Yo

Hopefully there is going to be some downtime now from all the vandalism.--IGeMiNix (talk) 16:55, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for not leaving permanently. (I got two disruptive IPs blocked this morning!) Let's get back to editing now! :-D Need any help with anything? Acps110 (talkcontribs) 16:59, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol, I am good for now, I just need some days off since he is frustrating me a bit.--IGeMiNix (talk) 17:03, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Yo, how do I report an IP that keeps on reverting edits and removes warnings off his talk page?--IGeMiNix (talk) 23:11, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again man, it seems he is already blocked for a little bit. Hopefully he will stop but it seems he is very persistent like another IP we know.--IGeMiNix (talk) 03:06, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Sure! The NYCS project has been hit hard by IP vandalism this summer. :-( Acps110 (talkcontribs) 03:08, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
So it seems but some of the people including me are going back to school so hopefully it will be a little less hectic.--IGeMiNix (talk) 03:16, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
You have learned a lot this summer, and it is a pleasure to have you here. Enjoy yourself in school and hopefully we'll continue to see you around. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 03:20, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol thanks, I remember when I was one of them. I would hope the sources will update soon though as the info on the R32, R68A, and R160s are technically not wrong, just that there is nothing to back up their claim. I will be around hopefully daily, but I don't know as we just started for one day and now we have a 4 day weekend which in my opinion is a pretty stupid decision that the Board of Ed made. --IGeMiNix (talk) 03:41, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Formatting for Google Earth

Can we use [[A (NYCS)|]]? It seems another user is using it and it works.--IGeMiNix (talk) 20:57, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes. As long as it's a regular link, it will work with Google Earth. I'm going to dive into some more Manhattan trunk lines tomorrow; you guys spurred me on. ;-) Acps110 (talkcontribs) 21:04, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Alright I am going to the Jerome Line and Lexington.--IGeMiNix (talk) 21:10, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Never mind, IRT is pretty much done.--IGeMiNix (talk) 22:31, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol, you are gonna change them to the longer version?--IGeMiNix (talk) 20:21, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
No, I'm not changing anything that doesn't need something else too. ;-) Acps110 (talkcontribs) 20:48, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol, I don't mind doing the longer one, just that the shorter is a lot quicker. =P--IGeMiNix (talk) 21:40, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Copy and Paste! (grin) Acps110 (talkcontribs) 21:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol yeah, I did that with like the 1, 2, and 3 or w/e. I will just go back and change Lexington sometime later. Either way Aqueduct Racetrack (IND Rockaway Line), anything we can do about having the bullet color and the bullet icon on the top?--IGeMiNix (talk) 21:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure what to do with that one. I fiddled with it a little, and couldn't get it to show up, so I didn't save my changes. It has a "service_custom" field instead of "service" because of its special northbound only service. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 02:11, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Ok, there should be like a standard format of whether the line letter should be bolded or not because although I do like to bold them, it seems that not all of them are bolded. Also what is left to change?--IGeMiNix (talk) 02:13, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
It looks less distracting to me to bold only the first instance of train designators. I did the entire BMT today, so the only thing left that neither of us has touched is the IND. Gfoley4 did some of those, so we can go back through and verify. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 02:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Eh, I might do Culver tomorrow, I did the A up to High St I believe, so the rest of Manhattan still needs touching.--IGeMiNix (talk) 02:24, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, it seems the rest of IND is gonna be put on hold for a bit for me since school is getting hectic, hanging out with friends, and games are coming out again lol. Maybe whenever there is a break I might update them but I doubt I will update any of the IND anytime soon.--IGeMiNix (talk) 00:55, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
No problem. Balance in life is a good thing! Acps110 (talkcontribs) 01:09, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Bronx/The Bronx

