Spam in Vila Sol edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Vila Sol, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Vila Sol is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. advice edit

I see the page as [1] and I do not sew a GNU license. Did you copy it from them, and assert your license regardless, or did they copy it from you, and then add their notice, in which case your transfer is valid, andtheir notice is not.
But in any case the article is not accepted, for it is purely promotional--the content is an advertiswment for them, extolling its merits, no tthe sort of desciption one finds in encyclopedias.P lease see our FAQ (on businesses and other organisations)for the distinction, & how to writes auch articles.

This seems to apply to all the golf course articles you have written. For more information about how to write for wp , see our guide to writing Wikipedia articles. Some rough guides: if it contains adjectives of praise, it's written wrong for us. If it would make a good website, it won't do here. If it deals with the pleasures for a tourist, it's a travel guide, a not an encyclopedia article. An encyclopedia article must have 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases, or material based on press releases) to show its importance, not just references to its web siteor travel guides. Final warning response!! edit

Could you explain me why you gave me that warning?
I don't understand, I'm contributing with useful information on Portugal Golf Courses and your just deleting without any sense at all.
This is a very useful and non commercial information. I think all readers will be thankful for that information. Please don't delete it.
But once again, why you want to delete the golf course articles? And help at least try to help me or give some guidance if I'm doing something wrong! Andrett (talk) 10:21, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • The problem is that the articles are very promotional in tone and they are concerning non notable golf courses. Wikipedia does not have an article on every golf course in the world nor would it be appropriate for it to have such articles. Please read WP:NOTABILITY. Thank you. --Paste Let’s have a chat. 10:26, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks for the response. I will be more careful in the future.

If you think it's non notable feel free to delete, I only hope you're not going to delete all of them :).Andrett (talk) 10:59, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

    • There are two problems, one is non=nenotability, and the other promotion. We do not usually delete golf courses for lack of notability via speedy deletion, for they are not among the sorts of things listed as deletable that way, which are only real people, groups, organizations, and web content. They can however be deleted via regular deletion, which can be because the do not meet the WP:N notability guidelines. What is essentially needed for that is to show their importance by having at least two sources giving them substantial coverage in 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases, or material based on press releases). A source that describes al the golf clubs in an area is usually considered indiscriminate, and we generally do not consider its coverage to be reliable.
But articles can be deleted via speedy deletion if they are primarily promotional, and I explained above what that means: it must not be an advertiswment for them, extolling its merits, no tthe sort of desciption one finds in encyclopedias. Please see our FAQ (on things like this) for the distinction, & how to writes auch articles.

This seems to apply to all the golf course articles you have written. For more information about how to write for wp , see our guide to writing Wikipedia articles.. Some rough guides: if it contains adjectives of praise, it's written wrong for us. If it would make a good website, it won't do here. If it deals with the pleasures for a tourist, it's a travel guide, a not an encyclopedia article. You have been cop[ying them from a source to which you claim the copyright, a tourist guide to all Portughese golf courses. Even the one after my advice above, it contains parts like ". The final result is a delightful par 71 golf course of 5.500mt (6.100 yards). The course was official opened in March 2000. This course offers a pleasant experience, to players of all standards. The course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning. The Penn A4 greens and tees are simply superb. The fairways of Bermuda Sahara and cool-season grasses provide good lies for wood and iron shots. " This is advertising-style writing and is not acceptable here. You have to write like you would expect to find it in an encyclopedia. This can normally not be done by selecting from the website, which is specifically intended for promotion. You've got to write it over entirely. By the way, a detailed listing of the individual holes is not considered suitable content. Speedy deletion of Morgado Golf edit

A tag has been placed on Morgado Golf, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

War Edition at Dili edit

Users J. Patrick Fischer (talk) Merbabu (talk) and Darwinius (talk) are removing systematically the symbols of the city alleging they are not used anymore. The problem is that they doesn´t quote any relevant source to remove the symbols and prove they are not used anymore, despite there´s a law supporting them. I gave the data, he is disputing it, just for personal taste. Domaleixo (talk) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.41.242.19 (talk) 14:22, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:05, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
