Previously untitled discussion edit

Hi, I have seen your good additions on the runestones. You left a question on Ingjald, and I copy your question and my answer so you can read it here too.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was King Ethelred II of England, who was called "the Unready" ("unræd"). Could Ingjald's title mean "without council," too? --Jävligsvengelska 2 July 2005 22:00 (UTC)
"Unready" is not a good translation of unræd, and not even "without council". The meaning of the English word has changed too much. In fact, unræd corresponds perfectly to Swedish orådig, i.e. "indecisive". Concerning Illráði, ill means rather "bad" or "wicked".--Wiglaf 2 July 2005 22:09 (UTC)

Runestone names edit

I moved U 1011 according to your request. You might consider some standard that will work for all Swedish runestones which don't have an established name. I think you should discuss it with Wiglaf. BTW, you can list yourself as a participant at Wikipedia:Swedish Wikipedians' notice board and keep it on your watchlist. --Uppland 5 July 2005 09:25 (UTC)

Rune stone templates edit

Hi! I saw you authored one Upplandian runestone.. I just added a template, taken from the swedish Wikipedia, and added two more articles:

Template:Runefacts

Upplandian Rune Inscription 22

Upplandian Rune Inscription 871

I travel to Sweden and take pictures of rune stones as often as I can, so now Im trying to update both the Swedish Wikipedia, and add them to the english.

Anyways, i figured we should use the same style of template at least. I modified it to adjust to a more generic version, also including an English translation box of the runes. Let me know if you think it will work, or if you have something else in mind.

Great work on runestones edit

Dear Adamrush, I would like to thank you for your work on runestones. I look forward to seeing more articles by you.--Wiglaf 11:02, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for stroking my ego, but I have contributed nothing but translations and headaches. Anyway, here's your prize for those nice words: Östergötland Rune Inscription 165 --Adamrush 19:50, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Uppland Rune Inscription Fv1975 107 edit

You are correct - my bad. An image name and the fact history books state it was excavated in 1975 led me to believe the name would coincide when they found it. Not the case, according to several sources. The page has been moved, and links updated. Thanks for pointing it out! Mceder 03:47, 8 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

The guy who manages Rundata doesn't answer my e-mail about it, but when he does I'll be sure to let you know. --Adamrush 12:03, 8 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Mazda Rotary edit

Are you 100% sure the Mazda RX-8 doesn't use a rotary engine? Mackerm 23:28, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the thing which made the Mazda RX-7 and the RX-8 unique was their Wankel engines. Calling them rotary engines is totally inaccurate. --Adamrush 06:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

AIV vs VIP edit

Hi Adamrush/archive1. I noticed you added an entry to Vandalism in Progress. That page is only for very specific cases, as described by the page's guidelines. Your alert would be better placed on Administrator intervention against vandalism (WP:AIV), where it will usually be processed within minutes. Many alerts that are incorrectly placed on Vandalism in Progress are never dealt with, simply because they become old before an administrator gets to them. Thanks for your efforts. :) --lightdarkness (talk) 06:32, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I thought I had already added its template to my user page--I guess not. --Adamrush 23:18, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

V-2 rocket edit

Hi. On your edit (04:18, 4 July 2006) you switched Belgian and British links. Im intrigued as to why? What were the statistics between the number of V2's flown against the two countries? Daleh 10:29, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The V-2 was primarily aimed at Antwerp, for one. The stats can be found lower in the article. --Adamrush 18:46, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Burestenen edit

Nice work on the runestones. However, I think infoboxes, when used (and I think they are overused in general) should contain a few summarized facts from the rest of the article. In this case it contains the most central part of the content of the article – the inscription – and causes it to be placed in the lower right corner of the screen. Wouldn't it be better to just work this into the main text of the article? And without the box, the image could actually be made a bit larger as well. Uppland 22:18, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll take your judgement over mine in this matter. --Adamrush 22:23, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Michael Feinstein edit

I don't think his homosexuality is so notable to his life and art as to be included in the intro of his article. If he were a well known LGBT activist, it would be a different matter, but I feel uncomfortable as it currently stands. Should other articles start with saying the subjects are hetrosexual? Edit Summaries edit

I think I was probably too hasty when reverting your edits on Patel, but the offensive statements in your edit summaries led me to believe that you were vandalizing. I found those summaries to be offensive. Xnuala 04:13, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Swedish military bicycle edit

Hi Adam,

You reverted by edit and removed two interwiki links. May I ask what is incorrect about them? I don't really see that, but the again I'm no expert ;) Kind regards, Erik1980 18:08, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
