelines. I mentioned two of them above. As for self promotion what could be clearer? You wrote the main article about yourself and you edited articles to inform people about what you'd done. I presume that hence the source is reliable, but otherwise the book by Pinson Linda must count as a reliable source, in which case I wonder if her book details could be put as the source in that edit entry? proposed deletion

Andy, you have proposed to delete the page describing the Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner credential due to lack of backing. If you would read further through the site you will find that this credential was created (and is backed) by the two most prominent Human Services associations and the Center for Credentialing and Education which holds several independent credentials and is overseen by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Each of these Human Services bodies have pages or links to the HS-BCP credential site and the board members of both bodies hold this credential. These are the most prominent bodies in the Human Services field. Contest for 'Hair Thinning'

Hi Andy,

Thank you for your guidance about my recent Wikipedia entry: ‘Hair Thinning’ and your advice on contestations.

My article is a response to the growth of ‘thinning hair’ as a term and a topic, both in the United States and increasingly elsewhere. This is clearly evident in Google search results and forums such as Yahoo Answers, where users are openly discussing ‘hair thinning’ as opposed to just ‘baldness’. I feel there’s a need to help users searching for the term online and direct them to useful information.

‘Baldness’ and ‘hair thinning’, although related, are distinct subjects, with the latter being a subcategory within the former. People experiencing thinning are not necessarily ‘balding’, and accordingly, the ‘hair thinning’ article highlights information omitted within ‘baldness’, such as the effect of lifestyle, medications and scalp hygiene, and the early-warning signs to look out for.

However, I appreciate that my article may not have made this distinction clear enough, and have revised it to include a new section: ‘Types of Hair Thinning’, taking care to avoid any overlap with baldness and include only necessary and new information (including telogen effluvium and other types of alopecia omitted from ‘baldness’).

I would welcome your recommendations for further revisions to the ‘hair thinning’ article in order to make it fit for publishing on Wikipedia.

• I'm not an expert (although my hair is thinning) but IMHO you should be incorporating this material into Baldness as far as possible. There's already lots of related material there, and related articles such as Management of baldness. I don't see why we need a separate article. andy (talk) 13:32, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
