13:06:58, 4 September 2015 review of submission by Kanika007

I have added secondary sources to the draft. Please help me on getting better sources and taking this page live. Kanika007 (talk) 13:06, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

N Can't help Hi Kanika007, I do not contribute to draft articles and the drafts are supposed to be done by the page creator as I'm not the creator of page and I'm the reviewer, Therefore, If you need help regarding the article, you can seek help at WP:AFCHD and there are other editors who are contributing to stub articles. You shouldn't share your personal information (i.e emails) here Because it violates WP:EMAILABUSE and this may expose your personal details that could result in your account to be compromised. 15:00:29, 4 September 2015 review of submission by Elisaclark

Can you please help me understand which sources for this article are not reliable? I've read through the wikipedia articles for reliable sources and citations and am still unclear which citations in this article are problematic. Thank you in advance for your help with this.Elisaclark (talk) 15:00, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Elisaclark (talk) 15:00, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Comment: Hi Elisaclark, Reliable sources are usually trustworthy sources such as famous newspapers, notability articles, corporate press release, Take look at WP:REF, There are various sections explaining how to use the cite on articles, Since cites are really important to the editors it's used to verify the contents whether they're true or not. Therefore, the article you have submitted was nearly verifiable, But the references you have given are used in improper manner take look at WP:REFB on that article you can see how the Reference should be used and what are not, In your article there are lot of bare links which actually ugly, So you should use it in a proper format that will help other readers to read the title, dates, author and web source before clicking on the reference. You should never use Wikipedia as reference; example you did: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaza_del_Lago on your reference list, that's strictly not allowed, thus, you should use it as internal URL. MONARCH Ask me 15:32, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Regarding https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:James_A._Storer

I have added the secondary verifiable sources for the reference --

  • I have included official University Faculty Guide link for his current employment.
  • I have included, list of IEEE Conference papers written by the professor, to reference his contributions to Data Compression Conference. I have included a front page of the Conference publication to show that he was the Chair of the conference.
  • Regarding him being the inventor of first Lunar Landar game, I have included many sources, articles, periodicals which cite the same. Also Wikipedia's page on Lunar Lander video game series (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Lander_(video_game_series), already mentions his name (see section Lundar Lander (1969) "Lunar was originally written in the FOCAL programming language for the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) PDP-8 computer by Jim Storer while a student at Lexington High School (Massachusetts) in the fall of 1969", but I have not cited wikipedia as source but cited the original sources that were cited in that Wikipedia article.
  • Regarding the books he wrote, I have mentioned the books, like APA style referencing, I am not sure what reference link to provide for them, perhaps Amazon.com or Google books, please let me know.
  • Regarding the patents, I have provided one link which summarizes all the patents. I thought giving individual reference for all the patents by him using US Patent and Trademark Office might make the page very messy.
  • Regarding him being the Expert Witness in Apple vs Samsung case, I have cited the CNET article which mentions his name and also has a small interview section from the expert witness of the trials. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamaaditya (talkcontribs) 02:38, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

15:05:52, 5 September 2015 review of submission by Horse Attack Mark

Horse Attack Mark (talk) 15:05, 5 September 2015 (UTC) I had previously submitted a short Bio for Richard Pick which was deemed not verifiable. I deleted the bio and submitted only material verifiable in the publication and the ISBN number. My aim was to get a short article through the process and then add as time allows. I do not understand why this 'bare bones' article was rejected.

