Regarding page deletion

Hello sir/madam,

I'm contacting you regarding the deletion of this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bharatplaza

It is mentioned there that the reason of page deletion by you is "Article about a website, blog, web forum, webcomic, podcast, browser game, or similar web content, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject"

So, if it is possible, please unblock the page and so we can edit the content to reflect your requirement. Thanks...

As has been noted on three previous occasions since 2009, there is no credible indication that the company meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines for companies. Wikipedia is not a business guide. You may wish to pursue drafting an article under the guidelines offered at articles for creation, which will allow you to incubate a prospective article for editors to review. Block needed, and I'm involved

Would you mind giving WilliamJE an extended block for harassment and stalking? I already made one such request of another admin, but in response I was told essentially "no big deal". Basically, Orlady blocked him nearly two years ago for sustained incivility toward me, and in response, he promised then to be "watching the both of you for the next time you try what you did to me to someone else. So watch out. I'll be leading the charge for you at ANI and Arbcom till you resign or someone at wikipedia shows some guts around here to take away your absolute power to do harm to someone for absolute bullshit!" This has kept up incessantly since then, together with immediate assumptions of bad faith and attacks whenever I do or say something about it, and even making complaints about unrelated actions, e.g. here objecting to my participation in the "Admin help needed blocking a sock farm" section at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive893: That these blocks were done on flimsy evidence and at the same time permanently staining each user's account history was as I said appalling. Stronger adjectives, disgraceful being just one, are actually more fitting for what you and any other administrator did in those wrong blocks.

