Ok, I got the template partially working now. I removed the extra (4). Now all I have to do is to create and upload a <4> and the template will pick it up. Acps110 (talk) 23:06, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

Use of Nowiki tags

Hello Acps, Just wondering - I saw your addition of <nowiki></nowiki> tags (one right after another) on this edit to the Cortlandt Street (BMT Broadway Line) article. Does this do anything in particular? Perhaps it has a use in infoboxes, but I can't see what the point is. Please help educate a confused Wikipedia editor. Thanks! Me Three (talk to me) 23:57, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Uh, oops. I copied and pasted that from another infobox that contained the PATH formatting I wanted. I don't think I did that to any other infoboxes. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 00:04, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
No worries, I just thought that maybe you knew something that I didn't! Me Three (talk to me) 03:26, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually, it looks like they do have a purpose. It makes the asterisk on the next line look like a bullet. Otherwise, it just looks like an asterisk. I guess it has something to do with putting bullets in infoboxes without leaving a blank line beforehand. Me Three (talk to me) 18:56, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Ah, OK. I haven't had time to mess with it yet. Thanks for letting me know. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 03:13, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Your User Name

You popped up on my watchlist yesterday, and I had just had to say I love your user name! I immediately thought of my friend Perry; and yes, she is hotter! I assume that's not what you meant and it's a spoonerism of Harry Potter. That makes me laugh even more because some people have told me I look like Harry Potter! In any case, thanks for the smile, and have a great day! Acps110 (talkcontribs) 20:06, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually it is a spoonerism of Harry Potter. I am an HP fan and at first I had great dreams of being the biiiig Wikipedia editor for the Harry Potter pages, but everyone and his uncle wants to do that. And I was waaaaay to late to do Star Trek, another one of my favorites. I did however make a significant contribution to the V (2009) pages. But when I checked out Our Gang, I saw a wide open field. I'm actually begging for people to help me, there's so much to do there. Perry Hotter (talk) 02:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Your rollback request

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Thank you very much. I intend to use it sparingly. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:50, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Route Bullets in Prose

Please do not use route bullets in the prose of New York City Subway station articles. Per the Manual of Style, "Icons should not be used in the article body... This breaks up the continuity of the text, distracting the reader". In addition, bullets used in this way are primarily decorative, e.g. "aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder: one reader's harmless decoration may be another reader's distraction". In the lead section of those articles, please use the form [[A (New York City Subway service)|]]. (Note the pipe trick used at the end of that example.) This will allow the text to format properly in Google Earth. Google Earth uses very simple rendering of the lead section and can't display any templates. Usage of {{NYCS|4}} is appropriate elsewhere, and the route bullets can be used in tables, image captions, or infoboxes.