Hello, you participated in a discussion last spring that resulted in renaming The Bronx as Bronx. There is now a proposal to open a new Request for Comments on restoring the original name. If you have comments about the timing of such a proposal, please make them soon at Talk:Bronx#Query: when do we consider this? because, unless a there's a consensus against such a Request for Comments, it will begin early this week. Thanks. —— Shakescene (talk) 21:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Lower East Side – Second Avenue (IND Sixth Avenue Line)

Yo, for the V, are we going to keep the old name for the stations? Also, should like add the W at 34th?--IGeMiNix (talk) 01:20, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

The V train served the station when it was known as that (with the neighborhood prefixed). This edit (line 233) is a good one, because it avoids a redirect, but the link text shows what the station was called when the V was active. I'm sorry, I don't understand your second question. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 01:42, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol was talking about like adding the W to the transfers on the V at 34th and vice versa and adding the M at Canal Street for the W since at that time, they can transfer.--IGeMiNix (talk) 02:58, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Guess quiet time is over.--IGeMiNix (talk) 00:37, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

57th Street – Seventh Avenue (BMT Broadway Line) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Accp10, I know I'm unsigned. I read more about the BMT 63rd Street Line. Can you please reply at discussion of 57th St Broadway line page. Thank you. User talk:24.189.168.173 9/21/10 —Preceding undated comment added 23:38, 21 September 2010 (UTC).

You should learn to check the page history and check that Acps110 did not change your edit and The Legendary Ranger did, you should talk to him about it since neither me or Acps110 spend a lot of time on wiki currently.--IGeMiNix (talk) 23:41, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Pending changes/Straw poll on interim usage

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:25, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Non regular service

I think this should be a certain topic that should be discussed for the project as it seems that The Legendary Ranger says that we do not include rush hour service into pages, which I seem odd as the information is on the timetable, and some pages do have info of service that is now being removed and I think it should be fine to include service like that but of course it seems that it isn't something that goes on a page. The F to Kings Highway is pretty much a regular thing in rush hours as they practically alternative with every other train and it has been removed off the Kings Highway Page. I just wondered what is your thought on this topic? Also, if you play PC games, Civ5 is pretty good. XD--IGeMiNix (talk) 00:48, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Non-regular service should be left out. Rush-hour service however is regular if it's on the timetable and therefore source-able. For example, several editors went round and round about including the Brighton line re-construction on the B and Q train pages. It was easy to find a reliable source (www.mta.info) for information about it and relatively long-term. That set a precedent for including the same kind of information on the 5 page due to long-term signal upgrades on the White Plains Road line that affected its service. An example of something that can't be included is the current multi-weekend shut-down of 1 service. It is source-able, but by its very nature, extremely temporary. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 15:13, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Alright thanks again man. Also did you see the drama that happened?--IGeMiNix (talk) 20:24, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Comment on Saturday Night Live (season 36) The confirmed on air contains a source. It's made by the show, it is the strongest source. How more clear can it be?

Water78 (talkcontribs) 24 September 2010 (UTC)

There is nothing wrong with having multiple sources supporting a single statement. Please read WP:Reliable Sources. As I said before, please do not remove sources without adding additional ones. Thanks, Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:35, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes but the source given is factual, and it supports a claim made by the show itself. As I said before I added additional sources after I removed the other ones. Why will it not take and why am I being threatened by being banned for following the rules.?

Saturday Night Live (season 36)

"no we don't know if we don't have a source: Really we need a source to make sure it actually happened. Did you actually watch the show last night, it happened. Why do you keep adding it back? If you feel so strong about it what about the other shows? Like from last season and the year before that? Did they happen? Water78 (talkcontribs) 26 September 2010 (UTC)

You are being very short-sighted. Yes, I watched the show last night. I'm thinking about someone who comes here years from now to read about season 36. The references have to be there in every article on Wikipedia; which an article about a TV season is not exempt from. WP:Citing sources; WP:Reliable sources and WP:Verifiability are all applicable here. This is not about the present, it's about the future. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 18:37, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
