Barry McSweeney edit

Hello, I'm Paul A. I wanted to let you know that I undid your recent contributions to Barry McSweeney, and explain why.

When it comes to the deaths of public figures, we require a clearly-stated reference from a reliable published source, even if that means an article doesn't get updated until several days after the event; as an encyclopedia, and not a breaking news source, our emphasis is on taking the time to be sure of our information. The reference you provided wasn't sufficient, both because the reliability of the source is not established and because it doesn't include any information establishing that it's talking about the same Barry McSweeney (falsely reporting a death when it was actually somebody else of the same name is, as you can understand, a thing we try to avoid).

I hope this is clear. If you have any questions, you can reply here, or leave me a message on my talk page. — Paul A (talk) 04:57, 28 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
