Yes, Wallinheimo the MP is a former hockey player. Christian Beijar is not elected, but he is a deputy MP to Nauclér of Åland, ie. if Nauclér resigns, he will take her place as he got the second most votes on the Åland party list. hMMM, HIS ENGLISH ARTICLE DOESNT MENTION ANYTHIGN ABOUT POLITICS. (okay just realised and im not deleting the caps now ;)) we need to update his article witht he MP status as thats more current than hockey so it shoudl be on tp.

what does beijar's status mean? should we add it to the page? and should we highlight new mps, with an asterisks perhaps?

Beijar's status is "varalla" which could be translated "in reserve". He is a deputy MP, which means that he isn't important unless Nauclér resigns for some reason. I don't see any reason to add the deputy MPs to the article, seeing that there are dozens of them and they only become important once a sitting MP resigns. Ahvenanmaa is the Finnish name, Åland is the Swedish name. In English Wikipedia it has been the policy to use the name Åland. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 14:16, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

per this edit it says 36th, but the parliament page list says this would be the 72. whats the disparity? perhaps the former is by the # of elections but the parliament page includes government that fell and were reconstituted with a new coalition before an election?Lihaas (talk) 14:33, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the next government will be the 72nd in Finnish history. However this was the 36th election. Before the 1980s it wasn't unusual for governments to fall between elections. Then a new government was usually formed instead of new elections. So the fact that the next government led by Katainen will be the 72nd government does not change the fact that the eduskunta elected is the 36th in order. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 23:44, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

It can be mentioned in the article, but I still think that the article's name should be "List of MPs of the 36th Finnish Parliament", as the MPs' position is not directly dependent on the government: it would be the 36th parliament even if Katainen's government falls and a new one is formed (if a new election is not called). --89.27.103.116 (talk) 18:27, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

UPDATE: the article is pending a GA review (but it takies forever). Ive also asked for a peer review as a basis for an eventual FA nomination. Its pending here [1] you may be interested in following it, or asking an uninvolved editer for his views. Suomen Sisu is a nationalist organisation, but not neo-nazi. The organisation is not affiliated with any party, but four of their members were elected to the the Parliament as True Finns MPs (Jussi Halla-aho, Juho Eerola, Olli Immonen, James Hirvisaari) - Suomen Sisu congratulated the four members on the organisation's website.[5] --89.27.103.116 (talk) 19:37, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

couple of things:

"In Aland, Elisabeth Nauclér was elected to represent the island for the Borgerlig allians. She sits in coailition with the Swedish People's Party." source on that, though i beleive we have it somewhere, i think i added it myuself.

"Disqualification of votes" section which we could remove if there i s not reputable source.

"Pasi Saukkonen, a political scientist at Helsinki University," need clarification (though i dont understand what now)

The source[7] only has a short quote from Urpilainen regarding nuclear power, in Finnish: "Pitää vahvistaa energiaomavaraisuutta. Tuoreiden ydinvoimapäätösten jälkeen otettava tuumaustauko." Translated: "We must strengthen our energy self-reliance. After the recent nuclear power decisions we must keep a pause for reflection/consideration". So it doesn't give a reason. We got the article to GA congrats.

Now we should try for FA. just 2 deadlinks i see as a prob.
