Notability of Intelligentsia (band) edit

A tag has been placed on Intelligentsia (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pmedema (talk) 19:52, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • OK...you have hung on and have added to the article. That's very good but could you now please show notability, citations and resources. --Pmedema (talk) 20:20, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Intelligentsia (band) edit

I have nominated Intelligentsia (band), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Intelligentsia (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. first of all, the wikipedia site is somewhat confusing on where to talk and communicate. (Talking as someone who has designed GUI's for video games)  :-) Secondly you may have to give us some time to understand your system.

On the notion on "notability" does this address only USA-centric notability? or is it a world thing?, because the question then is; shouldn't Japanese and Europeans being moderating our input, because only Japanese for example would know how the Intelligentsia group is featured in the national media etc. Or Europeans/British etc.

that aside, there lots of articles to add, just needs time, for various members in the organization to add.

It is notable however that the intelligentsia futurist group is very right brained and not left brained as Wikipedia represents, so it may be hard to communicate just why its members are notable. As you can see even the way I'm writing is right brained  ;-) (not logical but scatty)

The intelligentsia groups promotes those on the vanguard of futurism, and new technology, so new ideas are hard to get over to people not interested or open to such.

E.g. Chris Currell (USA) is a member (inventor of the Z-Tar/digital guitar) and was in Michael Jackson's band. or Nathan McCree (UK) is part of the worldwidekind project (musician for mass hit, Tomb Raider) or Susumu Hirasawa (famous Japanese pioneer, in music and technology) (see recent hollywood movie PAPRIKA) or Morley Robertson (electronic music / Harvard & Tokyo uni) National radio DJ and TV presenter, who runs the ONLY progressive music show in Japanese national radio

(and is the only American in the Japanese media doing such. I.E. Timothy Leary was on his show)

or the design/use/promotion of new instruments like the Animazoo/ Gypsy Midi controller (as bought by NASA) and featured heavily in the Danish national press. These are very notable things.

although, pardon if the jargon of wikipedia is not understood properly at this time.  :-)