The last straw has involved his edits at Bellefontaine, Ohio — as you can see from the history, his first edit to the page came just a few hours after mine (the "one such request" diff demonstrates that this is his pattern, following me to the most random topics on which I edit), and when I reverted on substantive grounds (he added an inapplicable category) and told him that I wouldn't explain beyond the obvious fact that it was inapplicable, I was given a large hostile message with continued assumptions of bad faith, i.e. accusations that I reverted him because I don't like him criticizing me (funny, I didn't revert when he put in some more-applicable categories), and repeating his accusations of incompetence. So, once again...someone pledges to stalk me to get rid of me, he follows me to lots of articles he's never edited before to demonstrate that he's following me, and he tries to make trouble for me in incidents completely unrelated to his own actions. Would you mind putting an end to this? Nyttend backup (talk) 20:02, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm in the middle of an ongoing veterinary emergency, family events and impending work-related travel, so I'm not the ideal candidate to take action that will require follow-up, appeals and recriminations at the moment. I've taken a quick look and have trouble constructing a block rationale based on present behavior, though I do see evidence of prolonged grudge-bearing and a WP:POLEMIC problem that supports the perception of a grudge. It's a bit short of what we'd block for at AE for example, and I'm meditating a formal interaction ban of some kind and action concerning the userpage content. I-bans have met with mixed results, but properly framed they set clear boundaries and conditions. Acroterion (talk) 01:49, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Nyttend's use of his alternate account (He used his main account just one minute after making this post) Administrator shopping says a great deal about him and to get around WP:Scrutiny. He is looking for an administrator to salve his supposedly hurt feelings. His behavior on the other hand, like ignoring the long standing message at the top of my message board and using his backup account in the manor he did above, can be said to be evidence of his carrying a WP:GRUDGE as he tries to get an editor blocked once again for calling him out on some of the garbage he's done around Wikipedia. I've told him multiple times to take me to ANI but he hasn't even once. Instead he uses his backup account to find an administrator to block me. You want a detailed post of Nyttend's behavior, I can give it but feel it would be one total waste of time. I don't expect an administrator to do anything against a fellow admin around here.
And please read up on what WP:NOTHERE says about not working in a collaborative fashion. I posted in a non-confrontational manor to Nyttend's talk page about Bellefontaine Ohio about inconsistencies in the article to get a reply of 'I will explain my reasoning when you pledge to stop following me wherever I edit.' His personal feelings are getting in the way of fixing/improving an article. If that doesn't violate NOTHERE, then that page needs some re-writing....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 09:50, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
If Nyttend had really wanted to avoid scrutiny he could have just emailed me. From what I see you're carrying a sustained grudge against Nyttend and Orlady, supported by inappropriate use of your userpage. Personal feelings getting in the way of editing are nothing new on Wikipedia and don't rise to the level of sanctionable activity against Nyttend in this case as far as I can tell - prove me wrong - but the evidence of animus on your part is strong. Your interpretation of NOTHERE is identical to editors who attempt to have their own way by accusing others in a content dispute of vandalism. Both are explicit assumptions of bad faith, in your case continuing for years. Please remove such content from your userpage. It is in fact inimical to building an encyclopedia, and you have no business making claims of NOTHERE about other editors while you maintain it on your userpage. Your highly selective and inappropriate misuse of the term is absurd and troubling. Acroterion (talk) 12:33, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Another administrator getting their facts wrong. You wrote- It is in fact inimical to building an encyclopedia, and you have no business making claims of NOTHERE about other editors while you maintain it on your userpage Nothere is not mentioned once on my user page or ever has been. So how can I remove it?
You're also wrong on my talk page when you write 'I've also read Orlady's comment that you quoted, and I don't think it means precisely what you think it does'. It does mean exactly what she wrote. Read a reply of Nyttend here[1]. Read her blocking message too[2]. I can find other edits in all probability too backing it up.
Nyttend once threatened to get me blocked for harassment saying I had been blocked in the past for it. Serious accusations need serious proof or they violate WP:NPA. In fact his present accusations are without proof too. It's an opinion and opinion is NOT FACT. Those sock puppet blocks were wrong and they too were based on Nyttend's opinion. NOT fact. We both know what the outcome was there and I can point out at least a half a dozen more instances where his competence comes into question.
Have the January 2014 block for personal attacks which has had multiple editors asking where those attacks were made stricken from my log and Nyttend won't ever hear from me again.
Administrators jumping on me for criticizing an administrator and not getting their facts straight. Been here, done it before....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 14:00, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
One more time, since you're avoiding the issue: you're maintaining an enemies list on your userpage. Please remove it, it violates WP:POLEMIC. You're claiming Nyttend is WP:NOTHERE to improve the encyclopedia, which is laughable. You really ought to know better, you've been around long enough, but you seem to be serious. As I noted at the top, I don't have time in the next couple of days to address these issues as they should be addressed, but I am concerned that you're cherishing a grudge, and it's detrimental to the project. Since Neutralhomer's posted here (apologies in advance NH), if you want to see a serious block log, take a look at his [3]. Now that's a block log! Acroterion (talk) 02:18, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