Respond Hello Horse Attack Mark, Your article fails to meet minimum criteria of WP:GNG, Therefore, you should take a moment by looking at the comments given by other reviewers in that article, Moreover, You shouldn't submit this article for review without considering to add the references for its verification, If you didn't follow the instructions given by other editors, Your article may be rejected again in case if you submit again without making further improvements. Therefore, You should consider adding more reference relating to biography of Draft:Richard Pick (musician), If you repeatedly continue to disregard the request made by reviewers, Your articles will be declined by other editors from publishing. MONARCH Ask me 06:40, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
User:Horse Attack Mark, you have the right idea, and your strategy is sound, but I agree with Alpha_Monarch, the fundamental problem is that you have a single reference. Which is a book, with an ISBN, and thus seems legit at first, but the problem is that reference was authored by Pick himself, and that there is only one reference. See the shorthand at WP:42, which says what to look for: multiple independent in-depth WP:SOURCES. You need stuff like newspapers (name of journalist / page / title of piece date of piece / publisher ... can be online or off) that give reviews of Pick's concert, or magazines (online or off) that give reviews of Pick's book, or television newscasts where Pick got some coverage. That sort of thing. Also, academic papers from Chicago School of Music, or from Depaul, or similar, those are useful see WP:SCHOLARSHIP.
But in a nutshell, the stuff you need to find, must include *multiple* citations -- at least three is the wiki-tradition. Furthermore, they have to be *independent* citations -- pieces by journalists/professors/editors/publishers that were NOT paid by Pick (or kinfolks Pick). Finally, they have to be *in-depth* with details, not just his name and a concert-date, for instance, but his name and the concert date and a few paragraphs about the music and some information about the kind of guitar style he teaches, that sort of thing. Does that make sense? Being true, is not enough, for some piece of information to be included in wikipedia. You also need to find some JOURNALIST who published a sentence about that specific bit of truth, at some point. See WP:SOURCES for the type of thing you are looking for. You can also ask more questions at WP:TEAHOUSE, if you are still unsure what is needed. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 17:52, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Draft:Jack_Flanagan_(New_Hampshire_politician)

Hello Alpha_Monarch, since the draft is five sentences I'll just list them.

  • s1 == Jack Flanagan is a politician from Brookline, New Hampshire.
  • s2 == Since December 2014, Flanagan has held the position of been majority leader (second to the Speaker of the House) in the New Hampshire House of Representatives;
  • s2 == in that capacity Flanagan also sits is on the New Hampshire Republican State Committee.
  • s3 == Flanagan is a Republican, representing Hillsborough 26 since 2010.
  • s4 == Previously, Flanagan was on the Brookline board of Selectmen through 2013.
  • s5 == In August 2015, Flanagan endorsed Kasich'16 for president.

Can you give advice on specifically what you want fixed? Or just be WP:BOLD and fix it up? The reason I used 'in that capacity' is because, as I understand NH politics, the NHRSC seat is something that automatically comes with being majority leader. Similarly, the reason that we should mention majority leader is 2nd in command among the NH house repubs, is that the majority leader is *appointed* by the speaker. They aren't just the boss, they are the sole decider, in other words. Happy to help WP:TONE up the five sentences, but please help in concrete fashion, by saying what sentence-fragments need work. Thanks, 75.108.94.227 (talk) 11:07, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

