Manchester revert

[1] Nothing was affected here. See Template:Anchor. It is not vandalism. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 22:13, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

G8

This is also not vandalism. It's more than likely an honest mistake by a responsible editor. Please be more considerate and careful when making the "vandalism" accusation. . Buster Seven Talk 16:34, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

I actually think it is vandalism because the only thing the editor changed was the "mistake". And plus, I thought I gave the user a uw-error message... but anyway, I'll be nicer next time. Sorry for any troubles caused.--ABCDEFADtalk to me 11:20, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Never mind,I gave a vandalism template.--ABCDEFADtalk to me 16:08, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

A cupcake for you!

Thanks for all your help reverting vandalism! I use Huggle and you tend to beat me a lot with Twinkle... regardless, thanks! Kharkiv07Talk 22:14, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Sandbox

Just an fyi, you don't need to bother reverting edits on the sandbox unless they severely violate wikipedia's policies. User:Hazard-Bot regularly cleans it out and fixes the template, good work on your vandalism revision though  . Winner 42 Talk to me! 21:40, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi ABCDEFAD. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Tiptoety talk 04:22, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

@Tiptoety: Are you sure that's a good idea? This editor wouldn't know a notable article from his own arsehole.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:54, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

In future ABCD, consider looking in google books before making rash judgements about notability, or wait ten minutes for it to be sourced..♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:00, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

@Dr. Blofeld: I am willing to reconsider if you can show me evidence that this user would misuse the rollback button. Their ability to judge notability is a completely separate issue from rollback, unless of course, they are using it to revert well sourced notable additions to articles. From what I saw in their contribution history, they have demonstrated the ability to recognize vandalism and push a button. Rollback is not a big deal. Tiptoety talk 22:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

A recent revert

Hi,

I saw this on my watchlist: [2]. What's wrong with it? JoeSperrazza (talk) 20:58, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

@JoeSperrazza: You don't add #Random character to an article. Couldn't find a warning template saying "don't put random hashtags", so I went with vandalism template.--ABCDEFAD 21:03, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
All the edit does is jump to a subsection. Try this one: King Triton - it goes to the King Triton subsection of List of Disney's The Little Mermaid characters. This is more correct. JoeSperrazza (talk) 21:19, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
Fine.--ABCDEFAD 21:24, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Reverting 116.88.76.162's edits on User:Optakeover

Hi ABCDEFAD, I was in control of that IP and made edits to my own talkpage on it as I was trying to test out Huggle and its feed. I am unsure as to whether userspace edits by other users are shown in Huggle, because I have had vandalism on my user page without Huggle telling me so. Mind if I ask you how did you manage to detect the edit by the IP? I need to know this so I have a better idea on how Huggle works. The edits were not meant to disrupt Wikipedia. And thanks for your involvement and sorry about this test. Optakeover(Talk) 20:34, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Thank You!

Thank you for helping with the Railway engines (Thomas & Friends) and Narrow gauge engines (Thomas & Friends) pages. :) --ACase0000 (talk) 21:34, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

SC State Museum Page

Apologies if you feel the SC State Museum page edits were overly promotional in nature, I tried to keep the information concise and as basic as possible. The intent was not to be disruptive (or very promotional) but instead was meant to provide a more accurate reflection of the current state of the SCSM, which has undergone massive changes in the last 12 months, and its collection. The museum now has one of the largest planetariums in the southeast, the only permanent 4D theater in the state and an observatory that features an historic telescope, which is the only observatory in the nation to offer remote telescope access to public school students via distance learning. So, if someone were going to write an article about the SC State Museum it would seem remiss not to mention some of the institution's most recent advancements. Also, a museum is nothing without its collections so the information that was added regarding the breadth and depth of the State Museum's art, history, natural history and science collection was intended to provide a more detailed look into how it collects objects and specimens to better preserve the history of South Carolina.

Again, apologies if you didn't care for the initial edits but the page would be improved and offer more accurate information with some of the updates referred to above. --SCMuseum (talk) 22:33, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

@SCMuseum: Okay, I am willing to let the edits pass if you:

If you follow this, I am fine with your edits.--ABCDEFAD 13:09, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

HI! I apologize.

Yikes I am sorry! I was trying to make it flow better as it was a little dry but I understand and will not do it again - no more soap boxing! I wasn't promoting -or at least trying not to promote. I am a doll appraiser and hoping to get a lot of doll pages published especially on contemporary artists in the last 50 years and contribute to doll related articles - our industry needs to the public support. Thank you for letting me know and for the feedback. wizard80210 22:40, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Rachel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wizard80210 (talkcontribs) wizard80210 00:36, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

The English Wikipedia now has over 5,000,000 articles! Woo-hoo!

Feel free to pass this message on! You can never celebrate too much.

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Twinkle and new users

Hi, I noticed you automatically gave 65.131.160.146 a level 2 warning for vandalism. If this is the first case of vandalism from an IP, no matter what, please place a level 1 warning instead. You may also choose to welcome the anonymous user with an unconstructive editing welcome. Thank you. This is to come off as more kind to users and encourage new accounts to be registered with Wikipedia. The StormCatcher (talk) (contribs) 23:13, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Acutually, for severe vandalism, it wouldn't make much sense to give a low warning. Say someone said "This person is an idiot" on a BLP. It wouldn't make much sense to give him a welcome. In that case, the IP offended the Soviet Union.--3 of ♦ I go first 23:19, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Question for You

Hi 3 of Diamonds and Happy New Year. If you have time, I'd appreciate it if you can help me understand something about your speedy deletion of an entry I added today. I put a draft tag at the top, which, based on my reading of Drafts is intended to indicate that a page is in process. I believe your take was that the page was promotional and not noteworthy, which is your right. I wrote a note explaining that I thought it was noteworthy and would pass that test once I finished editing. But Deb deleted it, showing that "speedy" is indeed speedy. She informed me that I should not have created an article "in draft mode" in article space - and that instead I should have created them in a sandbox or in draft mode or submit them through Articles for Creation. I now fully understand this and I also understand that she thought the article might yet be noteworthy with rework but that language was promotional. It's not my intention to promote and I understand Wikipedia's charter well. So my question to you is: Could you possibly restore my page but put it a proper draft status? I will then complete my work -- I had just started the process and did not realize that I was not placing in proper draft mode -- and you can re-judge at that point. Alternatively, am I allowed to create a proper draft of this same topic in a sandbox, without fear that it will be viewed as trying to circumvent your prior guidance and input? Let me know. Thank you for all you do, and, in advance, for your response to my question. IntegrityPen (talk) 17:38, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

Sorry IntegrityPen, but I am afraid I can't do that. Doing so requires an Administrator, which I am not. You may go on to WP:UNDELETION, or you can directly contact User:Deb.--3 of ♦ I go first 21:51, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