The issue is Nyttend. You fail to acknowledge he is out for me and is willing to do so under false pretenses. His own words- ""Your stalking of me, moreover, is not appreciated and will result in a request for sanctions, especially as you have been blocked in the past for harassing me." He makes a threat to get me blocked under false pretenses. (Do you know he accused me[4] of stalking him a month ago when I reverted a wrong edit[5] he made to Sylvania, Ohio and did so without any comment[6]?) That threat in bad faith should earn him some form of sanction. Where is it? Tell me why you don't block him for that behavior under NPA which says accusations need proof. Did you look at my edit history? Nyttend claims I follow him around. I edit town articles and have been doing so for a long time and that is acknowledged by adminitrator Sphilbick, so does he. Nyttend does census edits mostly and other tweaks, I work on notable people and establishment categories and do general cleanup but not census stuff. Why did you go to my USer page instead of correctly informing yourself on the situation by going where you should have gone- My talk page archives? You made two blaring errors, one of them right off the bat namely "I've also read Orlady's comment that you quoted, and I don't think it means precisely what you think it does" , so you are obviously poor in judgment in this matter or biased because Nyttend is an administrator or both. Nyttend is of far greater harm to Wikipedia, his wanting blocks against editors who criticize him and his willingness to do so in bad faith, than anything I can write on my USER page. He's been told constantly to take me to ANI, so why doesn't he. Because his behavior will be scrutunized not just mine. I can post a long list of his bad behavior and Nyttend has been before ARBCOM at some time in the past. Anyone who criticizes him in the slightest gets a NPA template on their talk page. So he looks to his fellow administrators to protect him, which they will. Look at Dangerous Panda, long known for his f bombs and other abusive behavior towards other editors, and how long he was around with noone doing anything. If Mark Arsten can't be sanctioned for calling[7] an editor a "petulant, narcissistic piece of shit", then I don't see lesser forms of bad behavior can be punishable unless there is a double standard around here. Proof of a double standard, the editor who got called that got blocked for calling someone an arsehole. Why wasn't Mark, who didn't deny saying those words get blocked too? There shouldn't be any double standard, if anything admins should be held to a higher standard. A few admins, Sphilbrick for one, has said so.
Nothing on my USer page can't be backed up. Orlady blocked me for personal attacks (or was it for complaining about Nyttend. Orlady wrote 'and would quit posting his complaints') on her friend but other than Nyttend, there isn't one single administrator or editor who said anything I said was a personal attack. That goes for Bbb23, Yunshui, Sphilbrick and they are all admins. In Sphilbrick's own words I was the victim and it was wrong no one was being held accountable. That photo was given to me in the middle of the unblocking discussion and I said I'd post it to my talk page. No objection from the at least 4 administrators (Nyttend and Orlady included) present at the time.
Administrator abuse is very much a issue at Wikipedia. Trouble is, most of the admin corp doesn't want to address it, and most editors are afraid to address it because admins like yourself will make those editors into targets.
As for grudge, I don't hide my opinion of Nyttend at all or what I think about disgraceful administrators around here. Do you think Nyttend isn't carrying a grudge about me? His threat in bad faith is pretty strong proof it. I do heavy constructive edit here at Wikipedia whatever my feelings are. I spend most of my time in article space (also category space, TFDs, CFDs, AFDs), and very little at drama boards and my talk page edits are usually about some article me or another editor have worked or are working on. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I have made one ANI edit in 2015, If its more than one, its not by much.
The Rambling Man and I had a strong feud a couple of years back. Since that, we've worked together a few times on aviation articles. I didn't like TRM's behavior but its in the past for me, and probably him too. We share a gutwrenching personal experience, can't say more. TParis I gave a diplomacy barnstar to after he and an editor named Joefromrandb (who I once drove to get unblocked at ANI and during so received a small but helpful hand from TParis) buried the hatchet. Joe got a barnstar from me too On his retirement, TParis mentioned Joe in a thank you letter. Unfortunately even if I never addressed Nyttend again after this post, I doubt I'd receive the same. What ticks me off at admins is the bad behavior of some and most of the rest who won't do anything about the bad ones but make excuses. I also don't like glaringly wrong statements made about me and anything I've written. At least Bbb23 after doing so admitted his mistake.
The obvious thing for me to do is take Nyttend to Arbcom. I should have done it a year and a half ago. There was actually someone who expected it to end up there. That's if you don't try to muzzle me first. Protect your own, that's the first rule of most wikipedia administrators even if it does harm to Wikipedia....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 00:51, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
What I get out of the above is that you have a lot of "strong feuds" and that you have a long memory. I'm very much uninterested in what happened almost two years ago, I want to know what's happening right now and why you believe you're exempt from WP:POLEMIC. I get that you feel like a victim of admin oppression, but through all of this you appear to dislike Nyttend because of his editing, not because of any actions he has taken as an admin where you are directly concerned, especially in recent times (and as I said, I'm intimately familiar with the mistaken sockfarm). I see a great deal of vituperation on your part and a determination to rehash the blow-by-blow of two years ago and to classify everybody as good or bad. I fail to see how this is doing you or anybody else any good. In any case, I'm traveling and on a iPad, and don't have the time or energy to parse the wall of text above from my hotel rooom. I'll see how much time I have to devote to figuring out what's happening now as opposed to two years ago once I get back. It would be nice to see a little conciliation. My experience is that emotions in volunteer organizations are in inverse proportion to the stakes. Acroterion (talk) 02:37, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
I believe what Acroterion means by "NOTHERE" is the guideline page WP:NOTHERE. - NeutralhomerTalk • 14:11, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I did take a look at the section in question and it is in clear violation of WP:POLEMIC and in my opinion borderline WP:NPA. You can't put a long diatribe about other editors on your userpage or in your userspace. You certainly can't, even if it is as nice as you can put it, call them whatever you want.
I learned this the first month I was here. Since you have been here as long as I have, you should know this as well. If you want to rail against any user on here, get a blog. You can't do it here and you know better.
After looking at your userpage in general, it could be considered in violation of WP:UP#GOALS and WP:NOTBLOG. It's just a mess of a whole bunch of stuff that really isn't about your time, work, or recognized content here on Wikipedia. Looks like a massive blog, some with vague mentions of different users, some with editors mentioned by name. You can't have vague mentions or direct mentions of editors in your userspace, that again puts you in violation of WP:POLEMIC and WP:NOTBLOG.
Just take the whole thing down, leave the past in the past (because what you are doing now isn't gonna work) and move on to something constructive. - NeutralhomerTalk • 14:25, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
@Acroterion: No offense taken, my block log is insane. It is what it is. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 02:24, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello Acroterion, Could I please direct you to edits made on the above article on a Flight 93 victim by a school IP: 24.38.110.180. I have warned them about their vandalism, but they are continuing. Can I leave this with you for action please? Best regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 17:16, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Zzuzz got them while I was away. Thanks for keeping an eye on the subject. Acroterion (talk) 02:29, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Thank you