@75.108.94.227: The article you have submitted is out of encyclopaedia's tone and style of writing, You have clearly gone for WP:BOMBARD by creating large reference, That's not how Wikipedia works 😩, Now let's getting started with reference – The article's references are usually created by following this instruction, I'm certainly aware this politician is clearly notable and it meets WP:POLITICIAN and passed minimum certeria of WP:GNG, But you have not written the article in a proper layout, you should take look at WP:LAYOUT to create a better styled article in an encyclopaedia tone. Each paragraph must be referenced with reliable sources (It must be third-party independent news) to conform the wikipedia's policies and guidelines, When you have done all of these changes, your article can be published to mainspace and will ensure that it meets the WP:GNG so the article will not be tagged for speedy deletion by other editors who oppose it's the notability. Once you have done all these necessary changes, You can re-submit the draft again and notify me through this thread. I will follow up through this process to publish it.
I would encourage you to register new wikipedia account instead of editing via IP Address, This can create you a better record of history for your contributions to Wikipedia so all of your article will be tied under your username instead of IP Address which is temporarily used, that probably will wash away your edits on Wikipedia, because IP Addresses are not permanent. Where they disappear if you move to new location or computer. Good Luck! MONARCH Ask me 11:52, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi AlphaMonarch, the {{ping}} template does not work for IP addresses, you can use {{talkback}} as a workaround if you like. Personally, I just keep a mental list of which conversations I'm having at the moment. As for the specifics, I'm not trying to WP:BOMBARD, what I'm trying to do is WP:GENREF -- "In underdeveloped articles, a general references section may exist even though no inline citations at all have yet been added... disadvantage of using general references alone is that text–source integrity is lost, unless the article is very short." Five sentences is very short.  :-)     Also, I believe I am following WP:LAYOUT already: "A simple article should have at least two elements: lead and references." The five sentences *are* a WP:STUB (or maybe WP:STARTCLASS), the body-prose will definitely need expansion, once it is in mainspace, though probably the actual expansion-work will be done by some wikipedian who is from New Hampshire, and knows local politics better than me. Anyways, I agree that Flanagan meets WP:POLITICIAN criteria#1, and also probably criteria#3. Does this make sense? I agree the article needs expansion (five sentences from fifteen refs is silly), and during that expansion-work should get inline-referencing, section-layout, and other improvements. But I think the place for those improvements is mainspace, by WP:ANYONE, not draftspace. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 12:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Hello – Well, take an example from Ranil Jayawardena a British Parliamentarian very similar to Jack Flanagan's article, See Ranil's page how the page creator styled the article and that's how Articles are supposed to be as WP:STUB, These improvement are in draftspace, that should be done by you not other editors, Once your article is published to mainspace then other editors will arrive to the article to expand it, But if i accept the article right now, there will be more oppositions against this contribution because the article doesn't simply meet the encyclopaedia's tone and style of writing which may result in proposed for deletion. Regarding the criteria on WP:POLITICIAN, The three are the minimum requirements for a politician, It doesn't matter whether all should be met, But it's important one of these criteria should be met which is consider as stub or probably start-class. So it can be published, unless if it conforms the WP:GNG MONARCH Ask me 15:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
You are incorrect about wikipedia policy: AfC is for helping beginning editors learn to comply with policy, and learn how wikipedia works. I already know how wikipedia works, and the stub article was already correct according to wikipedia policy. It would easily pass AfD, with no trouble, because AfD is not for cleanup.
In any case, as you requested, I have re-formatted the prose to add the WP:MOS-guideline related to sections. Also, as you requested, I've re-formatted the refs, for inline use. Do you have other changes that are necessary, immediately? I've added the stub-tag and the expansion tags, so as soon as the draft is mainspaced, people can improve it. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 17:05, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Done All is good, The article will be moved to mainspace in a moment. MONARCH 17:14, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, appreciated. I think the tags will call in some people to clean it up, but then, WP:NORUSH. There will be time for clean-up. If you are worried that it might not pass WP:42, go ahead and mark the article for AfD, so that some other editors can weigh in on whether Flanagan has wiki-notability, I won't mind. But he definitely satisfies WP:POLITICIAN#1, and probably satisfies WP:GNG, so I think it will be snow-keep. Seriously though, if you have doubts about the wiki-notability, I urge you to put it into AfD, so that you can hear feedback from other experienced editors. I might be wrong!  :-)     Either way, appreciate your time working with me on the piece, I think it is better now that we've specified that Flanagan was appointed and such with inline refs. Talk to you later, 75.108.94.227 (talk) 17:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I don't think this article is needed for AfD, Its no point of wasting other editor's time as I'm experienced enough to know the notability of this politician. Anyway, You're welcome   MONARCH 18:09, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, once you are a state-level representative (which in NH needs about 1500 votes if my memory is correct!) you pass WP:POLITICIAN. It's kind of like the rule about WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES for high schools. Thanks again, see you around the 'pedia.  ;-)     75.108.94.227 (talk) 19:25, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

15:52, 6 September 2015‎review of submission by RadRacer20xx

RadRacer20xx (talk) 15:52, 6 September 2015‎ (UTC)

Hi Alpha Monarch, can you please clarify why my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Creative_Mobile was declined?

All my citations are from secondary reliable sources that are entirely independent of the subject (As recommended by Sulfurboy in my previous submission) The article meets all the criteria set out in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:CORP is is comparable to articles of similar Gaming studios:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halfbrick_Studios http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiloo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backflip_Studios http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rovio_Entertainment

