Wild band edit

Hello Alottanothing. It may be worth writing an article at Wild (American band) but please do take a look at Wikipedia:Your first article and ensure that the Los Angeles band Wild meets WP:MUSIC notability guidelines. Thanks. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:50, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Wild (American band) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Wild (American band) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/WILDOfficialUS) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. We tried WILD (American band) but it's now up for speedy deletion even though we meet the requirements for a wiki page. Any thoughts?

Speedy deletion nomination of Wild (American band) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wild (American band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Wild edit

A band is not automatically entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because they exist. In order to be eligible for an article on here, a band has to meet at least one (preferably several, but one at minimum) of the criteria listed at WP:NMUSIC, and the article has to be referenced to substantial media coverage in multiple reliable sources — which means newspapers, music magazines and other media writing about them. But the article you submitted made no claim of notability, and cited no references apart from their own Facebook profile — which is a self-published primary source that cannot make a band notable enough to have a Wikipedia article by itself.

It's not that they will never be able have an article, trust me, but nothing in the article you wrote suggests that they would qualify to have one now. Bearcat (talk) 17:02, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
