No problem. BTW, the notable alumni will need to go; generally, "notable" means "notable worldwide", not "notable at the school". The shortcut to this is (a) there should have a wikipedia article about them, or (b) they precisely conform to WP:BIO (and WP:GNG). So Alex Waelde wouldn't be "notable", but Bill Haas is.

Regarding the deleted articles at Krista Wells and The Military Spouse Coach, hopefully you remember the sequence of edits that occurred. Your revert of User:Kristawells blanking the page and subsequent warnings to her was not the correct thing to do. revert re: jumps seats

I've twice tried to correct what is obviously an error -- the line suggesting that the Kennedys were in the jump seats. Whoever wrote that must mean the Connollys, who were sitting ahead of the Kennedys in the jump seats. This is not an act of vandalism; it's a legitimate correction.

Accidental rollback error on Cyber

Hi there. I just noticed an edit you made to this article - it was vandalised by an anonymous IP, and it looks like both you and User:Capt. James T. Kirk tried to revert it at the same time. The end result was you reverting his edit, and restoring the vandalism! ([1]) I've reverted again to fix the problem, but I just thought I should point this out - it's easy to misuse rollback by mistake (I've done it a few times), so it's always worth checking your edits afterwards. :) Happy editing. ok i have examined the issue and can help you with this. it seems that we don't have to worry about the lowercase page because it has been erased. the page was erased because you're trying to create a redirect to a page that doesn't exist. if you would like to create the Western Visayas College of Science and Technology page, we could then discuss a redirect. now another issue we have our hands is that the last time you tried to make the Western Visayas College of Science and Technology is was marked for speedy deletion under article G11. please make sure that you create a factual article and NOT AN AD. remember to not violate Wiki's Spam Policy. if you need help writing your article let me know.

You can see the specific pages here, with edit summaries saying why they don't meet the criteria. And, I'm sorry, but most of these come nowhere near meeting the criteria for speedy deletion. Please listen to advice from more experienced editors rather than claim to be familiar with policy. I recognize that you are a more experienced editor but after reviewing the pages you removed my SD tags from i think that some of those pages still warrant deletion i will consider starting deletion discussions on these pages. the distinction between SD and PROD can sometimes be a difficult one.

Hello, I may not have near the experience of the other editors here, but I was shocked that you nominated an article related to Dame Shirley Bassey for speedy deletion. The article in question is here 'Disco' La Passione that also features Chris Rea, and was very close to a top 40 hit. Though from what I understand the article was brand new, not fully fleshed out when you nominated it for speedy deletion, and you quite properly suggested to the author that he use the sandbox first, Shirley Bassey is the most successful female recording artist in British history, and while that doesn't make every single she ever issued noteworthy, many are, which I think should have given you pause to nominate this article for speedy deletion. The critera that you used, A7, states "This criterion applies only to articles about web content and to articles about people, organizations, and individual animals themselves, not to articles about their books, albums, software, or other creative works." So I don't think this criteria applies to one of her recordings, and A9 states "An article about a musical recording that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant and where the artist's article does not exist. The purpose of checking new articles is to try to rescue as many poor ones as possible, and to delete the ones that cannot possibly be rescued--there are considerable numbers of each. Please read WP:Deletion policy and in particular WP:BEFORE. Nobody can actually improve them all by themselves, but what we can to is place the necessary tags for improvement--and if practical leave a specific personal note to the author about what to do to fix it. Lacking references is not a reason for deletion--unreferenceable is, and that can only be shown if you check yourself--at least a superficial check on Google if it seems appropriate for the article. (and if you check & find nothing, say so). The distinction between speedy and prod can be reasonably clear, & if it is not, it is not a speedy: if there is any sign of notability it is not speedy A7, and if it is promotional but capable of rewriting it is not G11 promotional. Speedy deletion is for the obviously hopeless. I see you are be using automated tools like twinkle--this is very convenient--I use it myself--but it makes it possible to go much too fast to check properly. I did not start using it until after several years of experience here --maybe that was excessively cautious, but you should not be using it yet, at least not for any purpose except placing tags for improvements. I appreciate all the criticism and i will accept it as constructive. i agree with you DGG, twinkle is a tool that makes things go really fast i accept that i slip up but please everyone notice all the tags i have done that are good. on top of successfully going through about a half a month of backlogged new pages. i will slow down some on the Speedy Deletion tagging to assure no more mistagging. Nyctc7, i still stand by what i said, the author should have had everything together before the initial publication of the article. all i had to go on is what i could see before me. i am not a mind reader. i'm glad to see that the article is shaping up nicely. and as far as the wrong tagging goes, that can be contributed to me going to quickly through articles. but quite frankly at the time, the article was properly tagged. unless there is anything else i will get back to editing, happy editing to all of you guys.

Fine. But remember there is no requirement that an article be built completely before entering it. I myself write my articles in mainspace, usually saving after a sentence or two, and then continuing--naturally I have enough experience to say enough there to make the notability clear, but inexperienced people may not. One thing to check is how recently the article has been written. I too often check the log of new pages from the end, and then the question is whether an article has been abandoned as undoable, or forgotten. The way to see is to do a quick look yourself for sources, and look in particular at the subject's web site to get some idea if an article can likely be written about it. If you think it can, either do it or remind the author or tag it-- & perhaps bring it to the attention of the relevant workgroup. If you think it cannot, then prod is applicable. You are not expected to be a mind reader, but you are expected to at least check any sources and web sites cited, and also the googles. Remember, checking NP is not really to weed out bad articles, but divide the hopeless from the possibly acceptable. There is of course a built in bias, because deletion is very much easier than fixing. Keep up the work, but I suggest doing it in small batches. DGG ( talk ) 14:56, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