Discouraging stuff for me, and I know the landscape here pretty well. Thanks for your assistance and cheers, 2601:188:0:ABE6:5DC5:559E:75C4:C241 (talk) 02:16, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

  • By the way, the text I tried to remove had nothing to do with a blog as source. It was an accretion of nonsense that had been added by several accounts over the last day or two. 2601:188:0:ABE6:5DC5:559E:75C4:C241 (talk) 02:19, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
    • Yeah, it was schoolcruft with no particular source at all. I occasionally get cranky and turn down bad AIV reports and poorly considered speedy deletions to remind people that we're writing an encyclopedia. Cheers, Acroterion (talk) 02:25, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
  • No, not schoolcruft, which was my point. It was apparent that this was plain vandalism, which is why I was both quick and insistent to remove it. Thanks again, 2601:188:0:ABE6:5DC5:559E:75C4:C241 (talk) 02:43, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
  • Then I'm guilty too of not looking closely enough. In any case, you were doing the right thing. Thanks for watching out. Acroterion (talk) 02:59, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Request a longer block for User:70.53.240.5

Greetings Acroterion. Say, could I request an upgrade to an indef for the IP, given this amazingly vile edit history? This is one can we don't want to just kick down the road for 31 hours. I have in mind a rev/del request, actually, but it seemed fair to go to you first as the blocking admin. Thanks, Jusdafax 03:11, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

It certainly is vile, but absent a sign that the same user is on the IP for longer than a day or so I generally stick to 31 hours for the first time, they've only been editing (in the loosest sense) for an hour and a half. I agree that some of their edits are candidates for revdel, I'll go through in detail. I'll keep an eye on the topics, they were already on my watchlist and I saw the vandal before it came up on AIV. Acroterion (talk) 03:17, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I'd missed the attacks on Cannolis while I was blocking the IP. Cripes. A week. Acroterion (talk) 03:22, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Yeah, hopefully this one won't be back, and thanks for considering revdel. A couple of the edit summaries shouldn't be allowed to stand, in my view. Jusdafax 03:30, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

You are an admin, right?

Please screenshot this page and give it to me for something I need to compare Wikipedia to the out-of-the-box MediaWiki. Krett12 (talk) 03:27, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

And please respond on my talk page. Krett12 (talk) 03:28, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
I didn't say anything about a message. I just meant, click on the link, don't do anything, then screenshot exactly that. Krett12 (talk) 03:29, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
One more time: I see no reason to do that. Message or interface, I'm not interested in comparative mediawiki block page formats. Acroterion (talk) 11:21, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

Acroterion: I hope I am doing this correctly. Yes, I am a daughter of P.E. Guerrero. Thank you for your kind words and assistance. I admit I was frightened of Wickipedia. But I thought people might want to know more about my father, particularly after the fine documentary by Paradigm Films. And there is suddenly a lot of misinformation on the web.

You did fine, and I appreciate your boldness in editing here, too many people are put off by the interface and the editing environment. I suppose I should be surprised that there's misinformation on the Internet about your father, but there are very few things about the Internet that surprise me anymore. If you can arrange for some more citations to references (which work and a page number) I can help you format them. It helps the article, and it helps researchers who use Wikipedia as a starting point. You can use the article's talkpage as a staging area if you need to. Please feel free to ask questions here, there or on your talkpage, I have it on my watchlist. Congratulations on the documentary! Acroterion (talk) 02:54, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

Dear Acroterion,

I am writing to first off apologize for failing to disclose my ties with the article. I am an employee with the person in question and we wanted to create a wikipedia page for him. I spoke with huon over in the chat, and I was wondering if it is possible to redo the page while disclosing ties and having proof for "notability". Thank you in advance.

P.S. Is there any alternative wiki sites to host the page? Thanks! Yarnel rotellicorp (talk) 18:14, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

I see that a helpful IP has left some good advice on your talkpage. I can't advise on alternate wikis, though I believe there is a coroporate wiki somewhere, it's not a WMF project. Acroterion (talk) 14:03, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Appeal

The article 'Ossett Town Ladies FC' which was marked for speedy deletion is a valid informational article regarding a womens association football club in Wakefield, England. The associated mens club has their own page also. This is similar to Arsenal FC and Arsenal Ladies and Leeds United FC and Leeds Ladies FC. The article was put forward for speedy deletion in the very limited time I had to finish writing it! The article is now fully complete so I would be grateful if you could please undo this. Radical Rappelling

Today I wrote a page for a game called Radical Rappelling and you deleted it. I am protesting this because the page is not written in a promotional tone, it is a factual article. Please explain why you deleted it, and what exactly made it sound promotional? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omegodriver (talkcontribs) 06:17, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

More accurately, it's a non-notable game, and the article is written as a game review. You've been around long enough to know that evidence of notability is needed (not just reviews), and that encyclopedia's don't address the reader in the second person. Your guidelines are hypocritical. It is Petrol global in common English whish is Wiki guidelines. but you force it to American centric Gasoline, whatever that is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.211.201.51 (talk) 13:06, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Please use the article talkpage to establish a consensus among other editors using sources to back up your views. If a consensus exists, it can be moved to a different title, but changing the lead sentence doesn't accomplish anything. I personally don't care which version it is, but that's not the way to do it. Acroterion (talk) 13:10, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Will you?

