May 2010 edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. WackyWace talk 09:30, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Language reference desk edit

Phil,

When posting questions about what an uncommon phrase at the language reference desk, such as WP:RD/L#Out-Google Google? and WP:RD/L#'Foot-perfect'?, it would really help if you provided a link or a brief quotation of the context in which the phrase was used. Your user name edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username (Analphil) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it may be read as "Anal Phil" and taken as a reference to anal sex, which could be offensive to other users. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. As you still have very few edits under this name, applying for a user name change may be best (if you agree that your current user name is problematic). Thanks! —Angr (talk) 16:06, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have used this username for a long time(of course, not here) to mean ANALytic PHILosophy, and I mean it. If it still seems problematic, please let me know.--Analphil (talk) 17:56, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
The name doesn't bother me personally, but as I said, it may bother other people. If no one else complains about it, well and good, but if other people do complain about it, you might consider changing it to something else, like User:Analytic Philosophy (which is not taken yet). —Angr (talk) 19:03, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I would consider.--Analphil (talk) 20:09, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
