Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Jamie Bartlett1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Jamie Bartlett1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 12:33, 23 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jamie Bartlett-s1.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Jamie Bartlett-s1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Jamie Bartlett, in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. For e.tv.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Jamie Bartlett, in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. For e.tv.jpg, which you've attributed to Jamie Bartlett. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:27, 5 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Jamie Bartlett - Photo shoot 2013 for 2oceansvibe Media.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Jamie Bartlett - Photo shoot 2013 for 2oceansvibe Media.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:26, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

First...please use four tildes (i.e. ~~~~ to sign your talk page posts....this is 'wikipedia policy' and needed to make the 'timestamp' appear, as well as to make the proper 'links' to your user page and user talk page.
Second, there is no 'in charge of editing' a page on Wikipedia...no particular editor 'owns' or 'controls' any article....see WP:OWNER
Third, all images of living persons /must/ be 'free', as wikipedia content is distributed under the CC-BY-SA license. A 'fair use' claim can only be made in cases where it is impossible to obtain a 'free' image of the subject, such as in the case of a deceased person. As the 'source' you linked specifically makes a copyright claim about the image, it cannot be used on Wikipedia. The image would have to be 'licensed' to Wikipedia under the CC-BY-SA license by the copyright holder, which would involve them allowing for the unrestricted use of the image by any person or legal entity, for any purpose (including commercial purposes) with only the 'restriction' of requiring attribution.
Four, your statement about 'being put in charge' implies that you have a 'connection' with the article subject. If that is the case, then it is 'inappropriate' for you to edit the article, as you have a 'conflict of interest' in that you have a motivation to paint the subject in a positive light, and that is not inline with the 'neutrality' principles of Wikipedia. See WP:COI.

In order to 'upload the picture properly', the copyright holder would need to contact the OTRS team in order to 'verify' that the image is released under the CC-BY-SA license, or another 'compatible' free license...see this link for details... [1].

Further imformation about why this image has been deleted (specifically, the description of when 'non-free' content is allowed) can be found at WP:NFCCP. This image fails criteria #1, as noted in the above 'deletion notice'. Revent (talk) 09:56, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
