Thanks, and... edit

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

...I hope The Grinch doesn't steal away your Christmas! ♠ SG →Talk 19:09, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're on the top 10 or something aren't you? How do you get your name on the thing? I think I've gotten a pretty good score.... oy, my head.... So, your help would be appreciated. Thanks AndonicO. Retirement edit

Yes, I as I said in my retirement statement there were "no" wiki reasons on why I would leave. I am just going through a tough time and I just didn't want wikipedia making it harder. I honestly was going to quit as I was very serious and the decision took me a long time to think about. But a slew of people requested I stay and I realized that I am needed here. So yeah I am not retiring and I doubt I will try to do it again :D. Cheers to unretirement and I hope you had a Merry Christmas! — Arjun 13:49, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template:AndonicO's Happy Holidays template edit

I removed the floating box because it was floating around aimlessly on users' talk pages and making posting cumbersome. I also recommend you go and subst all those inclusions so that the template itself can be deleted. This has clearly no encyclopedic purpose. ~ trialsanderrors 20:57, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll have to second that. --Tewy 21:10, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Re: I second that you subst those talk pages, and it wouldn't hurt to delete the template. If you don't want to delete it, then you can make a subpage on your userspace and keep it there. --Tewy 21:16, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Moving into user space won't fix it, unless it's done by hand (change all transclusions to the new address). ~ trialsanderrors 23:26, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
What would that do? Should I already know that? | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 23:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's what I meant. My idea was to subst each template, so that nothing transcluded the template. Once that was done, the code for the template could be stored in the user space for future use. But yes, if the pages weren't subst'ed, then the links would have to be changed. --Tewy 01:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Re: And in response to your last comment, yes, subst'ing a template copies the code as it was at the time of transcluding directly into the page. (See this.) --Tewy 01:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Substing a template is to include a "subst:" before the template name in the brackets: {{subst:AndonicO's Happy Holidays template}}. That way the wikicode gets posted into the page instead of a link to the template. ~ trialsanderrors 01:43, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template:AndonicO's Happy Holidays template has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. ~ trialsanderrors 06:49, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your TfD, Wikipedia and Citizendium edit

<snorts> Even the Pokémon templates are getting it too. Looks like Citizendium's scaring some Wikipedians up no end, eh? If Wikipedia loses to Citizendium, I'll never believe it. Even harder to believe, however, is that Wikipedia can actually surpass Citizendium. You'd think that Wikipedia is democracy, and Citizendium is meritocracy. There appear to be relations as far as I'm concerned. -- Altiris Exeunt 12:18, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, I think Citizendium's pretty real, so we'd better get ready for it. If we even fuss over small things like that AfD on Why1991's Mystery Game, we'll be mowed down. I may adhere to the NPOV, but for this instance, I find it very hard not to take sides. -- Altiris Exeunt 12:39, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

It's great! All you have to do is create a template for it (ex: {tl|{User Sig Collect}} This would be added with {{User Sig Collect}} ), like the "official" userboxes. | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 10:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Christmas Greetings (belated) edit

User:Bearly541/christmastemplate

Could you put yours on my talk page? Thanks! Bearly541 19:03, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow, it's going to be deleted? Why don't you move it to a subpage like I have with my Christmas Template? (i.e. {{User:Bearly541/christmastemplate}}) Bearly541 19:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
It does the same as a regular template. Hold, I will make you one. Bearly541 19:23, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, go to:{{User:AndonicO/christmastemplate}}, and see what you can find! Bearly541 19:25, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
The old user template on Main Space will be deleted b/c it is taking up server space. The one that you saved on your user account won't be deleted because it is saved in your user pages. If you left the user code on people's pages after the template page on mainspace has been deleted, I would ask a user with a bot like User:Werdna, User:AlphaChimp, et. al. (Alpha Chimp is your best bet because he is online now) to use the bot to replace the code, or you can do it the old fashioned way and look at the edit history.