Hello RadRacer20xx – I have explained why the article is declined, The Creative Mobile doesn't simply comply the WP:GNG and WP:CORP, I don't think as you claimed that it meets all criteria in WP:CORP, since the company is in CONFUSION with Creative Mobile Technologies and the notability of “Creative Mobile” always does have direct involvement with Creative Mobile Technologies in Google, News, Wikipedia and other sites which involves conflict of interest and it leads me to deny the article because of lack of notability and conflict of interest in company naming which does thinks that company MOS:TM is a parody and both companies uses similar Trademark prefixes in naming despite of being different type of platform/corporation. Thus, I'm unable to verify it's the notability of Creative Mobile, I understand that other companies are popular such as Halfbrick Studios, Kiloo, Backflip Studios and Rovio Entertainment, these are because they have entered the mainstream media which boost their notability through increasing the popularity of their video games which grants easy promotion of their games through mainstream media. Whereas the Creative Mobile doesn't have any influent in mainstream media to tackle the confusion with Creative Mobile Technologies. Probably now it's way too early to create such article for this company because we need to await for it's growth of popularity through mainstream that would make any other editors easier to verify it's the popularity through the system in Wiki. MONARCH Ask me 12:51, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi Alpha Monarch thanks for the clarification! I wasn't aware of this other company, if the article was instead titled 'Creative Mobile Games' would that be suitable to avoid any possible confusion with Creative Mobile Technologies and make it more likely to be accepted? RadRacer20xx
Respond You can't change to Creative Mobile Games and it's not acceptable because it needs to be same title as the original creator of the games. MONARCH Ask me 15:33, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
User:RadRacer20xx, of course the article-title can be changed... but what AlphaMonarch ought to have said, was that the article-title will (eventually) be changed by a reviewer when they mainspace the draft (aka move it from Draft:Creative_Mobile to a final location such as Creative Mobile Games. *If* there are only those two easy-to-confuse companies, then a 'hatnote' at the top is sufficient to disambiguate between them. See for example the {{confuse}} helpdocs, or the use of them I've made at Draft:Jack Flanagan (New Hampshire politician). Put something like that {{confuse}} into your draft-article, plus put an {{afc_comment}} into your draft-article saying that the title might need tweaking, and the naming-problem is solved.
AlphaMonarch is *also* asserting that you have failed to pass WP:42, which is the more crucial difficulty. Do you have newspapers / magazines / books / teevee / radio / academia / governments / etc , which are specifically discussing (with multi-paragraph depth) the corporation/people/products of Creative Mobile Games, and are 100% financially (and otherwise) independent authors / editors / publishers? Press releases, facebook, youtube, blogs, that sort of stuff -- not acceptable as WP:RS aka wiki-reliable WP:SOURCES. You need several of them, with significant depth, to have a dedicated article. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 17:13, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks User:75.108.94.227 I will look through those examples and make those edits.
Hi Alpha Monarch as I understand the company's legal name is Creative Mobile OÜ, Commonly called 'Creative Mobile' or alternatively 'Creative Mobile Games' and also can be included in the WikiProject Estonia ?

Hi RadRacer20xx – You can't use the alternative name on main space, But you can use it as redirect page. Yes, You need to use the legal name in the article. I will add this article to WikiProject Estonia, once it's approved.  MONARCH Talk to me 15:32, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

12:24:21, 7 September 2015 review of submission by Makeamericagreatagain

TheLiberal.ie is a well-established media website in Ireland. They are a legitimate, nationally recognized news source and have a vast readership of over 1 million unique users a month, and growing, as well as a social media following of over 230,000 readers (www.facebook.com/TheLiberal.ie & http://twitter.com/TheLiberal_ie). With regard to content and niche, they may be compared to Breitbart, with a 'right-of-center' point of view.

The Wikipedia entry for The Liberal was submitted and rejected for notability several times, with a comment on the references not being sufficient to prove notability. (One reviewer did mention that the website was notable, however the references weren't sufficient. Since that, better references were added.) I'd like to note here that strictly online news media of Irish origin is a relatively new concept in Ireland, where the primary sources of news are still newspaper and television and internationally syndicated online sources like the BBC and CNN. Websites like The Liberal are a relatively new concept when compared to their US counterparts. Therefore, to get extensive references from various sources is neither easy, nor practical. However, does this make the website any less legitimate or notable? The Liberal has been cross referenced in Irish Central and featured in Spirit Radio, Tech Buzz Ireland, Ireland's Technology Blog, and DigitalTimes.ie. The references for those have been provided. It was also nominated for an SME award. Please do note, their counterparts, TheJournal.ie, have a Wikipedia entry that is live and has just as few references: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheJournal.ie.