Act against the administrators I pointed out to you, TParis and The Bushranger, that violate WP:POLEMIC or will you prove what I say about the double standards here at Wikipedia?...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 14:28, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

This is not a quid pro quo or a means of settling scores, nor is this an exercise in bargaining. If you have a complaint against another user, please raise it in the appropriate venues, with diffs. I see nothing obvious on The Bushranger's userpage. Tparis's departure commentary is largely positive, and its complaints against other editors lack the sharp enmity and outright contempt that you've displayed on your userpage: they're accounts of disagreements rather than denigration. It also hasn't been sitting there for years, and you will have noted that Tparis resigned the tools and left the project. In my view WP:POLEMIC is to be applied in extreme cases of personal slagging, which is what you were doing, and I limited it to just that, leaving your other polemics in place. Acroterion (talk) 15:21, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
Your failure to do a proper scrutiny of The Bushranger is unsurprising. You only do any scrutiny if it concerns an editor not an administrator aka going to my USer page instead of taking Nyttend to ask for violating WP:SCRUTINY and committing forum shopping in addition to threatening to get an editor blocked for a reason he full well knows was invalid. Now he is behaving in the same bad manner that people called him to task for just recently. What are you doing? Going after an editor who in the words of Sphilbrick was the victim of inappropriate behavior by an administrator.
TBR has a userbox on his talk page saying he loathes people who deny the holocaust. Per Polemic "Polemical statements unrelated to Wikipedia, or statements attacking or vilifying groups of editors, persons, or other entities. So again, when are you removing this User page? Please point out exactly where in Polemic that's allowed or point out where your opinion if contrary is consensus.
In your appalling double standard edit to my talk page yesterday you even removed what I said about Sphilbrick.

Your incompetent edit removed a compliment to an administrator. One I still stand by....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 16:00, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

You were given ample opportunity to remove vilification of other editors from your userpage on your own terms. I had no intention of selectively editing things to put words in your mouth, you are free to reinstate praise of Sphilbrick as you see fit. I just cleanly removed the diatribe in its entirety.
Now, as for The Bushranger: are you serious? Really? I am at a loss for words. For the record, I too loathe holocust deniers, and I block them when I see them. I just don't put it in a userbox. Between that and your apparent inability to distinguish disagreement from vilification, you're losing credibility fast. Acroterion (talk) 16:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes I am serious. You missed the point. The box comes under polemic. As someone who has actually visited Auschwitz, acknowledged on my USer page too with this userbox
This user has been to Auschwitz concentration camp and will never forget what happened there.

, my views are the same as yours and TBR though that shouldn't excuse them from POLEMIC as written....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 18:00, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Good, I'm glad we agree on that. As I've already stated at least once, I regard WP:POLEMIC as something that applies in extreme circumstances, and have acted accordingly. Mining userpages for opinionated userboxes and demanding sanctions doesn't help your case, it instead highlights the intensely personalized enmity that you've been promoting on your userpage for the past couple of years. That's divisive and harmful to the encyclopedia. Honest, respectful criticism is not. You're missing the "respectful" part by a mile. Acroterion (talk) 18:10, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Acroterion,

I currently work for a Hospitality Brand in Sri Lanka - Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. I understand that previously the posts regarding the same was taken out due to the promotional language used. I would like to re-submit with the below which I believe is objective in nature.

Cites

I come to you again hat in hand to ask for your advice.

Last August, another editor decided he did not like the cites I was adding to the "List of Law Enforcement Agencies in (State)."On Reddit, they organized a brigading effort to insist there was a rule against using newspaper and other such sites as cites. No wishing to add to any ill-feelings, I declined to add cites for a while. Now I have returned to my project of adding cites to all the police department lists.

Of late, have added cites for a number of departments on List of law enforcement agencies in Ohio. I used only mainstream cites. Another editor has again proclaimed that news cites cannot be used, he insists only government sites can be cited. Of course there is no such policy.

I am feeling bullied by this editor and his friends. How ought I to proceed? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 16:23, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I know of no such rule, which seems just plain wrong, and which inherently introduces systemic bias. A reliable source is a reliable source, and not all governments or law enforcement agencies have a web presence, nor are they all reliable. Has Sbmeirow responded to your query? I see nothing on the talkpage apart from an assertion. Acroterion (talk) 04:01, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
I just now added links to old discussion at Talk:List of law enforcement agencies in Ohio. I take offense at Paul using the term "BULLY" since 3 different editors had similar viewpoints, yet he ignored our consensus. I prefer not to address this on multiple TALK pages. • SbmeirowTalk • 04:16, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Can you point to a talkpage where you did address it by reference to policy? As for the "bully" reference, when Paul mentioned this to me a while back it appeared to me that much of the response to his comments by some of those editors was dismissive and abrupt. Acroterion (talk) 04:22, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Ah, I see, the Woonsocket edit. Yes, I agree that articles of that kind aren't appropriate as sources for general information. It needs to be a broadly neutral reference in the context of news reportage. I'll talk to Paul at greater length, I think there are some misapprehensions on both sides. Acroterion (talk) 04:31, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
On Reddit they organized a number of editors to roll back what seem (to me) to be legitimate cites from mainstream newspapers and so on. This is bullying. They claimed I was in violation of some sort of rule. This was not true and is bullying. I did not use any biased sources, although when newspapers write about police department it is not always supportive. I await some sort of decision. Paul, in Saudi (talk) 09:53, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Question on edits: Kennedy Assassination

