October 2018 edit

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, HIV/AIDS in New York City, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:12, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

wp:Verifiability requires that you add wp:citations with your content. If it's not there when you publish, it's not verifiable and is subject to removal. Whether or not you added it to the talk page is therefore irrelevant. Please don't SHOUT on my talk page. Jim1138 (talk) 07:20, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Shouting edit

Don't per wp:ALLCAPS. Wikipedia is not a wp:reliable source. See wp:CIRCULAR Jim1138 (talk) 07:22, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

"While you should try to write citations correctly, what matters most is that you provide enough information to identify the source. Others will improve the formatting if needed." [[1]] - are you doing that Jim?

The wp:BURDEN is on you to cite a source. Not my job to clean up your mess. Jim1138 (talk) 07:30, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I do not want a pointless edit war. I was following Wikipedia:Be bold and there is now a source for someone without 2 screaming kids and a lust for accurate information to spend the time to work this in if so desired.

Yes, be bold. Also, please be aware of wp:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle.
If it is not cited, it is not verifiable. As most anyone can edit, the only credibility that Wikipedia has is through its citations.
Please use a more complete citation. It helps one know where they are linking to and helps to repair wp:linkrot. See help:referencing for beginners. Try wp:RefToolbar/2.0 it's available on the default Wikipedia editor. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 08:07, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