While I understand the need for objectivity, the guidelines for writing an entry, and the requirement that articles not be of a self-promoting nature, I vehemently believe that the entry that was submitted is factual, verifiable, simply introduces the website without promoting it, and the references back up its notability. Would you please reconsider it, and provide me some feedback? I'd truly appreciate it.

Thanks

If Chris (sheep) should be deleted, so should Shrek (sheep). Please see my reasons on the article talk page where I contested...--Sιgε |д・) 19:26, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

@Sigehelmus: The article based on single event which is an evident of WP:SINGLEEVENT, If you think your article should not be deleted, then you should submit your fully completed draft at WP:AFC and then a reviewer will conduct a full search on it's the notability and ensure that passes the WP:GNG. Regarding the article for Shrek (sheep) that article was fully completed as stub article and whereas yours haven't completed which falls under WP:A7 since it lacks notability and unable to pass WP:GNG in an incomplete article. MONARCH 19:39, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure why would the article need to be about the shearing and not the sheep itself? Also doesn't limiting this go against WP:PAPER? Tagging of Chris (sheep)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Chris (sheep). I do not think that Chris (sheep) fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because "gained international fame in September 2015 after being sheared of a record amount of wool" is a claim of significance. I request that you consider not re-tagging Chris (sheep) for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. Please remember that the standard under WP:CAS#A7 is not notability, but a claim of significance, which is a much lower bar, for example no sources are required to avoid an A7. Asian Trade Promotion Forum

I removed the speedy because it said that this was to be moved over. That is a non-Wikipedia page and can't be moved. Asserted to be non-controversial maintenance. See CSD G6." You wanted {{Db-g12|url=source URL}} or {{Db-copyvio|url=source URL}} for a copyright. Hello, I was the creater of Asian Trade Promotion Forum page. The page had sufficient references, of reliable sources. The Organisation is important as it a multi-national forum of Trade Promotion Bodies, most of which are notable and already have wikipedia pages. The page already had many wikipedia links and many other wikipedia pages were linked to Asian Trade Promotion Forum, those links are dead now. However, the reason for speedy deletion is beyond my understanding. Flag icons in infoboxes

Hi I just wanted to let you know that I removed flag icons in infoboxes per the guideline WP:INFOBOXFLAG where it states that flag icons should not be used in nfoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field, as they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many. And this is known to cause infobox clutter in many articles. I initially thought you reverted me because a change was made to the guideline. Regards, --Chamith (talk) 16:19, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

@ChamithN: The list of current cabinet is here (it's used as template) and that's being used at cabinet of Sri Lanka, So you need to help with clearing up old cabinet ministers that were ended in 17 August 2015. I'm finding difficult to do this because my computer is too slow  , You don't need to remove old ministers where their term were ended on 17 August 2015, You just have to add the dates (end of term, add the date on "left office") in the table and if you can add newly appointed ministers to that please do by following {{Sirisena cabinet}} and that's the latest updated version (I have updated it)... Cheers   MONARCH 16:40, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

@ChamithN: Yes  , The template has latest date, But the one on Sirisena cabinet all are outdated after new appointment. Please help with this only. MONARCH 13:02, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm wondering why you wouldn't substitute the template as a whole rather than updating the obsolete table. -- Chamith (talk) 17:04, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
@ChamithN: I created the new template because the contents at cabinet of Sri Lanka will get messed if i a create large table, that would affect the surrounding contents. As a result of that i did move the table into template. MONARCH 18:24, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
I updated a single entry just now. And I want to know whether that's how you wanted me to do it, before I proceed to other entries. -- Chamith (talk) 17:19, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
@ChamithN: The one you made entry for Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, He was appointed as State Minister, You need to create new one in the State Minister table and he was previously served as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs which his term has ended on 17 August 2015. Any new parliamentarians who were appointed from previous cabinet should be updated with their respective portfolios.
For example Harsha de Silva previously served as Deputy Minister of Policy Planning, Economics Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs, You can use rowspan to create new ministry in the existing table under previously served position add new one (i.e Deputy Foreign Affairs), and Sujeewa Senasinghe previously served as Deputy Minister of Justice and now he got new portfolio as State Minister of International Trade, So you need to create another entry on State Minister table (without removing Sujeewa on deputy, there must be added end of his term as deputy). Hope you can do it   MONARCH 18:24, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alpha Monarch. I am interested in receiving additional guidance on how to improve my article — Gorilla Capital. You left the comment: "Some references doesn't mention single word of “Gorilla Capital”, These references are distorted, and doesn't represent this company." I went through all of my references, however, and all of them do in fact mention "Gorilla Capital" and/or a subject relevant to the article. Could you also elaborate on what you meant by, "These references are distorted, and doesn't represent this company."

