Incorrect tennis chart order edit

All tennis charts are done in chronological order, oldest first. This is long-standing consensus. Please keep that in mind. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:44, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I saw many charts being done in reverse chronological way ( last edition being the first up) on ATP, WTA and Challenger tournaments.
Plus recent ones were *all* made this way. I mean those with 3 or 4 editions max.
Is the consensus reached recently or could it be there an unexpressed change of heart among tennis editors?
ps: why did you cancelled also the wikilinks to previous editions i fixed (on Stuttgart and Copa Colsanitas)?? 82.49.125.173 (talk) 00:16, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is long-standing consensus. The challender level events aren't policed like the high level events. A few always slip through the cracks but always list them eldest first. You have to realize that when you change the order and then make other corrections we can't revert the order back without also reverting those latter changes. Sorry. Thanks. So, i assume those ATP and WTA tournaments with chart having last editions the first up have slipped through your policing, am i right?
Anyway, there is a page where i can see the rationale for having such cumbersome way of listing previous editions, because i am curious about it. Are people interested in the long past history of tournaments, say, who won in the '70 decade, instead of who won in the last decade?? Because that's a valid explanation for having the eldest tournament winners listed the first. Thanks, and i am going to remake those wikilinks you cancelled. 82.49.125.173 (talk) 00:30, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
You are correct in those that fall through the policing. We try to keep up but some we miss. Thanks for remaking the links and sorry I removed them. Fyunck(click) (talk) 01:13, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
