Speedy deletion nomination of SpaceCream edit

Hello 30rockgirl,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged SpaceCream for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Julietdeltalima (talk) 01:01, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

My article about SpaceCream has been flagged for speedy deletion. I have contested this, provided sources/citations, and believe that I have clearly laid why why this band is notable. What else can I do? How can I ensure that that my article effectively expresses the significance of this subject? Please be specific, as I am confused!

Thank you 30rockgirl (talk) 02:33, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

The notability guidelines for musicians can be found at WP:MUSIC. It would help if you could show that the band has received significant coverage in reliable third-party sources. Of your current three references, one is a blog with no indication of editorial oversight, not a reliable source, and another is a press release, not independent coverage. While the third may serve to stave off speedy deletion, I rather doubt the article would survive a deletion discussion in its current form. Huon (talk) 08:29, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Huon To my knowledge, none of those sources are a press release. Still confused, so thank you for the reference page!

The press release is this, written by Evolutionary Media Group, the "Organizer of SpaceCream Album Release". Even if it were not a press release (and it reads like one), it clearly is not third-party coverage. Huon (talk) 22:24, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