I'm not sure what I appeared to have done wrong on October 23 with an edit on the page Assassination of John F. Kennedy. I undid an apparent vandalism by Mayatemayate78, and you undid what I did, and then reverted his edit. Was that so you could apply a block to that account? I'm not upset, I just don't understand what's going on. Thanks! Almostfm (talk) 17:29, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

I was going to revert Mayatemayate78, but you got there first and I was distracted by a minor domestic veterinary incident, so I ended up reverting you by accident. Omnitracs

I am attempting to create a new page for Omnitracs, because the only reference to the company is under a Qualcomm page who no longer owns the company. Any other tips as I attempt to recreate the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NickBell1080 (talkcontribs) 20:29, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

You'll need third-party references to substantiate that the company is notable by reference to major nindependent media. The company's materials can be used to reference uncontroversial details, but you'll need the independent refereences to establish notability per [{WP:CORP]]. I suggest that you use your sandbox to develop an article, or the draft userspace. You'll need to provide neutrally-worded language, and you should follow the best practices presented at WP:COI, including a prominent statement of your conflict of interest on your userpage. Article Deletion.

Hello, you deleted an article I wrote about gsick.com.

You seemed to state it doesn't have a "Credible claim of significance".

gsick is a real site, I started working on it since 2011 and it is pretty technologically significant in my opinion. It is one of my biggest accomplishments. But according to you it shouldn't be included in this virtual history book. Well ok I guess only relevant things like Cloob and Bebo make it.

Have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.64.198.201 (talk) 16:10, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

If the site has received significant notice in independent media, it would meet the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia. The version I deleted made no such claim, and was a simple description of what appears to be (and what your comments above confirm) is a personal project. The examples you've mentioned have received significant press. That is what is needed. See WP:NOTE for more on notability and WP:V and WP:RS for more on sourcing requirements. Hello dear Acroterion,

I would like to explain why my probably my article was deleted and my username was blocked. At first I would like to point that I did not mean to make any advertising or promoting. Below I am listing the article and my blocked username:

Article: DealsOfDayManager.com User name: DealsManager

I was trying to write article about my product, same as articles such as Groupon, Shopify, Living Social and thousand others. Probably, It could showed as promotional. My original article had consist History, business model overview, design, marketing, collaboration, affiliates, payments and references.

Let me just point once more, I didn't write it promotional way, but I absolutely understand, that these parts: design, marketing, collaboration, affiliates, payments, may look kind a promotional. When It showed me a notification, that my article looks as promotional, I have tried to delete this parts and leave just (pasting below), but It showed me that my user name is blocked. And I was trying to write you but again it showed me, that I am blocked. Because I register new account.

Please, if it is possible, I would love just leave the first two parts what is history and business model overview. Those information are not promotional at all, please read it bellow. And parts design, marketing, collaboration, affiliates and payments delete.

Proposed article
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Two part of article what I would like to leave:

None of this indicates that the company is notable, and there are no independent references. Wikipedia requires that notability be established by reference to major independent sources: see WP:V and WP:RS. Self-referencing is of no help in confirming notability. See WP:CORP for more on the notability of companies. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business directory. Please also review WP:COI for a discussion of how to appropriately declare and manage a conflict of interest. which you clearly have. I suggest developing a draft in your sandbox, where you can add independent sourcing. Acroterion (talk) 19:59, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

As the revision history shows, non notable things and fan speculation/original research (like "possibly is around 70 years old", "it would be more appropriate to consider her to be a great-granddaughter of Cornelius Coot" "He possibly was a son") are often added to the page; I tried to delete them three times, explaining each time why those sentences didn't seem appropriate, but they were added again with no explanation whatsoever. I do not wish to be involved in an edit war, so I think it would be better to hear the opinion of an uninvolved editor. --Newblackwhite (talk) 19:16, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay. I've semi-protected the article for two weeks. While the IPs are citing sources, it seems to be mostly speculation and personal analysis. They should be using the article talkpage to make their case for the material's inclusion. Acroterion (talk) 16:28, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your that. In addition of what you said about the IPs using sources used for personal analysis, I'll add that the problem with using stories as sources is that there are literally hundreds of thousands of Disney comic stories, and many of them introduce one-shot characters, so I think it's just common sense to consider notable only characters appearing in at least two comics. Anyway, I'll try now to remove all the fan speculation from the page, though it could be a long work as the page has been tagged for verification and in-universe prose for over five years. --Newblackwhite (talk) 17:56, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi, I have to point out that the controversial block of text was added again after I deleted it, this time by User:Erasurian. I don't know if he is the same person as those IPs or not, but the edit summary was empty as usual. I wrote in his talk page (User talk:Erasurian#Grandma Duck), let's see if he answers. --Newblackwhite (talk) 18:50, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
That's a good start, and we can take further measures if they edit logged-out or persist without interaction. Acroterion (talk) 19:02, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it happened again on January 2: this time it was the ip who added the text back, and even included other text that I previously deleted such as non notable one-shot characters and POV comments like "one of the most beloved duck masters of all-time". I manually did a partial revert while keeping a few parts of his edit that were actually an improvement, but I asked him in the edit summary to stop the edit war and discuss the deleted material in the talk page if he thinks it should be added back. I hope it will work this time. --Newblackwhite (talk) 18:37, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
The ip did it again, and without and edit summary. I reverted his edit, but I feel that this won't be the end of the story. --Newblackwhite (talk) 09:44, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I've just realised that the title did provide enough context. Oh well, it was probably vandalism anyway. Adam9007 (talk) 02:50, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

