October 2022 edit

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Abortion in Florida, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. COMMENT: Hi, please stop blanking large sections of different articles in the way that you are. You must seek talk page consensus if you are to make such large edits. You keep doing this across several articles. Please state your intentions or feel free to discuss here or on my own talk page. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 19:11, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Stop deleting text edit

My friend, please just stop making broad edits to sourced material. If you disagree with what's in the article, you MUST bring it up on each article's talk page. And, yes, if you're going to change the standard for each state, those are 30+ different articles. WP:3RR forbids you from reverting 3 times so as to stave off an edit war. Please stop. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 19:31, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@That Coptic Guy:, this is not true, there is no requirement to seek consensus before making previously uncontested edits. Please show me the policy that does mandate me to. 2A01:4B00:9D42:6E00:FCE7:AC6D:CFC5:3126 (talk) 19:35, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked temporarily from editing for making (or attempting to make) disruptive edits that triggered the edit filter.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Alexf(talk) 19:42, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Alexf, would you mind pointing out which of my edits were disruptive and how this block satisfies WP:PREVENTATIVE? I did not repeat the (justified, see this discussion) removals, so which one of the more recent edits is it? 2A01:4B00:9D42:6E00:FCE7:AC6D:CFC5:3126 (talk) 19:44, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
When the edit filters get triggered repeatedly (over 20 in a row in a span of a few minutes), they report it to be stopped. The block is for triggering the edit filters repeatedly. When the system is stopping you from posting, you stop, and ask in the Talk page to see what the problem is. Repeatedly continuing when the automated filters find fault, and not asking about it but continuing the behavior requires to put a stop to it. -- Alexf(talk) 19:49, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alexf, I don't get it. The system did not stop me from editing. None of the filters I triggered (AbuseLog) warned me, they all tagged. I don't see why triggering edit filters results in a block, given that section blanking can (and in this case was) be an improvement of the article. 2A01:4B00:9D42:6E00:FCE7:AC6D:CFC5:3126 (talk) 19:52, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Pinging @Alexf: in case you missed it. I was not stopped by "the system" and don't see how it would have stopped me given that all filters I triggered only tagged, not warned. 2A01:4B00:9D42:6E00:8438:5743:AB9B:B125 (talk) 22:03, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Cleaning up edit

Good job cleaning up here, Knitsey. I suppose it is on the next gnome to remove the empty footnotes section, then? 2A01:4B00:9D42:6E00:FCE7:AC6D:CFC5:3126 (talk) 19:47, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
