Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (85.148.159.99) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Happy editing! 🐦DrWho42 (🔨) 05:17, 27 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Why am I all of a sudden blocked? I've been making only minor edits, no vandalism what so ever, it says "CU block: recent IPs were socks, logged-out" ..and I have absolutely no idea what that means. So I am being blocked while making ordinary edits, and the reason is incomprehensible to me. It's completely ridiculous. 85.148.159.99 (talk) 21:18, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

It is very likely you have not been personally blocked. Unfortunately, we are unable to unblock you because you have been caught in a rangeblock. These are applied to stop persistent vandals from using multiple IP addresses to evade their block. For our security, we cannot release this block early unless there is clear evidence of severe collateral damage. You can, however, log in to edit. If you don't have an account, you can request an account, making sure to add a link to this page for our reference in the comments section. Sorry for the inconvenience, but please let us know if you have any questions.

A minority of rangeblocks are "hard blocked" and prohibit editing even if logged in, due to exceptional vandalism or other similar issues. If despite creating an account, you still find that you cannot edit even when logged in, then please contact us again with the relevant error message. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I have requested an account weeks ago, and I have not yet received a reply. Aside from that I find the user account request process rather complicated. I just want an account so I can make edits again. I feel I am being punished for something I didn't do. 85.148.159.99 (talk) 14:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Decline reason:

WP:ACC is the only path forward here. Yamla (talk) 14:45, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I HAVE tried that page, and it says that I'm obliged to disclose any previous accounts I have. I previously have had an account that I used somewhere between 12 and 8 years ago, and I cannot even recall if I used my current email adres as the email for it. I have been trying to recover both my username and password, but then I again get BLOCKED by your system and I cannot even tell if I have an account left on my current email adres. I CANNOT recover either my password and username, and yet I am supposed to tell you about them.

You people are having me run around in circles here for something I didn't even do and your system does NOT allow me to create a new account this way. I request a unblock review from someone who actually knows a way out of this, because this is getting seriously annoying.

Again, I am being punished for something I have had nothing to do with and the only advice I'm getting is to run in circles. In the end I'm left with the only option to apply for a new account and NOT disclose the fact that I had a previous account. Which might just as well get me again denied a new account.

Your kafka-esk system is completely failing me, and I have unjustly been punished for something I didn't do. You are rangeblocking people and then leave few options to resolve the matter. 85.148.159.99 (talk) 15:29, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

We are not responsible for you forgetting your account information. I would suggest you look through the edit histories of articles you might have edited during that time to see if any of the names look familiar. If you follow the instructions at ACC and aren't given an account, we can't do too much else for you. 331dot (talk) 15:36, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Found my old account ! Didn't think it would even exist or that I would remember it. Please ignore the new account request. Crusty007 (talk) 17:34, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