It's a very young user who's been making test edits, and I don't think there was any context at all. Acroterion (talk) 02:54, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
@Acroterion:A Google search for it shows clearly which Academy it was about. Adam9007 (talk) 02:58, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Harassment

Due to previous harassment [12]. I would like to know if users can obtain my ip address or possibly hack me on wikipedia? I know the website administrators have access to my ip address but do regular users? Malaylampur (talk) 23:20, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

No, users and administrators can't see your IP. Only checkusers can, and they have to have a valid reason to look. Acroterion (talk) 00:06, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Adding unsourced categories

Please read WP:Categorization#Articles. "Categorization of articles must be verifiable. It should be clear from verifiable information in the article why it was placed in each of its categories." (Emphasis added)

Your recent addition of categories to Aryan Nations fails WP:Verifiability. The word "racism" (or any variant) does not appear in the article. The only appearance of "antisemitism" is in reference to an individual, not the organization.

Please don't be dismissive again, saying something arrogant like "Read the article, it's sourced" -- when it clearly isn't. Please follow the guideline and don't add unsourced categories. Thank you. 66.87.80.122 (talk) 03:45, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

You're trying to distinguish Swift from AN? Please, stop splitting hairs. It's an extreme anti-Semitic and racist organization. From the reference: "Aryan Nations is one of the country's best-known enclaves of anti-Semitism and white nationalism." By the way, based on your IPs you appear to be evading a block. Acroterion (talk) 03:54, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
I'm splitting hairs by asking for a Wikipedia administrator to follow the guideline?!? No, by all means add categories because Acroterion says it's so. And then you (collective you) wonder why nobody takes Wikipedia seriously as a reference? Seriously?
If you want to block me, go ahead. I'll be back. 66.87.83.132 (talk) 04:07, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
You're trying to divorce a notoriously anti-Semitic and racist organization from its notoriously anti-Semitic and racist founder by misapplying guidelines on categories, and you find it surprising that people disagree with you? How odd. Acroterion (talk) 04:19, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Deletion

This message is in regards to the deletion of my first wikipedia entry entitled Rusty O'Brien. It was deleted due to a lack of significance. However Mr. O'Brien was received an award for being a top lawyer in America, and is a successful lobbyist to the United States Congress on behalf of AILA. Please review the decision to delete this page. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobrien4 (talkcontribs)

While Mr. O'Brien is clearly accomplished and has a successful practice, the entry as written did not indicate that he was of sufficient stature to be included in a global encyclopedia. Please see WP:NOTE and WP:BIO for more on inclusion guidelines. In addition, the article tended to promote his practice, which is not appropriate in an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a business guide. All Wikipedia articles, and particularly biographies, must be sourced to reliable, independent sources (see WP:V and WP:RS) to support the content and to show that the subject has received substantive notice from major publications or scholars, preferably on more than a local scale. Awards are helpful, but should be major national awards of considerable distinction to establish notability. Given your username, you probably have a close connection to the subject, so you should review WP:COI to understand Wikipedia's requirements for editors with a conflict of interest. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm glad to help. Acroterion (talk) 12:54, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Response of harassment by Rklawnton

Per my warning on talk and talk

He plowed through multiple articles I contributed claiming i have a "personal agenda". Of course if that's contributing to articles constructively however he decided to follow every post I made that had credible references. I'm not super familar with how wiki deletes pages however he also spear headed removing an article that was of a very notable person however needed polishing. Had he said, "you need to develop this in another section prior to publishing" I'd of accepted that however he just decided on plowing through discrediting my contributions entirely. That isn't professional nor acceptable so yes, i would get a little angry and rightfully so.

I agree that you're trying to push an agenda. Your edits to Mass (liturgy) and Fred Phelps were obviously inappropriate. Administrators are expected to follow up on problematic editing patterns. Don't use Wikipedia to promote causes. You won;t find sympathy for Fred Phelps here, but that doesn't mean that you get to spam protests. Acroterion (talk) 03:24, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi Acroterion

Hey Acroterion,

I had to search for you all over the place but anyways listen there is a user on here who goes by the name zackmann08. He has a history. People including me have gotten angry at him because it is almost like everyone has to answer to him. He is not an administrator. He is going on to pages and removing content. He is also watching pages and going back and changing stuff after someone fixes it. Some of it was sourced content by other users. He has also put a lot of misinformation on here. Can you look into him a bit. I know that your probably busy but its just that I feel and someone (not me) did call him this, an internet troll.

