Speedy deletion nomination of User:3dmodelspace edit

A tag has been placed on User:3dmodelspace, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Using Wikipedia for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our policies about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are typically blocked to enforce that policy.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken (click here to search).
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information.

Request reason:

I would like to change my username from 3DModelSpace to 3dmarker

Decline reason:

You have given me no reason to believe that you will discontinue your promotional behavior, especially given your new username. The two articles you cited were not in fact created by employees of those companies, to my knowledge. One was created by a college student familiar with the product. It's best that you not be involved in the creation of your own article in the interests of a neutral point of view. — madman bum and angel 01:01, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy strongly discourages editing about your business. -Jeremy (v^_^v Tear him for his bad verses!) 22:44, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Help request edit

{{helpme}} I noticed there are articles about several companies in Wikipedia. For example Thomasnet and Solidworks both have pages that are informational, but were clearly created by an employee. I would like to contribute an article about my company that would be similar to the Thomasnet and Solidworks articles. How would I go about doing this? 3dmodelspace (talk) 23:14, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} I would like to change my username from 3DModelSpace to 3dmarker. Is this the correct section of the talk page to make this request? 3dmodelspace (talk) 23:16, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please read Conflict of Interest for why that would be a bad idea. And per Orange mike's message, "If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again." Triplestop x3 23:18, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Also, the business FAQ explains these things quite well, I think.  Chzz  ►  23:25, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I would like to write an article on the topic of online cad models. The article will focus on history and technical aspects of this topic and will not promote a business

Decline reason:

I am declining your request for unblock because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    • understand what you have been blocked for,
    • will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    • will make useful contributions instead.

{{helpme}} I read the business FAQ and see that I created an incorrect username. How do I go about changing my username and/or getting my IP address unblocked so that I can create a new username? Also in reference to 'I think my organization deserves an article on Wikipedia but none exists. What can I do?' I understand how to go about getting an article written by someone else about my company. Seems like I need to get my username unblocked to do this. Can we unblock it? 3dmodelspace (talk) 02:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Use {{unblock-un}} to request a new username while blocked. Really consider not choosing one that implies a conflict of interest. And can you identify any specific articles that you could add something to in that vein? "How engineers are using the Internet more efficiently to do their jobs" sounds more like a magazine article pitch than an encyclopedia. Daniel Case (talk) 03:34, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

2nd chance edit

This request for unblocking has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • Click edit this page on that article and scroll down past the message informing you of your block.
  • Copy the source of that article and paste it to the bottom of your talk page under a new top-level heading (like this: = [[Article title]] =) and save the page before you improve it.
  • Propose some significant and well researched improvements to your article by editing your personal copy of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "{{helpme|your question here}}" to your talk page. Thank you. King of ♠ 04:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