I look forward to your feedback. Thank you so much!

@VoxsterMatt: Your article at Draft:Gorilla Capital was declined that meant the references that you have given didn't fulfil the signficance of claim, since because the company fails to pass the WP:CORP and it lacks notablity. If you want to know how to get a notability of it's the content for Gorilla Capital, Take look at WP:CORPDEPTH and WP:ORGIND, Once you have provided along with secondary source, you can re-submit this article again for review, an another reviewer will verify the company's notability and if it passes all the minimum criteria, the article will be moved to the mainspace.   Question: @Dguiccia: The given sources above are somewhat found reliability and it passed the WP:NSCHOOL, There is last remaining issue that needs to be addressed by you, The references you have placed on article's paragraph is violating the WP:BAREURL because the given links are used as bare links which is confusing the readers, You can resolve it by following this instruction and build a proper references that is willing to comply with WP:MOS. Once it's all done, you can notify me using the {{Please see}} tag on my talk page. I'll return to this review process and verify it. MONARCH 23:41, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello, you recently declined an article I was trying to submit about a famous Arab director/producer. You cited the problem was lack of sufficient references? Can we please have a talk so you can explain to me further what I need to do for the article to be published?

Here is the link to the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Youssef_El_Deeb

Thank you

Hebaseham (talk) 08:49, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

@Hebaseham: – The article you have submitted recently for review, it didn't give any significance of claim pertaining to the biography, Also this article did have notablity by name mentions in references, But it didn't give anything pertaining to the biography which is required to have secondary source to verify the notability of this living person, One of a references you have inserted in the article did have mention of Youssef's current status of work, But it cannot be considered as reliable source, Anything about him that comes from independent newspapers, government websites and authored novel can be considered as reliable source since the appears on major search engines to consider it's the notablity and it must be in line by following WP:NOR that includes reliable of cites. If you're finding difficult to create this article that needs to comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, You can seek help at WP:AFCHD, There are other experienced editors they will able to answer your questions in regards to improvement of this article. Hi, Thank you for your comments on my article on lattice networks ( Draft: Lattice networks ) and I am disapointed that it has been rejected. Your comment on it being 'essay-like' was half a complement since I had to remaster (with some difficulty!) the art of essay writing, to submit work for a history course that I am doing. However, for Wikipedia, I shall attempt a more formal style for my resubmission.
I request some clarification regarding two points you raise. Firstly, you state that I should use relable sources. I thought I had included a reasonable number of references in my article to cover the issues that are covered in it. Secondly, you state that it should not include original research. As the article summarises the early work in the field (some of which took place nearly a century ago), I am unclear what original work the comment refers to. The diagrams are mine, to avoid copyright issues, but similar diagrams can be found in the litterature. Regards D1ofBerks (talk) 13:33, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

81.159.130.18 (talk) 13:29, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

@D1ofBerks: Thanks for your submission to AfC – Unfortunately, The references you gave didn't certain any links to independent sites in order to verify it's the contents, If you're new here on about references, you should take look at WP:REFB, there are instructions regarding the use of references, You'll also need to re-write the article in an encyclopaedic tone, The writing style of this article is actually an essay-style, You need to follow the basic article styling by following the WP:MOS' instructions. I know that you spent a lot of time by writing this whole article, But unfortunately, You should have followed basic principle from WP:MOS. In the WP:MOS, It gives you basic list of table that how to getting started with new article, also there are a lot of informative contents on creating new article (including paragraph styling, use of titles, references etc..). Once you have reached a conscious on this topic, You can re-write in an encyclopaedic tone, and styling, then re-submit the draught. Once it goes through the queue, an another reviewer will take in-charge of your article's process in moving to the mainspace. MONARCH 14:19, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ministry of Urban Development (Sri Lanka), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. obi2canibetalk contr 13:14, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give S. M. Marikkar a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Saidulla Marikkar. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. obi2canibetalk contr 18:11, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