Thanks tom991

Please provide specific examples. If you're going to allege that someone is a troll, you should have a good reason for doing so. Acroterion (talk) 02:41, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited White Building (Phnom Penh), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Khmer. Orphaned import

Can you check on MediaWiki_talk:Corregimientos_de_Panamá - is this being worked on by someone? — xaosflux Talk 04:09, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Dr. Blofeld asked for it to be imported into Corregimientos of Panama: I didn't want to dump such a large import into article space until it had been translated and formatted. If he doesn't claim it I'll delete it. Acroterion (talk) 04:16, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

I undid you edit without looking at the talk page history page

I undid your (correct) deletion of a WP:Soap attack on my own edit, for the reasons stated both in my edit summary and small note in the talk page section. I may have made a mistake by doing so, without first looking at the talk page history that shows a history of disruptive editing, and possible pointlessness to responding to any of it as I just did. Even if that editor comes back as a good NPOV editor, responding to him/her takes too much time, so I won't be undoing your (correct) deletions of WP:Soap edits again. My mistake, sorry. :) MBUSHIstory (talk) 18:18, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Don't worry about it, it's often difficult for for us to deal with multiple disruptive editors on talkpages cleanly. Acroterion (talk) 19:12, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Deletion?

I was wondering why your page has been deleted and if it would be alright to make a new page similar to this one. The reason why I wanted to make a page/wiki on this topic is to inform other people about this topic. Also if I were to make one regarding H2O Delirious (a popular youtuber) I would make sure not to put anything too violating or personal, for I am a fan of his and I feel it would be disrespectful to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrazyAtItsBest (talkcontribs) 05:05, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

The article was deleted because it gave no credible indication that the subject was notable by reference to major independent media. See WP:NOTE and WP:BIO. Simply having a lot of YouTube views is not a criterion for notability, and there were no references to anything else. Subjects must have received significant coverage in independent media to confer notability. Acroterion (talk) 13:00, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

Could you give some advice re an WP:SP accusation?

When I started editing the Donald Trump articles, you reverted nasty edits on my talk page, writing "Reverted 1 edit by User:MussoliniLoved (talk): Rv PA, trolling", and similar on other pages. That and similar editors were banned. Now, with no explanation whatsoever, from out of the blue, an editor (who looks experienced) accused me of being a sock puppet. But I never had a dispute or problem with any editor, about any of my edits. That editor gave no evidence whatsoever for the accusation, other than writing "Donald Trump disruption mostly". Could you look at my response here, and tell me if it is how I should be responding to what I assume is the "evidence"? Thanks. MBUSHIstory (talk) 04:13, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

"Donald Trump disruption mostly" is a pretty thin reed and I would expect the SPI to be closed if there's nothing more than that. It's certainly not actionable without substantial evidence. Acroterion (talk) 04:23, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. MBUSHIstory (talk) 04:29, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Hello Acroterion and trust you are well? Could I please bring to your attention the activities of Connerdn (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) on the above article. This user is deleting referenced statements and has made five reversals in the last 48 hours - many without comment or reason. Both ScrapIronIV and myself have asked user to stop, but they are now making legal threats against us, plus adding "references" which do not support their changes. I have also left a note for Ponyo on the same theme, but they do not appear to be around. Because of the legal threat urgency, can I leave this with you for some action please? Best regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 10:35, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

I'm on the road own one of my periodic jobsite trips. It looks like they've stopped for now, and it's not an unambiguous legal threat, though I agree that they're trying to chill discussion to keep their Breitbart-sourced material. Service awards

I have just discovered that many nifty service awards are based on the number of edits. How in the world can I determine the number of edits I have made? I tried a couple of automatic counters, but they seem to count from the time they are installed. (Or perhaps they need some time to catch up.) What is your wisdom? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 12:50, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) The easiest way is to click on SPecial:Preferences. Your edit count is 4 lines down in the Basic Information section. -- GB fan 13:05, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Deletion

Hello, I was in the middle of editing this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nature_Hills_Nursery, but the page was added to speedy deletion & deleted as I was adding references. Is there a way I can work on this page without it getting deleted? Also, I believe the page is just as valuable as a few of these other pages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stark_Brothers_Nurseries_and_Orchards#cite_note-5 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_Hill_Nurseries So I am not sure why it is being deleted in the first place. The article was first deleted through a formal deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nature Hills Nursery. During that discussion the consensus was that you could develop it with soutrces showing notability in your sandbox or in draft space. If you want I will transfer the content there for you to work on, so that you can address the concerns raised during the deletion discussion. Acroterion (talk) 20:47, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Yes, could you please move it to the sandbox? That way I can address any concerns for the article. Thank you!
