Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Again, welcome! Peaceray (talk) 16:23, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Peaceray,

I am just reading this now and apologize for not responding (one year) sooner. Thanks for extending to Wikipedia. You probably have come across my edits before, especially when I wasn't logged in and corrected some necessarily.

I do have one question, and that's how do I connect this talk page with my *official* Wikipedia talk page?

I appreciate you sharing these resources with me as I grow as an editor and become more thoughtful and strategic about how pages should be written.

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ann Dunham, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Peaceray (talk) 16:22, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Tornado chaser. I noticed that you recently removed content from Sicilian Mafia without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. December 2018 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. General Ization Talk 23:31, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hey Pelirojopajaro,

Thanks for letting me know, I didn't think it was a particularly significant change but depending on the reader it can seem greater or less important. I'll be sure to use the sandbox more to experiment with page content, seems like the best way for people to test their ideas out.

Hi Seby,

I was just making a small fix to the description of University of Minnesota and didn't realize it came off as being that big a change. Do you think it looks better in its original form? I thought I'd make it look a little stronger by omitting Minneapolis and replacing it with Twin Cities (the official name).

Thanks for the suggesting the Help page and Sandbox. again, didn't think it would be a small but controversial change. 71.82.237.58 (talk) 02:05, 4 March 2019 (UTC)WiscipidierReply

Hi there 71.82.237.58 edit

Hello I saw the message you left if you could just leave a description in the edit summer a bit more detailed it will help a lot in the future Since a lot of Unregistered users delete entire pages and things like that Jack90s15 (talk) 18:26, 5 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jack,

Sure, I can leave a more detailed description. It's important to do what we can to keep pages intact.

Unexplained deletions and unsourced content edit

Hi, could you please explain why you deleted the population demographics information in this edit: [1], and particularly in this one: [2], which cites a reliable source?

Also, could you please explain on what basis you are adding other content, such as basketball as a sport to various athletes' articles, without citing any reliable source? For example: [3], [4], [5], etc.?

In general, you should explain every edit with an edit summary. Please note that persistently adding unsourced content, or removing sourced content without explanation, may lead to restrictions on your editing priveleges. Thanks... --IamNotU (talk) 00:55, 17 October 2019 (UTC)ddReply

Hello, and thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Last I checked, the source that I consulted from the anecdotal link did not feature the same demographics information as that I which I had deleted. On a broader note, I don't think the demographics data, particularly that which I deleted, is very relevant to the topic of Berlin overall, and the focus should be more on the city culture in general, and less on which national groups are currently residing there.

In other news, from sources I have read, most of these NFL and other pro athletes have played basketball in high school and were given the chance to play in college and/or the pro leagues, but opted to play football instead. I was able to access a couple articles about those in recent weeks but have had trouble finding them lately. In any case, I will cite them into those athletes' pages soon.

Hello, I'm UA3. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Dubai seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. June 2020 edit

Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:21, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello and thanks for bringing that to my attention, I don't like unsourced material anymore than I am sure you do. I just saw after I made that edit to Pittsburgh's sister cities that Charleroi and Pittsburgh were not sister cities as of 2019 (coincidence? Still very weird).

Meanwhile, Charleroi still lists Pittsburgh as a sister city, though that page's International relations section lacks citation.

The weird thing is, I couldn't find a link stating why these cities seem not to be connected anymore. In any case, what do you think?

Thanks

Stromae edits edit

Hi! I saw you added an edit on the Stromae page that mentioned he sang Flemish songs, but I cannot find any on the internet. Do you remember where you saw this, in order to add citations to the page, and also because I would like to listen to them?
