Blank page edit

I am trying to revert a vandal attack which to redirect this page. I moved only vandal "redirect" tag, to move back. Regards Mustafa Akalp 10:35, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, why do you keep Tekleni Vandalist redirects here. This is not NPOV. Please revert it back.

Edit wars between greek and turks edit

You wrote at ANI as the same people involved in the edit war on the two articles (TRNC and TRWT). I can safely say that i did not involved in the last one. Actually, in the first one, i just put back the removed sentences. You can see from the edit history. In my opinion, you should state the edit warriors more cleary there. For the second one, i confronted the issue accidentally, never edited. i sent the issue to Alex Bakharev, he is quite neutral and assumes good faith all the time, so no problem. E104421 11:17, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply. That's alright! Cheers! E104421 18:09, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Aecis. Everything related with the dispute is progressing in a wonderfull way. The user Fut.Perf. is involved in the issue to compromise. We started to discuss the issue on the talk/discussion page of Fut.Perf.. I hope we'll solve the dispute and put an end to unfortunate edit wars. if you'd like to comment, you're welcome. Best wishes, E104421 18:29, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Redirect or Disambig? edit

I have problem with a new wiki article I have created with the name of Vitéz. Entering this name in the search box as "Vitez" (without the accent on the "e") brings up Vitez (a place in Bosnia). What is the precise syntax (character by character, please) for getting Vitéz onto a Disambig. page? Or is there a diff. solution to the problem? Thanks Bardwell 23:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for quick response. The problem is, or part of it, that I don't know how to open / create / get onto (or whatever) a Disambig page, and assuming I get onto it, what I should do next. I am sure it is very simple - once one knows how to, but right now, I am lost. Bardwell 23:56, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. What I was looking for was the expression: {{otheruses|Vitez (disambiguation)}} (which you have now kindly done for me). Many thanks for your help! Bardwell 11:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
The problem is getting a reference to Vitéz onto the Search page after entering "Vitez" in the search box and pressing "Search".
None of the links now appearing on the Search page provide a link to the "Vitéz" page.
Anyone entering the search term (unaccented, as it would be in English) into the search box and pressing the "Search" button, is left with the wrong impression that as none of the references on the Search page refer to the term "Vitéz" there is no such page on wikipedia. This is what I am trying to fix. Bardwell 13:56, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Are you clicking the "Search" button or the "Go" button? If, after entering the search term you click on the search button you should be taken to the saerch page. That's my experience. Is your's different? Bardwell 15:38, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, Thanks. Got your new message. I'll keep experimenting. Thanks for all your help. Regards, Bardwell 15:42, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Party of the future etc. edit

On the party of the future/party party thing I tried to contact User:Gardar Rurak on this subject he originally started the party of the future article with the "party party" reference in it. He hasn't responded yet; I don't care any way as long as the naming is consistent.

On the Dutch politics list you made two things: First, on the talk:Politics of the Netherlands I and user:Dengo discussed a coordinated effort to revise all articles close to the Politics of the Netherlands-page. Our intent was to create a politics of the Netherlands article which is a summary of underlying articles (like the Netherlands-article). Maybe we can combine both efforts and compile a to do list for all articles concerning politics of the netherlands, both new articles and articles that need to be revised? And then we can work on them collaboratively. As for MPs etc. I'd prefer to do those after the elections, because writing an article on a person who will disappear isn't that interesting. The same reason why I haven't written or revised the articles on the LPF, EenNL, Partij voor Nederland, because their situation is too uncertain.

Second, I myself started a program to write a "decent" article on every party that held a seat in the Dutch parliament and create a common structure for articles on Dutch parties. Out of the +- 60 I only need to do 6 minor parties (Free Anti Revolutionary Party, Christian Historical Party, Frisian League, League of Christian Socialists, Christian Democratic Party, Christian Social Party) and revise several. As you already gathered I'd prefer to write those articles myself, but the most important thing is that I'd prefer to keep them all in a common structure.

If your interested in combining our effort on Dutch politics, drop me a line - C mon 19:49, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edvard Munch copyvio edit

Hi. I'd like to draw your attention to a possible copyvio in the article Edvard Munch which seems to date back to our edits in 2004 !??! See Talk:Edvard Munch for details ... of course maybe it's a GFDL vio. I guess you are the person best-placed to track down what has happened. In the meantime I've removed what traces are left of the possible copyvio from the article, and left exact details on the talk page. Cheers. Stumps 10:51, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cypriot POV push edit

Hello Aceis. FYI a similar POV push to the one on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is occuring on the Cyprus artilce. Its pretty mild right now with attempts (IMHO) to put weasel words into the intro and italicise the TRNC to present it in a POV light. Its the same bunch of users as before. Ive attempted to engage one in dialogue so this can be headed off at the pass but in my experience this rarely works with this small cabal of nationalists. Adam777 17:13, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Where to list open proxies edit

Please list possible open proxies at WP:OP, not at WP:AN/I. This way, the open proxies will be tested by someone who knows how to check them, and then proven proxies will get listed at the main project over at Meta, where the bans will spread to all Wikimedia projects. Listing open proxies at WP:AN/I will leave the other WMF projects exposed. Jesse Viviano 03:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Vandal edit

Regarding the football vandal, I used to try to keep track of these during his early days: Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Burak18. There are many more than that, but I just got sick of tagging them all. However that IP that you asked me about is not the same guy, see here: [1] it's RAMistheMAN (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) Cheers--Konst.ableTalk 21:16, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, yes, that's true. I don't know why he mentioned RAMistheMAN then. Must have been doing some flip through my contribs (I had blocked RAMistheMAN earlier on).--Konst.ableTalk 10:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we should indef the IPs, they don't seem to re-offend. So it is likely just some dynamic IP that he keeps changing.--Konst.ableTalk 10:51, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Could be, nice spot. I'm not too familiar with Bonaparte, but 3 minute delay between edits is highly indicative.--Konst.ableTalk 11:22, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yeah sure, go ahead. You might want to throw in 82.168.59.236 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log), Johnny200 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), Burak18's favourite socks before they got blocked. Probably too much to throw in all of them together.--Konst.ableTalk 12:42, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
