2016–17 North American winter edit

Regarding this edit of yours, it is not particularly helpful to add empty headers. The edit has been undone by a different editor. Additionally, Wikipedia typically avoids using winter storm names because they are commercial. Dustin (talk) 18:38, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

32.209.33.103 Sorry I just thought it would be helpful. I redid the edit on 2016 Atlantic hurricane season and this time cited my source! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.209.33.103 (talk) 18:44, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I haven't checked out the Force Thirteen website, but hurricane statistics in the North Atlantic typically should be sourced to the National Hurricane Center (nhc.noaa.gov), the official center of the U.S. government for such information. I think you're acting in good faith, but for future reference, when changing statistics, make sure they are sourceable to the National Weather Service (of which the NHC is a part). Also, when you cite Internet sources, you have to include the specific URL between two <ref> elements. See Wikipedia:Citing sources. Dustin (talk) 19:03, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to 2017 Pacific typhoon season edit

Hello. Please stop changing the dissipation date for Tropical Depression 01W to January 17. The Regional Specialized Meteorological Center (and thus the official source of information) for the Northwestern Pacific is the Japan Meteorological Agency, and according to them the tropical depression dissipated just after 00:00 UTC January 16 (bulletin linked here). Thus, the dissipation date should be listed as January 16. Thank you. ~ KN2731 {talk} 14:00, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Otto edit

Hello there. Just a heads up, the National Hurricane Center's Tropical Cyclone Report for Hurricane Otto was released recently, and the storm's peak intensity was retroactively upgraded to 100 knots. Cheers, Dylan620 (I'm all ears) 01:40, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Deghop, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