@Obi2canibe:Thanks for the reminder, I haven't seen S.M Marikkar article until I created Saidulla Marikkar's article and made the redirect from S.M Marikkar for his initialism. I believe there was no cut-paste were made, the whole contents were solely written by me. I don't think it's necessary to merge the history from that article that has no references to comply with WP:Politician and WP:V, Therefore, I would request you reconsider and remove the tag from the article, you can contribute to Saidulla Marikkar long as it complies with core policies and guidelines.  MONARCH Talk to me 18:36, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

19:51:46, 14 September 2015 review of submission by Nxucgy

Hi there,

I'm wondering why my submission got declined due to notability again. I edited it to include secondary sources and awards won. Can you provide me some more clarification on how to increase the notability of this article?

Thanks,

Nxucgy (talk) 19:51, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Nxucgy, Thanks for your submission – I have outlined the issues that lacked notability in the article's decline template, these are because you have submitted the article with the references that is associated with this TECTERRA Inc. thereby, it got rejected. We need reliable sources that are not associated with this website, these are such as Newspapers, government websites, authored novel or unassociated biography. But blogs such self-published sources are strictly forbidden per as this WP:SELFSOURCE, You should take look at the whole article at WP:RS if you wanted to learn what is a reliable source. As well use of social media as reference is also not allowed.
My explanation on above section would elaborate what is a reliable source is. If you need any advice in this topic, you're welcome to ask me!  MONARCH Talk to me 21:14, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

21:52:15, 15 September 2015 review of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:James_A._Storer

Hi Alpha Monarch

I have updated various references about James Storer's notability and also added information pertinent to notability in field of academia. I have added the information about James Storer being Department Chair (Notability criteria number 5) and also he being the Chair of the highest impact factor conference in Data Compression from 1991 to 2012, and Co-chair from 2013 to present, this is notability criteria number 8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(academics)#Criteria

Let me know, how else I can improve the article. If more references are required, I can try to put those in too. Iamaaditya (talk) 01:50, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Iamaaditya – This professor, didn't have enough notability, I don't think he passes WP:BIO as he lacks significance of claim, We need reliable sources (see WP:RS) in order to pass WP:Bio. Mostly important that you need to find references such as from mainstream magazines, online newspapers, authored novel or Government websites that would give him enough of notability to pass WP:GNG and WP:BIO. For now I will decline your request for review, once you have meet the criteria, you can re-submit the article for review and ping me here. MONARCH Talk to me 15:21, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alpha Monarch,

Would government web sources be considered a reliable source? If the current self-published sources of information were replaced by government sources, would that be sufficient enough to pass notability?

Thanks,

Nxucgy (talk) 17:59, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Nxucgy – For example, A domain extensions with .gov or gov.co.uk like that website's can be considered as a reliable sources plus you need a secondary source that would need to be linked from the mainstream newspaper.  MONARCH Talk to me 20:24, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

AELP AfC review

Hi Alpha Monarch, thanks again for your review of my draft for American Energy Partners. Per my note back to you there, I'm wondering if you can confirm which sources you're concerned about? I'm only aware of one blog source that might be problematic, North America Shale Blog (that's one where I felt like the site showed enough signs of editorial control to pass muster under WP:RS, but I understand if you don't feel the same).

While I have used some news sites' blogs, in those cases, the blog articles were written by the sites' reporters and under editorial control of the publication. Per, WP:UGC "Some news outlets host interactive columns they call blogs, and these may be acceptable as sources so long as the writers are professional journalists or are professionals in the field on which they write and the blog is subject to the news outlet's full editorial control." Were there any sources you saw that you think didn't fit meet this criteria? Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 17:38, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Update: I reviewed and found that the other 2 sources I had for the sentence where I cited North America Shale Blog actually cover all the details, so I've simply removed it. I'll hang tight to hear back from you on any other sources that might be a concern, then hopefully once those are resolved I can resubmit. Thanks in advance. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:17, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi 16912_Rhiannon – Thanks for your submission, As you have declared that you're a paid editor for this article.
