re: Rauwshan McKenzie Edit edit

Hold on a minute bro. If a player was signed as a free agent, then you put that down as from "Unattached" to wherever. If the player was released, then you don't put the player down as released, that's how it is on every transfer page. I know what I'm doing is correct. – Michael (talk) 04:13, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

MLS Player Profiles edit

Hey man, next time you create a page and that player is a midfielder, can you not plot their position as Midfielder (association football) and just plot it as Midfielder because this is the only sport that has that position. – Michael (talk) 22:44, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

On the contrary, the midfield position can be associated with either association football, futsal, or "Australian rules" (if you check Wikipedia). It is therefore necessary to include association football. Acmilan10italia (talk) 00:11, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok, but still it would redirect to Midfielder so that's why we should just plot it that way. – Michael (talk) 13:22, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notable players edit

From the section:

This list of former players includes those who received international caps while playing for the team, made significant contributions to the team in terms of appearances or goals while playing for the team, or who made significant contributions to the sport either before they played for the team, or after they left. It is clearly not yet complete and all inclusive, and additions and refinements will continue to be made over time.

"Made significant contributions to the team". How do you define a contribution as significant, is there a WP:NPOV way to do so? Definitely not. Same thing applies for "significant contributions to the sport". If you want to make such a list, please use factual, non-controversial and relevant criterions and, also, mention sources (for instance, a minimum number of appearances for the club or stuff like that), otherwise you are just violating WP:V and WP:RS, namely two of the pillars Wikipedia is based on. If you look at all the major articles involving football clubs, you will easily find out there is no such section, unless where clearly restricted by explicit criterions. And the existance of the template doesn't justify having such a section at all (we also have templates to mark an article as non-notable!). Regards, --Angelo (talk) 12:26, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Marco Sansovini edit

I had upgraded the stub for you. As a reminder, do some research (transfer list, searching press release from club website) before writing or building the infobox, not randomly assuming some loan deals as i warned you in July. (However Marco Sansovini was created in July, so this time NOT a second warning). Matthew_hk tc 13:44, 30 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Davide Matteini edit

Just a reminder for your old edit again. I had the official original transfer list published by Lega Calcio, please don't imagine unexist deal in infobox. Just use the old infobox data is enough. Matthew_hk tc 21:31, 7 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Nicola Modesti edit

The article Nicola Modesti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Minor league former footballer who fails WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV, cannot find anything but marginal trivial sources. [2]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
