A tag has been placed on Amber Lounge Hospitality, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Promotion, COI, and Username policies edit

March 2017 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 13:24, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|I didn't know we are not allowed to have the company's name as username}}

Well, now you do. Please follow the instructions in the block notice. Primefac (talk) 15:38, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Can you please change my username into the mentioned one, as I really want to get unblocked to modify the page properly and not be accused of content deletion anymore. Thanks.

Decline reason:

There's another problem, though. We don't get to use Wikipedia for marketing purposes, and your now-deleted article Amber Lounge is a textbook example of why. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 17:58, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Obviously I want to review the content as well, but for that I need to be unblocked first. Could you please enable me to do this? Thank you.

Decline reason:

The username you suggest below would be acceptable, but I do not see that having you edit Wikipedia would benefit the encyclopedia. As you said below, you are "not at all aware of how to use this platform", and that seems to include a lack of awareness of the platform's purpose. Huon (talk) 20:02, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{unblock|Hi there! I have been waiting for more than a week for an update on this. Can I please get unblocked to review my pages? Thank you.}}

You were commenting out your unblock requests, which is why no one has commented. The question I have for you, after you're unblocked and your account renamed, is if you're willing to follow the conflict of interest and neutral point of view guidelines. Primefac (talk) 15:43, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Although the blocking administrator chose to give you a block notice which emphasised the username problem, it also mentioned promotional editing. The editing you did before being blocked was an unambiguous attempt to use Wikipedia as a free advertising service, which it isn't. I think it unlikely that any administrator will unblock your account until you indicate what kind of editing you expect to do if unblocked, and make it clear that such future editing will not be attempting to use Wikipedia to publicise, advertise, or promote your business. I am also intrigued by your statement that you wish "not [to] be accused of content deletion anymore", since I can't see anywhere where anyone has ever suggested that. Have I missed some message to you about that? If so, can you tell me where? Or were you perhaps told that in another account you have used? • You need to think again about your proposed new username. 'Alessandra PR' also could be corporate or promotional and I should not be prepared to rename you to that. Just Chilling (talk) 23:39, 9 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you all for your comments and remarks. The problem is that I am not at all aware of how to use this platform and basically this is why I am even commenting on my own posts, since I have no clue where else I can reach any of you. Just to make it clear, I am willing to change the present username (please let me know if Alessandra Diana will suit the policy, if not please just suggest an appropriate one), as well as the content of my pages. To answer to all of you, I will review everything written so that I make sure I follow the neutral style Wikipedia allows only. However, for that I need to be unblocked first.

I think the idea is to try to enrich Wikipedia as much as possible so that information can easily be accessed. If you always find a reason for which I cannot get unblocked, it will be just a waste of time that doesn't lead us anywhere. The fact that I am not aware of how to use the platform doesn't mean I am not willing to learn or at least let someone more knowledgeable than me do it. This page is for the company I am working for and the fact that it has been deleted does affect its reputation, so I would kindly ask you to provide me with the possibility to unblock it eventually, as it only brings trouble and lack of understanding from your side.

Hi there, I am the manager of the person who tried to change this page and it seems there is a problem since the page does not exist anymore. I would like to solve this problem asap so can you tell me what we should do? Can we delete the page and start another one with a new text that will be adapted to your rules? It's very inconvenient so can you please help us? Thanks

Hi, you guys still don't seem to understand the issue. Wikipedia is not for promotion and just because a business exists doesn't mean it meets the general notability guideline and deserves a page. If a business is of significant enough merit, editors who are not involved in the business are likely to create and maintain a page. You've been asked to show what you might contribute to Wikipedia, but you're only talking about working on a page for your business which goes right to the heart of why you're blocked. JamesG5 (talk) 12:33, 12 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Such comments as "This page is for the company I am working for and the fact that it has been deleted does affect its reputation" make it clear that you really have missed the point of the messages you have been given. Wikipedia does not provide businesses with the service of publishing pages on their behalf to benefit them, nor is it any part of Wikipedia's remit to protect or enhance the reputation of businesses (nor of any other organisations or people). All of the articles created by this account were pure marketing copy from start to finish: that sort of thing belongs on your own web site, not in a neutral encyclopaedia. Also, the comment beginning "I am the manager..." makes it clear that this account has been used by more than one person, which is contrary to Wikipedia policy, as an account is for an individual person, not for a business, an organisation, or a group of people. • I have carried out your requested rename. In order to be considered for an unblock you need to follow the instructions in the bottom section of the orange box, above, to create a new appeal. To have any chance of success you need to convincingly explain what articles you intend to edit, that must be other than about your organisation and also have regard to the helpful, detailed information with which you have been provided. Just Chilling (talk) 16:41, 12 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot for your answer and the rename. I completely understand the rules that have to be followed. Nevertheless, I would like to contribute into the Amber Lounge plage. Can this be solved? Am I going to be able to create a new page or edit the previous ones, which before I edited it, was following your rules perfectly. It's a mistake. Would it help if I was sending you the info before editing them? I would like to make sure I am doing what needs to be done for you :-) Thanks a lot in advance.

I am going to unblock you, on the condition that you use the Article Wizard to create a Draft, which can then be reviewed by experienced editors after submission. You will also need to place {{paid|employer=<name>}} on your user page (with additional details as you see fit). I also highly suggest you read through WP:YFA and WP:COI. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 11:59, 14 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
