Pesenti-Rossi

Hi, with regard to your edit summary at Alessandro Pesenti-Rossi, I'm sure that any lack of info about his earlier career in Italian F3 is not because anyone regarded him as a failure, but simply because that information was not readily available to people working on the article. Thanks Falcadore. The chassis data is my biggest concern because nobody can argue that is merely a set of "facts" that can't be copyrighted. However, I am also concerned that the results have been copied character-for-character, not reinterpreted, so this must be a breach of copyright. I can't see how this can be defended. I have just noticed that another of NigelPorter's pages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_New_Zealand_Grand_Prix) is a straight copy of a page on a page on Bruce Sergent's website (http://www.sergent.com.au/motor/tas76p.html). It's not just the results in this case but the text of the race report. It's possible that he's got Bruce's permission and, either way, it's not my business, but should this be investigated? on pillaging

Hi Allen. I just read User:Allenbrown and now feel pretty silly. I made that "we can start pillaging away" joke without realizing that you'd already given that issue a lot of thought! Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up and also note that I wouldn't have made that comment had I not found your site to be pretty cool even for someone as bored by motorsports as me. Please don't be concerned. I took it as a joke and my response was meant to be in the same vein. I do have a concern that Wikipedia can feel like a Viking invasion to editors of small specialist websites. I recently did a quick tidy up on the Black Country Society website (http://www.blackcountrysociety.co.uk/) which has a number of scholarly essays on topics close to a Black Country lad's heart such as Baggeridge Colliery. Wikipedia also has an article on Baggeridge Colliery which currently does little more than link to two Black Country Society essays and sits just behind then in Google's rankings. But one day I have no doubt that a bored teenager in Tanzania or Lithuania or Little Rock, Arkansas, will stumble across this article and decide to pillage the BCS articles to create a bigger page. Then the Wikipedia page will probably rise to No 1 on Google, the BCS pages will slip down, less people will find the BCS website and, inexorably, it will be harder for the BCS to retain its membership and to fund scholarly exploration of such subjects. So while Wikipedia plays an important role in organising the world's knowledge, it has to make sure it doesn't do that at the expense of damaging primary research. It is because of this concern that I threw my toys out of the pram when my own ORC was pillaged. Allen Brown (talk) 10:21, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Allen, I reverted the article for the Swiss F3 championship back to a start in 1978, having being induced in error by a wrong source.

Before I definitively stop to edit on Wikipedia, would you be kind to explain what you wanted to mean with what you have written in the Swiss F3 championship: "Given his record for having changes elsewhere reverted"?
