Thanks for uploading Image:Sharleen_Spiteri_15.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

Sir Barnes Wallis

With regards to your question about the spelling of the name Wallis, the two most common spellings are Wallis as in Barnes Wallis or Wallis Simpson for instance, or Wallace as in William Wallace, Wallace and Gromit or Edgar Wallace for example. Regards (A. Carty (talk) 22:27, 29 July 2009 (UTC))

Hi,

do you mind if I were to ask you a few personal questions? Feel free to not answer them, but I ask them because I wish to know something about 'memory' in Russia or with Russians in general. I ask these questions to several native Russian speakers, so forgive me if you encounter these questions on different talkpages. So here are the questions:

• When were you born?
• Were you 16 or older in the 1980s?
• Were you born in Russia/Soviet Union? Where?
• How do you remember the Soviet-Afghan war/Afghan war?
• How do you remember the Soviet repression, such as the Gulag or the prison camp system?
• How do you remember the public discussion in the 1980s/1990s about the repression and the prison camp system?
• How do you feel about the victims of the Afghan war and the victims of the repression?

Answer in anyway you like (which includes not answering as well of course), thank you very much.

• No.
• Yes. Poltava, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.
• No, war ended before I was 5 years old.
• No, GULag was dismantled in 1959, before my parents were even born.
• I was a child then, but I don't really remember any discussions outside of TV broadcasts.
• I do believe this war pursued some important goals (e. g. keeping Muslim influence in Asian parts of SU under control), but government failed to communicate these goals to public.
