January 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Joshua Jonathan. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Talk:Zen#Do the moderators of this page even study zen? that didn't seem very civil. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 11:27, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Zen are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Hello 2A02:A210:2901*, please see [1]. Closely related IP´s may be considered a single user for Wikipedia's purposes if they edit with the same objectives. JimRenge (talk) 11:35, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am trying to add reliable sources to improve the article. I however think the editor in question is biased which does not help the objective standards an article is supposed to have. Hence the discussion on the talk page with a RfC.

It's not an insult. It's genuine concern. You can't claim to study zen if you keep out the teachings of the six founders.

Hi - just FYI, I realised that the thread you started was on WP:AN. The correct forum is WP:ANI - I've moved the thread there. Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 19:16, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
