{{helpme}} Hi - I tagged this page as speedy as {{db-spam}} KKKZ_Productions, and author removed the tag (with discussion on the Talk Page). It doesn't change the fact that it's spam. Do I now have to send it to AfD because it's contested, or can I retag it as speedy, or will an admin find the original speedy tag even though the editor removed it? Thanks

If its contested, its better to AfD it, I'll nominate it for you Brian | (Talk) 00:36, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notices to other users edit

Hey, I noticed you making comments to other users regarding their edits (specifically using the blp1 tag), and I wanted to remind you to post these notices on the user's talk page instead of their user page, and also to sign your comments whenever posting to a talk page. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 00:38, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

My mistake. I've got to keep the user pages and talk pages straight. It's not clear at all why I should even be able to edit another person's User Page. Aagtbdfoua 00:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Call for citation edit

The call for a citation in Mukurob (yes, I am the original author) sparked a train of thought which I think is interesting and might be very important.

Throughout the world, but especially in Africa, knowledge, news, fiction and so on are all passed on orally. Only rarely are these nuggets of information (and disinformation) formally recorded, and then often with great differences of interpretation and content.

In the article, I assert that Nama oral tradition predicted that 'white' rule would end when the rock structure collapsed. My statement is based on several conversations in the Seventies and Eighties, around campfires and while travelling through the desert. There are no citations; the Nama stories are largely unrecorded.

The fact that I cannot provide a citation does not particularly bother me; I think that factoid is interesting but not significant. Probably a coincidence. There have been several other similar predictions the most famous of which is the prediction of Nonquase, a Xhosa girl, that two suns would rise and the white people would be driven into the sea by the ancestors who have risen from the grave. Well, that didn't happen.

What does concern me (and prompted my relating the prediction) is that these snippets information are just going to be lost through inattention, and worse, through self-censorship.

Perhaps there should be another wiki for this sort of thing. Before it is too late.

always subst warning templates edit

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

With templates like {{drmspeedy}}, you should be able to use the code provided by the speedy deletion template you used. Will (Talk - contribs) 03:33, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

ToyWatch edit

The ToyWatch article I created was not intended to be advertizing. And the "luxury style watches at low prices" was simply to try and be a bit more specific as to what sort of watches ToyWatch make so I have removed your tag.AndTheCrowdGoesWild 23:16, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Christian Nationalist Crusade edit

Thanks for visting the article I've just written.

There's some more now!
Can you re-visit?
Thanks.

Complex numbers exponential edit

Good catch on that being a repost, and also that there's no context. I was looking for a speedy criteria but didn't see that one. I've left the reposter a comment on his talk page, asking him to either address the flaws (like no intro) or go to deletion review before reposting. —C.Fred (talk) 06:16, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blak Jak edit

Unfortunately, a DRV allowed for recreation. I have listed it at AfD, because the newest version once again does not make any claims of notability. This might get this resolved once and for all. User:Zoe|(talk) 19:32, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

FYI - Talk in Article Space edit

FYI - you created a page Talk talk:Battle of Abu Ghraib (see quote below) that looks like it belongs on the talk page of an article, but it ended up in the main namespace. I tagged it for deletion, you'll probably want to report it on the proper talk page. - Aagtbdfoua 18:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Appose - I believe this topic warrants it's own article, like all battles. --JAYMEDINC 16:43, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

This page should not have been deleted. When someone puts the merge infobox on a page, it puts a wikilink titled Discuss. When you click on that, and type your discussion, it creates the page that has been deleted because of you. This page is where the merger discussion is supposed to take place. I am about to click on discuss and put my post back on it. --JAYMEDINC 18:54, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, it has been explained to me the proper way to do a merger. I had the infobox on the talk page instead of the article page and it caused my problem. --JAYMEDINC 19:21, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template:Firstarticle edit

Hello. We have a template {{firstarticle}} which can be used in place of things like {{nn-warn}} when warning new editors about speedy deletion tagging. It avoids using technical jargon, and is rather less WP:BITE. All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 01:51, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • So noted. I'd leave a lot more messages if I made a cheatsheet. Maybe I'll do that soon. - Aagtbdfoua 02:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey there edit

I was wondering why you redirected MSMS_Vision to MSMS. Thanks, and keep up the good work! ElentariAchaea 05:36, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

RFD Closure edit

I have closed List of economics consultancies and think tanks & List of economics consultancies as delete since there was no objection. In your nomination, you said you would clean up the associated links to the first page. I'm hoping you will follow through with that as that was one of the reasons I was willing to close it as delete. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 23:22, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I shall. Thanks for the reminder. I just started and will have to finish next week. - Aagtbdfoua 05:16, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • This is completed for all articles in the mainspace. The rest are Talk, User talk or bot-updated project pages, which I assume should stay. - Aagtbdfoua 02:56, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD edit

Sorry for removing the tag on Vita Craft Corporation. I am new to wikipedia and I thought the tag was like that of a 'unreferenced' tag, where I can just remove it when the problem has been fixed. Will not happen again. Jeterato 16:50, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bots? edit

What are you saying about me using bots, I have not been using any at all. Just the lupins popup tool script. If I wanted to create a bot I would have to use a different account for it, and what you mean by contribution histories being broken; does not make sense to me. Ultimate X-Men (story arcs): Peer Review edit

Greetings! In December of 2006, you participated in the discussion for the 2nd deletion nomination of Ultimate X-Men (story arcs). After two months of rewriting, reorganizing, and referencing, the article is now undergoing a WikiProject Comics peer review. Your editorial opinion would be most welcome to help us improve the article to A-class status. Thanks for your time! - fmmarianicolon | Talk 06:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stata / PanelWhiz edit

[I hope this is the right place to be discussing this. if not, please inform me of the proper procedure.] Hi, you removed an external link on the Stata page to PanelWhiz. The reason is not that clear. Also, a link to panel data sets was removed. Perhaps you have never used the statistical program stata? Usually, people who use stata, also use data sets. finding these data sets is particularly difficult. the link you removed, lists the world's most used panel data sets. once one has found a data set, it is typically very difficult to extract data from these data sets. the link to PanelWhiz is an attempt to link directly to software designed to do exactly this. Could you please indicate whether you have ever used Stata before and in what capacity? Are you a social scientist (economist, sociologist, etc)? Sincerely, DeNew 10:42, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion debate: Mike Mercer edit

I noticed your vote and rationale in the Mike Mercer deletion debate. Just thought when you get a chance, you might want to check out the notability guidelines at WP:BIO. There is, in fact, no blanket precedent indicating that amateur athletes are not notable. It depends upon the level at which they play.

Ceqli edit

Can you take a look at Talk:Ceqli. You might want to try and AfD for the article but it can't be prodded. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 05:18, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template:Firstarticle edit

Hi - just wanted to let you know that I reverted a change you made to this template. It looks like you inadvertently added your signature there, which is obviously confusing when another editor uses the template and ends up with a double-signature. JavaTenor 23:23, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for fixing it. Yes, it was unintended. - Aagtbdfoua 23:31, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vanderbilt Hall edit

thanks for spotting it. Certainly such residence halls are non-notable. But it was also a copyvio, so I marked it for speedy deletion. Such pages often are--if they start talking about such things as the laundry facilities, it's a dead give-away. May you catch many more. 01:11, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
